“Gear Up For Spring”

BCP is pleased to host this event for our cycling family, to help make our return to early spring bike rides more enjoyable, comfortable, and energy-efficient.
When?  Wednesday, March 27, 2019. 6:30 to 9:00pm.   “Happy Hour” starts at 6:30, program starts at 7:00.
Where?  Giant Bicycles/Village Velo of Bridgeport, 3 Dekalb St, Bridgeport, PA 19405

This bike shop is directly across the Schuylkill River from Norristown. By bike, it is accessible via the SRT. By car, it is accessible via I-76, PA-23, US-202, and Ridge Pk/Main St in Norristown. PUBLIC TRANSIT access includes the Manayunk train line, which stops at the Norristown Transportation Center, directly across the river. The SEPTA 99 bus runs along Dekalb St, and stops in front of the shop.


Physical Therapists Kira Sender & Greg Kowal (both are DPTs) will present “spring training” exercises, to 
  • Maximize physical fitness and stamina, and minimize fatigue
  • Prevent pain and injuries
  • Maximize the JOY & FUN of returning to early spring riding, after the winter hiatus
A bike mechanic will present spring cleaning & tune-up essentials for our bikes, to
  • Optimize performance and energy-efficiency
  • Optimize comfort for longer rides **Proper illumination for riding in the dark will be included.
Our bike mechanic will also explain how certain clothing accessories can be helpful during the fickle
weather of early spring, when it’s cool in the morning, but warm in the afternoon.
REFRESHMENTS will be served. There will be time for socializing and refreshments from 6:30 to ~7:00. There will be a brief intermission for refreshments between the presentations.
PARKING There is a large, free, off-street parking lot next to the shop entrance, on DeKalb St.
