Later starting time (10:45am), since the forecast calls for an early morning shower to pass, and give way to partial sunshine in the afternoon. Due to the later start, this route will have two (2) Wawa rest stops, instead of an indoor, sit-down lunch stop. From Glenside, outbound via Ambler, North Wales, and Skippack, with a Wawa stop at mile 18 in North Wales. Return via East Norriton, Blue Bell, and Flourtown, with a Wawa stop at mile 35 in East Norriton. Pretty and peaceful green landscapes in the Cedars/Skippack/Evansburg area. Total elevation gain 2260 feet. Rolling terrain, with one brisk climb at mile 32. Please click on the route map link to preview the elevation profile. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain the advertised pace. Re. the starting point at Glenside Library - rest rooms are available here before we leave. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.
