    Level C+ and B, 13.5 +/- and 16 +/- mph, 40 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Bring yer bike and sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out some new routes. Today we'll keep the ride on the shorter side due to the weather, and will ride to one of our favorite pizza place - just outside of Doylestown off of Easton Rd. Mostly rolling terrain, with a few hills thrown in after lunch (Sugar Bottom and Valley Rd). Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace.     Fri September 4, 2015 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. WAYNE to GLEN MILLS, then, MINI-TAILGATE PARTY

    Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 54 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. For 9/4: Lovely route from Wayne through Chester County and the southwestern part of Delaware County,close to the Delaware state line. Cycle across the campus of Cabrini College, cross some peaceful creeks and ride past serene landscapes and pretty countryside. We'll also pass Cheyney University. Total elevation gain 3500 ft of climbing. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 13mph average, as advertised. Convenience store quick stop at mile 17. Indoor, sit-down lunch stop at mile 32 at the large and popular Whole Foods Market in Glen Mills. On the return, we have an optional Wawa rest stop if needed at mile 42. MINI TAILGATE PARTY: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot).     Level B+, 16-17 mph, 40-55 miles. Meet at Main Line Cycles back parking lot, Narberth, PA. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Great roads with low traffic. Narberth through Bryn Mawr and out to Waynesborough Country Club. Then south to Ridley Creek State Park. Back through Villanova (and Gladwyne if the group wants more hills). Speed determined by the group. Bring a snack for brief mid-ride break. Rain cancels. Consider the on-line route approximate. Leave by 8:05 AM. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat September 5, 2015 - Frenchtown to Merrill Creek Reservoir Challenge. CARPOOLING AVAILABLE

    Level B-, 13-15 mph, 63 miles. Frenchtown - parking lot just below Bridge St, between river and Canal Trail. The ride leaves at 8:45 am. Hilly but pretty loop through Warren and Hunterdon Counties, NJ, to the scenic Merrill Creek Reservoir. This route includes a couple of 400-ft climbs, and one 640-ft climb, but the vistas from the summits are magnificent. We'll be riding mostly on quiet and shaded country roads, but also passing through the quaint towns of Milford, Riegelsville, Stewartsville, and Bloomsbury. Initial and final stretches of the route, along River Road, are flat. The challenging hills section, ~10 miles of climbing, is in the middle. Total elevation gain is 5100 ft, but we will stop to regroup as needed. Food stops at mile 24 in Stewartvsille (before climbing to the Reservoir), and at mile 46 in Bloomsbury. (We'll also have a brief photo/scenery stop at the spectacular Reservoir at mile 31.) From the food stop in Bloomsbury, we'll descend to the village of Little York, then return to Milford and Frenchtown via downhill-to-flat roads. CARPOOLING: LMc is available to meet for car-pooling at 7:00 at a mutually convenient location in NE Phila. or eastern Montgomery County.     Level B, 13.5 mph, 30 miles. Chester Valley Trail parking lot. Located near the intersection of Devon Park Dr & S. Warner Rd in Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. A ride the day before yer "Big Event". Whether you are doing New Hope-New York, The Brandywine Tour, or not even riding Sunday, this route will be short enough to keep your legs fresh, but not so long as to get burned out prior to tomorrow. We will also be finished before noon, giving you plenty of time for zzz's. No food stops. One water break. 1,500' of climbing, all within the first 15 miles of route. Cue sheets will be available.

