BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Follow this link to view the Weekly Ride List for more detailed information regarding these rides than the minimal description provided in the Monthly Ride Calendar below. Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     Sat October 23, 2021 - Annual Fall Foliage Weekend in Hanover/Gettysburg -- Friday, Oct. 22 through Sunday, Oct. 24

    Level B-: 14-14mph, 15-75+ miles. Meet at Hampton Inn of Hanover, PA, 309 Wilson Ave @ Einsenhower Drive, 17331. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Day 2 of 3: BCP's annual fall foliage bike tour of Hanover and Gettysburg, PA, and surrounding countryside in York and Adams Counties. Ride past peaceful horse farms, across creeks and lakes, and around the quaint town of Gettysburg, as well as through Gettysburg National Park (the Battlefield). Preregistration and payment are required. Event details and the registration page are available at: BCPWeekends.org Wide array of routes with various distances and terrains are available. Organized group rides with leaders. Hotel, meals, and snacks provided, post-ride parties, and live music. Cue sheet packets will include routes and maps. All-inclusive package. SAG drivers have also been arranged to assist our riders. Please feel free to contact the Leader for more information.     Sat October 23, 2021 - Philly Wandrers: Monroe Township Bike Path

    Level C: 12.5mph, 37 miles. Meet at Fitler Square. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This multi-model adventure will explore Gloucester County, NJ and highlight the 6 mile paved Monroe Township Bike Path. PATCO to Lindenwold will be used to keep the distance manageable. Stops include Aloha Poke Bowl in Glassboro (mile 24) and Lena's Water Ice & Custard (mile 35). Expect to return to Philadelphia by 4 pm Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat October 23, 2021 - Toss of the Dice 2.0 - Be Well Bakery - Bryn Athyn - 51 Miles

    Levels B-: 14mph, C+: 14mph, 35-80 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Please be familiar with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Rider Guidelines for COVID-19 Mitigation, and bring a mask for the rest stop. Preregistration required.     Level D: 9-13mph, 40 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. This is a D speed ride with C hills and distance. We will go to the new Media Bean in Newtown Square. Please wear helmet and have mask available for local mask wearing regulationand) (required by club. Please bring extra tube, water, dress for the weather, sunscreen, and $ for mid-ride snack stop. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 9:30 am.

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond for new, young, and older riders. Please bring extra tube, water, dress for the weather, $ for mid-ride snack stop. Helmet and mask required (rules of the BCP). We might have a hill or two to help with conditioning. We might have a stop along the way to demonstrate and practice an essential bike skill. If you preregister and are unable to come please cancel your preregistration. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 12:00 pm.

    Level D: 10-11mph, 27 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Ride out and back on the SRT- enjoy a pastry and a coffee at the Feine cafe..On the return trip, we will cross the Manayunk Bridge and take the Cynwyd heritage trail and go through west Laurel Hill cemetery.     Tue October 26, 2021 - Narberth - Le Petit Mitron

    Level D: 10mph, 10 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. A quick ride out to Le Petit Mitron in Narberth so we can get back to center city for a 1:30 pm showing of a film at the Philadelphia Film Festival running October 20th through the 31st. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 1:15 am.

    Tue October 26, 2021 - Ride Yer Bike Tuesday

    Levels A-/B+: 16-17mph, B-: 13.5-14.5mph, C+: 12-13mph, 35-50 miles. Meet at Mondauk Park. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Sometimes we'll ride familiar routes, sometimes new ones. Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads. Lunch stops may be sit down, takeout, or in a park (bring a sandwich/snack). Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely, obey traffic laws and follow: https://phillybikeclub.org/bcp_covid_19_rider_guidelines.pdf. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy - rain cancels, but will likely reschedule for Wed. NOTE: The 4th Tues. of the month starts @ Central Pk, Doylestown, and Nov. is ad hoc: the day of the week, start location and start time will be based on the weather and determined weekly.     Tue October 26, 2021 - Tandem Tuesday

    Level Tandem: 13mph, 42 miles. Meet at Batsto SP Visitors Center, 31 Batsto Rd, Hammonton, NJ, 08037. The tandem ride leaves at 10:00 am. Tandem ride with singles welcome starting at Historic Batsto Village, NJ a preserved company town, originally an iron works during colonial days. Later a glass works, then an agricultural center owned by Joseph Wharton (of Wharton School fame). Many years after his death the State purchased the property to preserve it as an historic site. The ride passes through miles of pinelands and has several views of the Mullica River. The mid-point stop for snack and restroom break will be at Historic Smithville, a re-created village with shops and restaurants. Bring a picnic lunch if desired to enjoy after the ride back at Batsto SP. The Park Visitor Center includes a Museum with exhibits on the history of Batsto and about the Pinelands in general.     Level D: 10mph, 18 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. A quick ride to Little Susie's Pie and Coffee on the northern cusp of Fishtown vie Penn Treaty Park and Port Richmond. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Fri October 29, 2021 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

    Sat October 30, 2021 - Early-Bird, PRE-PARTY Loop from Chestnut Hill to Gwynedd, then, return to the VENUE for the FALL OPEN HOUSE PARTY

    Level B-: 14mph, 40 miles. Meet at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 8000 Cherokee Street, Philadelphia, 19118 (Chestnut Hill). The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Pretty loop from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (the location of the Fall Open House Party later today) to the Wawa in Gwynedd, near the 202 Parkway Trail. Outbound via Oreland, Ft. Washington, and Prospectville. Return via Blue Bell, Flourtown, and Wyndmoor. The quick Wawa stop at Gwynedd is at mile 21. Rolling terrain, but no killer climbs. Total elevation gain 1922 ft. Plan is to return by 12:00-12:15pm, in order to set-up for the FALL OPEN HOUSE PARTY at 1:00pm. START/FINISH: Parking lot of the NEW Cherokee Dining Hall at SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL ACADEMY at 8000 Cherokee Street. There is a large, off-street parking lot in front of the building.
