Saturday, June 4 - Mount Gretna. Class B, 14-15 mph avg, 74 miles. Begins at 8:45 at the Shady Maple Market in Blue Ball, Lancaster County, so please plan accordingly. Tired of the same-old same-old? Come on this Eduardo Ruchelli classic. We will roll (and climb) our way through bucolic Lancaster County, then into wooded Lebanon County on our way to the storybook town of Mount Gretna. Here we'll lunch al fresco at a unique ice cream shop and eatery that dates back to the 1800s. Then it's upward to the Furnace Mountains and back towards Lancaster County for the rolling return to Blue Ball. If we get back early enough there may still be some homemade pies for sale at the market. Those who have done this ride know just how nice it is, and the rest should come to discover its beauty for yourselves. Detailed cue sheets provided. Pa. Turnpike west to Morgantown/SR 10 exit. Take SR 10 south to SR 23 west for 7 miles. Just past the intersection of SR 23 & SR 897 south, the market will be on the left-hand side. Please park at the far end of the lot near the trees. Meet at Camden County College, the rear parking lot, behind the CIMM building, on Peter Cheeseman Road across from the Y in Blackwood, NJ, for an 8:00 start. Please note the title Almost All the Way... we get excruciatingly close to Alloway then hang a sharp right turn. Last year a few intrepid cyclists on a break-away missed the turn, and of course made it all the way to Alloway. Last year we had to toured beacuse of a missing bridge; my hope is that somebody put it back. Two rest stops, whether we need them or not, and since it is not a holiday maybe the cheese shop in Elmer will be open. Pace will be held, with plenty of extra-long breakaways for those that find cycling below 19 mph repugnant. Leader: Joseph 'Parts' Barolin, 856-265-1051, joepartsb@yahoo.com.

Sunday, June 12 - Chadds Ford and Beyond (Adhoc). Class B, 15 mph, 60-70 miles. Departs from McDonald's in Ardmore at 8:00. That's on Lancaster Avenue at Ardmore Avenue, across the street from the I-HOP pancake house, about six miles west of Center City. If you want to meet between Center City and Ardmore, make arrangements with Jack. We will visit some of the most attractive land left in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. Much of the trip is in wild life refuges, state parks, land trusts, nature sanctuaries, and private estates (Granogue, Winterthur, and Guyencourt). This is the land of the DuPonts and the Wyeths. Since the scenery will be attractive, we will travel as tourists without hammering. We will traverse at least five creek valleys -- Cobbs, Ridley, Chester, Brandywine, and Red Clay. Therefore you should expect climbing. This area is not visited often by our club; expect to see roads that are new to you. Carry food with you; land trusts do not have convenience stores. If you are a new rider, join us for the first part of the trip which will not be very hilly. There will be a turn around point at about fifteen or twenty miles for riders who must return early. Anyone who wants to meet along the way can contact Jack.

Anyone who wants to meet along the way can contact Jack. Please note: This ride went so well that we decided to do it twice. All roads will be new. If we are rained out on Saturday, we will do this ride on Sunday. Leaders: Jack Echols, jackvortex@aol.com, 215-382-6730; Eileen Callaghan, 610-446-1334.