There will be a surprise ride leader who has been venturing far from Philadelphia. He will be returning over Labor Day Weekend. Relaxed paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond depending on the experience of the riders. Bring helmet, extra tube, water, and $ for mid-ride snack. Recommend sunscreen for exposed skin. The route will take us from VF to Hennings Market in Harleysville. Riders will then have the option of returning to VF, without a leader (35 mile route), or doing an extra 18 mile loop back to Hennings, before returning to Valley Forge (54 mile route).     Level D/D+/C-, 9-12 mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Pedal away the stresses of the workday at a relaxed pace. We'll be meeting in the same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". We'll start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri September 11, 2015 - Friday Frolic w/Linda - UDHS to CARVERSVILLE, BUCKS COUNTY

    Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 54 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty route from Upper Dublin High School (Ft. Washington) to charming Carversville in Bucks County. Outbound via Spring House, Warrington, & Doylestown. Return via Lahaska, Horsham, & Maple Glen. Rolling terrain with a few brisk climgs, but nothing too steep. Total elevation gain is 2366 feet. Quick rest stop (bathroom break) at mile 16 at Doylestown Central Park, then a lunch stop at Carversville General Store at mile 27. On the return, we have an optional Wawa stop at mile 46. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain at 13mph, as advertised. Plan is to return by ~3:00pm.     Level B/B-, 14.75-15.25 mph, 48 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 7:30 am. Assemble at 7:30. We willl leave at 7:40 SHARP! Ride through Belmont, Wynwood, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyn, Villanova, Devon,Conshohocken, Manayunk, etc. Many hills, including five relatively long ones, but no killers. One quick comfort stop at mile 26 or so in Devon, and long coffee stop in Manyunk at mile 41 or so. (It's all about the coffee.)     Level B- , 13-15 mph, 80 miles. The Pavilion shopping center (Lansdale) at corner of Broad St / Whites Rd (just down the block from Whites Rd Park) - park near Pets Plus. The ride leaves at 7:45 am. Scenic ride to the Bowers Park Chile Pepper Festival (http://www.pepperfestival.com/Welcome.html). Beautiful scenery along mostly low traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. Challenging yet manageable climbing miles 27-34 followed by long and fast 3 mile descent prior to stop at Bowers Park. Another 3 miles of climbing after rest stop / lunch at the Festival before flattening out and returning to rollers for remainder of return. Optional rest stop at Turkey Hill at mile 20, longer rest stop at midway point for lunch and final (optional) stop at Wawa at mile 63.     Level B to B+, 16-20 mph, 62 miles. Hammonton Walmart; 55 S. White Horse Pike, Hammonton,NJ. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This is a "show and go" preview ride.The actual ride will take place Sunday Oct.11th with a 9am, rather than 10am start ( the preview ride starts 10am). If there isn't more than 1 rider for the "preview" ride the leader will do the shorter 47 mile Hammonton Blueberry Ride scheduled to leave at the same time and place. The new Seashore Metric heads into Ocean City where we'll have lunch up on the boardwalk or bay with the salty air blowing into our faces. After lunch we'll head north and visit Longport,Margate, Ventnor then Atlantic City where we'll take the train back to Hammonton for a dinner at Joe Italiano's, the best Italian Restaurant in the area. This ride is very scenic, very long, and more difficult than average. There will be hills, small back roads, apple orchards, and the Trexler Nature Preserve with free ranging Elk and Buffalo (behind big fences). I have also seen foxes, eagles, and other strange critters. Bring the camera. The views are spectacular. PLEASE measure your ability. It is not necessary to ā€œraceā€ up a hill, but you MUST have the cardio to recover at the top. Otherwise, it will be a very long day. This is NOT A ā€œCā€ RIDE. No one will be dropped, but please be advised that this is a solid C+ ride, and that in fairness to all, you need to be able to ride at the advertised pace.     Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 56 miles. Fischer's Park, on Bustard Rd, between Kriebel Rd & Fry Rd, Towamencin. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. FOR 9/25: Pretty loop, based on Rich Wagner's Mother's Day Ride, from Fischer's Park on Bustard Rd in Towamencin, to the northern reaches of Montgomery County. On the outbound, we have a quick rest stop at mile 15 in Franconia. Lunch stop is at Wawa at mile 32. On the return, we have an optional rest stop at mile 47 in Salfordville.
