BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Fri October 23, 2020 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. UDHS to Harleysville & Beyond to Souderton.
Level B-/C+: 13.5-14mph, 55 (or 43 shortcut) miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Pretty and meandering route from Upper Dublin HS into Montgomery County. If the weather cooperates, the full route (55 miles) includes an outer loop from Harleysville to Souderton. Outbound via Ambler, Blue Bell, and West Point. Bathroom/portapotty stops available at Fischer's Park (Mile 16) or Heckler Park (Mile 19). Food stop at Hennings Market in Harleysville at Mile 20. 12-mile Outer loop around Franconia and Souderton will come back to Harleysville at Mile 33. Heading back to UDHS, there is a WAWA AT Mile 38 in Skippack. SHORT-CUT OPTION (43-miles): if the weather is not bike-friendly, we can delete the outer loop, and turn around at Harleysville. Rolling terrain with a few brisk climbs, but nothing too steep. Total elevation for the 55-mile route is 2977 ft. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. COVID PRECAUTIONS: Please adhere vigilantly to the COVID Mitigation Measures posted on the club's website. Please bring mask and hand sanitizer, and practice safe social distancing - 20 ft apart while cycling, and at least 6 ft apart when stopped. Group size is limited to 10 riders. If we have more than 10 riders at the ride start, we will separate into two groups, for safe social distancing. If you feel ill or experience symptoms, please refrain from joining the group ride. Fri October 23, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED Paper Trail Bike Coffee Shop - Rittenhouse Town, Wisahicon Park .
Level D: 10mph, 16 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. We will cycle up to the Papper Trail Bike Coffee Shop in Rittenhouse Town. We will return via Germantown. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

Sat October 24, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED Toss of the Dice - 4 Circles - Marple Newtown .
Level B-/C+: 14mph, 45-80 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Ride Level: Various rides ranging 45-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Please be familiar with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Rider Guidelines for COVID-19 Mitigation, and bring a mask for the rest stop. Preregistration required. Sat October 24, 2020 - Fall Foliage & History around Hanover-Gettysburg COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT.
Level B-: 14mph, 78 miles. Meet at Hampton Inn of Hanover, PA 309 Wilson Ave, Hanover, PA 17881. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Very pretty and scenic meander, on mainly quiet roads, through York and Adams Counties. From Hanover, cycle through Irishtown, New Oxford, Biglersville and the fruit & orchard region, historic Sachs Covered Bridge, and part of Gettysburg Battlefield. Cross a few creeks and cycle through peaceful countryside and quaint towns. Rest stops include the coffee shop in New Oxford at Mile 13, lunch in Biglersville at Mile 33, photo stop at Sachs Covered Bridge at Mile 46, Gettysburg Battlefield Visitors Center at Mile 52, and a convenience store at Mile 64. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT: Please bring a mask and hand sanitizer. We will practice safe social distancing - 20 ft apart while cycling, 6 ft apart when stopped. At all of our rest stops, we can sit outside for COVID mitigation. START/FINISH in Hanover: Please allow at least 2 hours driving time to/from Philadelphia. Since we will be cycling through part of Gettysburg Battlefield and stopping at some of the monuments, please plan on a full day for this ride (8+ hours). Sat October 24, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED Philly Wandrers - Magical History Tour - The Lazaretto (Level C) .
Level C: 11.5-12mph, 49 miles. Meet at Cadence Cycling and Cafe 201 S. 25th St Philadelphia. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This adventure will take you back to the founding of the Lazaretto in 1799, six years after the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793 killed 10% of Philadelphia's population. Learn the significance of this historic site in TInicum Township from Professor David S. Barnes. Along the way we'll ride through the fall colors of Ridley Creek State Park and appreciate the beauty of the Chester Creek Trail. Refueling stops include Wawa at 15 miles and OB's Jamaican at 30 miles. Sat October 24, 2020 - Saturday Spring Mill C - Trooper 9:30 AM start.
Level C: 11.5-12mph, 28 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Later start time for a fall ride. PLEASE remember your mask! No potty at the start :( First half has the hills, then back to the SRT for the return trip. ACME stop at mile 17. Moderate pace with regrouping at hill tops and traffic signals. If you see the GREEN "pencil" icon to the left of the listing, the ride is still open :) Cue sheets will not be available. Sat October 24, 2020 - Philly Wandrers--Delaware Countians' version--Magical History Tour.
Level D: 9-12mph, 40 miles. Meet at Septa Regional Rail Station in Media, PA. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This tour will start at the Septa Media Regional Rail Station will go to the Lazaretto in Tinicum Township (see the description of the ride from Rob Gusky's listed ride, which is listed to start earlier today) This ride will follow the Chester Creek Trail for some of the trip (which will include photo op of some great fall scenes. We will stop at the Upland Diner for lunch with a Covid 19 protected area. Proceeding then to the Lazaretto for a lecture about the history of the building. After we leave the Lazaretto we will go back through the Cobbs Creek Parkway and follow the "Baltimore Pike" Bike Trail. We will be near the Lansdowne Train Station at about mile 30. There will be an option to take the Regional Rail back to Media. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is Lazaretto from Media.
