    Level B-/C+: 13.5-14mph, 41 miles. Meet at VFNHP visitor center main parking lot. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Jay Sitkin and I will be co leading a longer and hillier ride in Montgomery and Berks Counties. Lots of climbing, with approx 3600 feet over 41 miles. Moderate pace of 13.5 avg.     Level C: 9-11mph, 32 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Today we'll ride the SRT to the Perkiomen Trail up to Spring Mount. Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt start. Early lunch at Snoozy's Cafe on the return (mile 18). The ride will be a mix of dirt, gravel, loose rocks and paved trail. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind a few rougher sections here and there. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. We expect to list an off-road ride weekly on Thursdays, starting from either Betzwood (going up either the SRT or the Perkiomen) or the New Hope/Lambertville area (exploring both sides of the Delaware River).     Thu June 20, 2019 - Delightful, Delicious "D" (and D+/C-) Ride, Thursday evening Edition - Change of Start Time & Location, for 6/20 only

    Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at College Settlement Camp, Witmer Rd, Horsham. The ride leaves at 5:00 pm. FOR 6/20 ONLY: change of starting time and location, due to an SCU meeting later this evening. Meet in the parking lot of College Settlement Camp on Witmer Road in Horsham. Cycle on the Horsham Power Line Trail. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 20, 2019 - Thursday Night Hill Ride

    Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after-ride drinks at local beer gardens (bring ID & money). Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 20, 2019 - Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. NOTE: START TIME IN SEPT. IS 5:45. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri June 21, 2019 - SCHEDULED Friday Frolic w/Linda. UDHS to Collegeville Wawa, via Evansburg and Skippack

    Level B-: 14mph, 52 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. FOR 6/21: Pretty loop from Upper Dublin High School in Ft. Washington, to the mega-Wawa in Collegeville. Cross through a bit of Evansburg State Park, in both directions. Outbound via Gwynedd, North Wales, and Skippack. Return from Collegeville via Evansburg, Centre Square, and Whitpain. Stand-up lunch stop at Wawa at mile 29. On the return, if another quick break is needed, we can stop at the clubhouse in Centre Square Park on Yost Rd before 202, at mile 42. Lots of peaceful, green roads on this route. Terrain is rolling, but not too steep. Total climbing 2388 ft, per RWGPS.com. Plan is to return ~2:30-2:45pm, since we have the Friday Night Races event tonight at the Velodrome is Trexlertown. Please see the separate listing for the Races noight. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions.     Fri June 21, 2019 - BCP DISPLAY TENT/MEMBERS APPRECIATION NIGHT at Friday Night Races at the Velodrome This is the FIRST of THREE club nights at the Velodrome this summer.

    Meet at Valley Preferred Cycling Center (the Velodrome), 1151 Mosser Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031 (Trexlertown). The event starts at 6:00 pm. BCP will have a display tent in the plaza of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (aka, the Velodrome) in Trexlertown, during the Friday Night Races, sponsored by Bicycling Magazine. Gates open for Happy Hour at 6:00pm, but the ACTUAL RACES DO NOT BEGIN UNTIL 7:30pm, allowing you plenty of time to get there after work. BCP will be exhibiting here to promote our club's membership benefits & perks, as well as rides and upcoming events. MEMBERS APPRECIATION: Stay tuned for updates, re. special promotion for members. The racing program for 6/21 includes the UCI Festival of Speed with sprint matches. A live band will be performing in the plaza, and there will be family- and kid-friendly entertainment. General Admission tickets are $6/person. Every seat has a great view of the track. In addition to the Breakaway Cafe, there is a souvenir booth, where visitors can purchase Velodrome merchandise. There are also other exhibitors in the plaza, where you can participate in raffle drawings.. Come join us for an exciting evening! We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.     Level B: 14.5mph, 49 or 69 miles. Meet at New Holland Park, 400-498 E. Jackson St, New Holland, PA 17557. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. "B"icyling, ice "C"ream, and a swimming "P"ool. A very nice route through Lancaster County, with an ice cream stop at Lapp Valley Farms, then an optional post ride swim at the New Holland Park public pool ($9.00 admission). For those wanting extra miles, we will do another 20 mile loop after finishing the 49 route. Two convenience store stops are included, along with the ice cream stop. Cue sheets will be available.     Sun June 23, 2019 - Sunny Sunday D Ride -- Art Museum to the Highpoint Cafe at Allen Lane

    Level D: 9-12mph, 19 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:03 pm. Ride from the Art Museum to the High Point Cafe at Allen Lane Station and back -- out via Midvale Ave. and the Walnut Lane Bridge bike lane, back via the Wissahickon Trail (paved, not Forbidden Drive). No one will be left behind. Good ride for beginners - one 3/4 mile 4 % climb up Midvale Ave, with a break in the middle. Bring water, money for our stop at the cafe and a spare tube. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co. Mileage will depend on the length of evening daylight. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return.     Mon June 24, 2019 - Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable. Cue sheets will be available.

    Tue June 25, 2019 - RIDE YER BIKE TUESDAY [Central Park, Doylestown start]

    Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, 50 miles. Meet at Central Park, Doylestown. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today we'll ride to The Lumberton General Store (mile 37) for lunch, after a quick pit stop in Lambertville (mile 19). Very scenic ride in PA and NJ, with lots of low trafficked country roads. Generally lots of rolling hills with some fast sections and some hillier sections (nothing steep though). Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). RIDE STARTS @ 9:30 September. Gently paced, relaxed, post-work ride on quiet roads to pedal away workday stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking low-intensity recovery ride. Meet in same parking lot as "Multi-Paced Rides" listed above. Rear of lot, near Giant Market. (LANDMARK: Flourtown Shopping Ctr has McDonald's in the front, facing Bethlehem Pike.) Please bring LIGHTS in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available. Lights not required, but not a bad idea to be prepared. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace. Cue sheets will not be available.     Thu June 27, 2019 - Delightful, Delicious "D" (and D+/C-) Ride, Thursday evening Edition

    Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 27, 2019 - Thursday Night Hill Ride

    Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after-ride drinks at local beer gardens (bring ID & money). Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 27, 2019 - Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. NOTE: START TIME IN SEPT. IS 5:45. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri June 28, 2019 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

    Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.
