    Sat October 24, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED Toss of the Dice - 4 Circles - Marple Newtown

    Level B-/C+: 14mph, 45-80 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Ride Level: Various rides ranging 45-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Please be familiar with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Rider Guidelines for COVID-19 Mitigation, and bring a mask for the rest stop. Preregistration required.     Sat October 24, 2020 - Fall Foliage & History around Hanover-Gettysburg COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT

    Level B-: 14mph, 78 miles. Meet at Hampton Inn of Hanover, PA 309 Wilson Ave, Hanover, PA 17881. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Very pretty and scenic meander, on mainly quiet roads, through York and Adams Counties. From Hanover, cycle through Irishtown, New Oxford, Biglersville and the fruit & orchard region, historic Sachs Covered Bridge, and part of Gettysburg Battlefield. Cross a few creeks and cycle through peaceful countryside and quaint towns. Rest stops include the coffee shop in New Oxford at Mile 13, lunch in Biglersville at Mile 33, photo stop at Sachs Covered Bridge at Mile 46, Gettysburg Battlefield Visitors Center at Mile 52, and a convenience store at Mile 64. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT: Please bring a mask and hand sanitizer. We will practice safe social distancing - 20 ft apart while cycling, 6 ft apart when stopped. At all of our rest stops, we can sit outside for COVID mitigation. START/FINISH in Hanover: Please allow at least 2 hours driving time to/from Philadelphia. Please contact the Leader with any questions, re. location. Since we will be cycling through part of Gettysburg Battlefield and stopping at some of the monuments, please plan on a full day for this ride (8+ hours).     Sat October 24, 2020 - RIDE CLOSED Philly Wandrers - Magical History Tour - The Lazaretto (Level C)

    Level C: 11.5-12mph, 49 miles. Meet at Cadence Cycling and Cafe 201 S. 25th St Philadelphia. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This adventure will take you back to the founding of the Lazaretto in 1799, six years after the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793 killed 10% of Philadelphia's population. Learn the significance of this historic site in TInicum Township from Professor David S. Barnes. Along the way we'll ride through the fall colors of Ridley Creek State Park and appreciate the beauty of the Chester Creek Trail. Refueling stops include Wawa at 15 miles and OB's Jamaican at 30 miles. BCP COVID-19 guidelines will be in effect The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34413300.     Level C: 11.5-12mph, 28 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Later start time for a fall ride. PLEASE remember your mask! No potty at the start :( First half has the hills, then back to the SRT for the return trip. ACME stop at mile 17. Moderate pace with regrouping at hill tops and traffic signals. If you see the GREEN "pencil" icon to the left of the listing, the ride is still open :) Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat October 24, 2020 - Philly Wandrers--Delaware Countians' version--Magical History Tour

    Level D: 9-12mph, 40 miles. Meet at Septa Regional Rail Station in Media, PA. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This tour will start at the Septa Media Regional Rail Station will go to the Lazaretto in Tinicum Township (see the description of the ride from Rob Gusky's listed ride, which is listed to start earlier today) This ride will follow the Chester Creek Trail for some of the trip (which will include photo op of some great fall scenes. We will stop at the Upland Diner for lunch with a Covid 19 protected area. Proceeding then to the Lazaretto for a lecture about the history of the building. After we leave the Lazaretto we will go back through the Cobbs Creek Parkway and follow the "Baltimore Pike" Bike Trail. We will be near the Lansdowne Train Station at about mile 30. There will be an option to take the Regional Rail back to Media. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is Lazaretto from Media.     Sun October 25, 2020 - Hanover to Loganvlle LITE, COVID Precautions in Effect

    Level B-: 14mph, 45 miles. Meet at Hampton inn of Hanover, PA. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty and scenic route around York County, leaving from the Hampton Inn in Hanover, PA, where we would usually have our annual Fall Foliage Weekend. On the way to Brown's Orchards and Farm Market in Loganville, we'll cross Lake Marburg in Codorus State Park. The blazing fall foliage will be reflected in the water. Pass through quaint towns, like Jefferson and Seven Valleys. On the return, we'll cross Lake William and Codorus Creek, and admire more quaint towns. The rest stops (Brown's Orchards, Rutter's convenience store) in Loganville are at the half-way mark. Rolling terrain with a few brisk climbs, but we can stop at the tops to admire spectacular panoramic views of the fall colors, peaceful landscapes and farms, etc. There is slightly less climbing on the return half. Total elevation gain is 2782 ft.     Sun October 25, 2020 - Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. This will be an OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. There will be an opportunity to learn new a new biking skill as well as explore some of the suburban areas looking for a fall foliage photo-op. Please bring helmet and mask (required by the club. Please bring water, dress properly for weather conditions, extra tube, and $ for mid ride snack stop. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 12:00 pm.

    Sun October 25, 2020 - Sunny Sunday C Spinoff - Sharon Hill and Ridley Park

    Level C: 11.5-12mph, 32 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. PLEASE remember your mask! A true C ride that cheerfully waits to regroup. The first half is a neighborhood tour through University City to Kingsessing, then down to Sharon Hill and Ridley Park. WAWA stop at mile 15, then back on the Bicyclist's Baltimore Pike, an 8 mile signed route to Cobbs Creek Parkway. Cue sheets will not be available.     Thu October 29, 2020 - Tim's Thursday Morning Hill Ride

    Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Tim is playing hooky. But the ride goes on. We will do the Route 23 version of Tim's Hill Ride in his absence, exactly as he has done it in the past. Coffee stop at the Thunder Mug Cafe near the end of the ride, as is traditional. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to the start the ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Fri October 30, 2020 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

We will go out through the Main Line with a few hills, but will regroup . Outdoor dining at Kettle Cafe or the Pizza shop for a bite to eat then back to the Cosmic Cafe.     Sat October 31, 2020 - Valley Forge - The Old Way

    Level D: 10mph, 54 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Let's cycle out to Valley Forge Park the old way, before there was a Schuylkill River Trail. That's over Umbria St, River Road, crossing the river at Conshohocken to River Rd on that side. A coffee stop in Bridgeport before climbing the hill to Rt 23 and through the King of Prussia neighborhood. Entering the Park above the visitor center for the park. Once around the Valley Forge Park trail clock wise with a packed lunch at the Carrollon, General Washington Chaple. Return via the SRT. Return atfer 3pm, all day ride!     Sat October 31, 2020 - Spring Mill Saturday C Upper Merion Trail 9:30 AM Start

    Level C: 11.5-12mph, 29 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. 2 miles of the Upper Merion Trail (officially called the Schuylkill Trail West). We will see a small part of the future Chester Valley Trail extension to Norristown, and part of the finished CVT after riding through Valley Forge National Park. PLEASE remember your mask! Food stop at Wegman's in King of Prussia. Moderate pace with regrouping at hill tops and traffic signals. No potty at the start :( Make a pit stop before you arrive. Cue sheets will not be available.
