For BCP’s display tent & Members’ Appreciation Nights
at Friday Night Races at the Velodrome –
July 7th , July 21st and August 18th
BCP will be at the Friday night races on July 21st (rain date 7/28) and August 18th to promote our club’s upcoming events, including (but not limited to) the Scenic Schuylkill Century on Sunday, September 10. We will be greeting visitors and answering their questions about BCP’s rides & events and about cycling in & around Philadelphia.
If you’ve never been to the Velodrome, the Friday night races are enjoyable and exciting for cyclists of all levels of interest and ability. These race events are fun family outings, also, drawing 2000 spectators from a wide radius.
If you are able to attend on any of these Friday nights, please stop by the BCP tent to say “hello” to our volunteers. If you are able to volunteer some time at the BCP tent, please contact Linda McGrane (see below). Volunteer assistance is appreciated for set-up, greeting visitors, and for clean-up.
When? Friday evenings, July7h, July 21 (rain date 7/28), and August 18 (Season Finale w/ Fireworks)
Where? Valley Preferred Cycling Center (formerly Lehigh Valley Velodrome) in Trexlertown.
What are the hours? Gates open for Happy Hour at 5:30pm. Races begin at 7:00pm.
What is the cost? General admission is $10 for an adult ticket. (Due to the shape of the track, ALL seats provide excellent views of the cyclists and the races.) Kids under 9 get FREE general admission. Special Admission seating in the German Beer Garden is $15/person. Snacks, light dinner platters, and beverages can be purchased on-site at the Breakaway Café.

What’s on the program? Every Friday night, there is a unique program of different types of races. Off the track, the Breakaway Café will offer specials on food and/or specialty drinks. A live band will be performing in the plaza during Happy Hour All race programs are family-friendly – the Velodrome also has a mascot for the kids.

The Velodrome is located at 1151 Mosser Rd, Breinigsville, PA 18031, accessible via the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike (I-476 North) to the Lehigh Valley Interchange (US-22). From the Philadelphia area, please allow 75-90 minutes driving. If there is a traffic problem on the Northeast Extension, PA-309 North would be the alternate route.
