Now is the time to sign up for the BCP Prediction Challenge. We will start the timing at the Azalea Garden at Fairmount Park. Riders will predict how long they will be able to complete one of two courses when they register.
- Short course: out and back on Martin Luther King Drive (8 miles elv. 250ft)
- Long course: out and back to Conshohocken on the Schuylkill River Trail (24 miles elv. 1000ft)
You may either go up on Umbria or stick to the Towpath (extra 100 ft of elevation).
The winner for each course will be the rider whose time is closest time to his/her predicted time. You will be on your honor not to look at a watch, timing device, smartphone, nor a bike computer. Use your experience of how your body reacts to speed and hills to help estimate what your time will be.
Preregistration is setup on the Ride Calendar for the short and long courses. Registration will be limited to the first 20 entrants for each course. For either course, remember it is not how fast you ride, but how close you come to your predicted time. You must ride safely, following traffic rules and remaining courteous to pedestrians and other trail users. COVID Rules will be in effect . There will be some nice gift cards to the Cosmic Café for the winners.
Hope to see you there!
