Saturday, December 4 - Five Creeks: Through Western Montgomery County. Class B-, 13-15 mph, under 40 miles. Some climbs, mostly rolling terrain. Leaves the Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 10:00. Coffee and bagels or 7-11 stop in Bryn Mawr. Call if weather is questionable or below 40 at start time. Saturday, December 4 - Off-Season Training Ride. Class C+, 14 mph avg, 40 miles. This ride leaves from the Italian Fountain at 11:00. Expect 40 miles to either Ambler or Devon with some hills and a refreshment stop. Cue sheets will be provided. This ride is not for beginners. Precipitation cancels. Sunday, December 5 - Short Way to Skippack. Class B- 14 mph, 40- 45 miles. Meet at Bruno's for a 9:30 start. Rolling ride to Skippack. See open views not visible with foliage. Will skirt Evansburg Park at some point. Mini-mart or sit down breakfast. Winter rules, no one dropped, but be prepared for cold weather riding. Forecast high below 40s cancels ride. Questionable forecast, call first. Leader: Roger Burnham, 215 848-3545.

Sunday, December 5 - Fun Wheelers: West Chester. Class B-/C, 11-13 mph, about 40 miles, some hills. Starts 9:30 from Manhattan Bagel in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center. We loop around the area to get on Goshen & Strasburg Roads, to West Chester for a brunch break. Thence a bit north before returning via Goshen(s), Malvern, etc. Although we stop to regroup, this is not a ride for beginners. Cue sheets provided. Bring snack, H2O & $. A multi-club ride. Sunday, December 5 - B Ramble. Class B, 14-15 mph, 40+ miles, to Media or Linvilla Orchards in Delaware County, depending upon the temperature. Distance to food stop is about 15-20 miles. If the day is friendly, I may include some of the early mill towns along the Chester Creek. Since the day will be so short, I plan to return by 4:30. Meet at the Italian Fountain at noon. Saturday, December 11 - Pizza in West Grove. Class B, approx 55-60 miles, about 14 mph. Leaves 8:15 from behind the WaWa in Chadd's Ford. We will ride to West Grove in search of pizza and more for those who are tired of turkey this time of year. Sunday, December 12 - The Brandywine & Woodlawn Trust Estate Mulch Challenge. MTB Class B pace, about 15 miles. Great single-track and fire roads, lots of climbing through horse country mulch trails, fire roads, and wooded single-track through some of Brandywine Park but mostly Woodland Trust Estate trails. Cancelled if significant rain up to 48 hours before the ride or temperatures well below 20 degrees. Meet at parking lot (bring a few bucks for the park fee) along main multi-use trail next to Brandywine Creek off route 92 in Brandywine Delaware for a 9:00 start. Sunday, December 12 - B Ramble. Class B, 14-15 mph, 40-45 miles. Food stop at Whole Foods Market in Devon. Cue sheets provided. Terrain is flat to rolling hills with one or two moderate climbs. Friday, December 17 - Holiday Lights Night Ride Celebration. All Classes, 13 miles. Relive your childhood days of cruising the streets in search of holiday lights and festive displays. This is a reprise of the past couple of years and a club favorite! You won't be disappointed on this ride, as I've found a number of unique streets and hundreds of houses decorated to the maximum for the season. We'll tour south Philly's best and brightest holiday displays. Meet in FRONT of the Art Museum in Philadelphia at 7 PM. The past several years have seen a number of people shivering in the cold weather. Please overdress in layers to insure your full enjoyment of the ride. Our rolling average speed is about 10 mph, not nearly fast enough to generate much body heat. Bring your hybrid or MTB for some of the rougher terrain along the city streets. Your bike should be equipped with lights and reflectors, and you should dress with bright reflective clothing. Those really looking to get in the spirit are encouraged to decorate their bikes with lights and garland. Afterwards we'll go out for food and spirits. Canceled only if it's raining. Sunday, December 19 - B Ramble. Class B, 14-15 mph, abut 40 miles. Destination is Brew Ha Ha coffee shop in Blue Bell. Some climbs out the city, then rolling terrain. Cue sheets provided. Friday, December 24 - Carranza Christmas Eve Nighttime ATB Ride. MTB Class B, 10-15 miles. Not for beginners, must have dependable lights designed for night riding - no flashlights taped to handlebars, no miners' lights glued to helmets! Cancellation - rain forecast for day of ride or temperatures well below 20 degrees. Confused? Not sure of the forecast? Cannot tell the temperature? Contact Joe for guidance. Sunday, December 26 - The Carranza Cruise. MTB Class B pace, 15 +/- miles. We will explore the Wharton State Forest without getting lost and all the while having loads of fun! Bring plenty of fluids, snacks, good humor, and expect about 3-4 hours of riding. No one gets dropped as all riders will regroup at trail intersections. 9:00 start, other info same as Dec 24. Sunday Morning Breakfast Ride. Class C, up to 30 miles. Meet 8:45 at the SE corner of 22nd & Spring Garden for a delightful ride to a delightful place to have a delightful breakfast. Bring locks and money for brunch in the middle of the ride. We always need volunteers to lead us to delightful eating spots and pretty biking areas. Ride may be canceled at temperatures below 32 degrees. MTB on the Wissahickon Trails. December 12 and 26 only. Class B-/C+. Starts from Valley Green (upper parking lot) at 9:00. We ride for approximately 2.5 hours. Please note: a trail permit is required! The ride may be cancelled because of poor weather and/or trail conditions, so call ahead or e-mail to confirm or with questions. Sunny Sunday Afternoon Class D Ride is over for the season. See you in the spring!

Sunny Sunday Spin-Off Ride. Class C, usually 25-30 miles. A true C ride which cheerfully waits to regroup. All welcome. Meets 12:15 at the rock near the Italian Fountain, behind the Art Museum. Tuesdays

NightRiders. Class C, 10-20 miles. We spin around southern DelCo in the dark. Bike lights front and rear are a must. You must call or e- mail the leader to confirm the start time and location. Wednesdays

MTB on the Pennypack Trails. Class B-/C+. Starts from the Pine Road entrance to Pennypack Park at 6:30 PM. Lights and a trail permit are required. We ride for approximately 1-1/2 hours. Come enjoy the great outdoors after dark! Depending on weather and/or trail conditions, the day may change. Call or e-mail to confirm that the ride is on or with questions. Fridays

Wallyball. December 3 and 17. Come to the Aquatic & Fitness Center at Riverside Racquet at 600 Righters Ferry Road in Bala Cynwyd at 7 PM for a fun and invigorating game of Wallyball. What is that, you ask? Good question - it's volleyball in a racquetball court. We play until at least 9:00. Cost is $7.50 per person. Bring your own lock for a locker. Saturdays

Krank with Kolman. Class C, 30-40 miles, 12-14 mph. Come on down and discover a new area to ride. This is wonderful, open flat to slightly rolling farm land. We will hold a "C" pace but faster riders are welcome and may ride off. Meet at baseball field parking lot, Sharp & Columbia Sts, Millville, NJ. From 55 S, take exit 27. Go south. Cross light. Bear right at the Y. Stay right at second Y. Go about 1 mile. Laundromat is on left; parking lot for the ride is on the right. Usual start time is 9:00, but ride may start later or be canceled depending on the weather, so call to confirm. Rain or snow cancels. Joint ride with SJ Wheelmen.
