Thanks for posting the return train expectations. (George and) I will drive to Wilmington and meet you at the train station. We need to leave Wilmington by 4pm; I think we can do it.

The weatherman is predicting scorching temperatures. If he’s right, and the temperatures hit the mid-90’s by mid-day on Saturday, we will shorten the ride and make it a round trip to New Castle with lunch at Jessop’s Tavern. If the forecast is wrong and it’s not that hot out on the trails, we can still opt for the original plan to go on to Delaware City. Please read the revised ride description. We will still take the same train from 30th Street Station and arrive in Wilmington about 10:30 for coffee on the River Walk at the start of the ride.

Riders taking the train Saturday morning………..Since there are not very many of us, I don’t anticipate a crowd at the SEPTA ticket window, and I’m going to take my chances that getting to the window by 9:30 wont be a problem. In fact, last week when we took the train from 30th Street and needed to purchase tickets, they waived us on and told us to purchase our tickets from the conductor. It will be half price for those with SEPTA Senior Fare Cards. You will need a ticket or a SEPTA CARD to tap on the turnstile to access the very small ELEVATOR to the platform, so if you don’t have a ticket or SEPTA card, it may take an extra minute or two to get someone to open the turnstile for you. MEET by 9:30 in the SEPTA information board/ticket agent area at 9:30, or on the platform after 9:30.

I'm cancelling due to the heat. George still plans to ride.
