    Fri February 22, 2019 - ART MUSEUM TO Corner Bakery Cafe in Bala Cynwyd (ad-hoc ride)

    Level C- through D: 10-12mph, 16 to 21 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 11:00 am. A gentle C-/D+ Friday ride from the Art Museum to the Corner Bakery Cafe in Bala Cynwyd -- out via the Manayunk Viaduct, with the route back via the Strawberry Mansion Bridge, Pencoyd Bridge or Green Lane Bridge, depending on the weather -- a shorter route if its cold, a longer route if it's warm. Our pace will depend on the riders present. No one will be left behind. Bring water, money for our stop at the Cafe, and a spare tube. Helmets are required. We will leave late enough to avoid the early morning cold but get back early enough to avoid the late Friday afternoon traffic. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri February 22, 2019 - Friday Afternoon Frolic w/Linda. Schuylkill River Ramble from Bala Cynwyd to Oaks, for Coffee

    Level B-: 14mph, 44 miles. Meet at Trailhead parking lot for Cynwyd Heritage Trail, near Belmont Ave & East Levering Mill. The ride leaves at 1:00 pm. Leader has to work in the morning, so today's Friday Frolic will be in the afternoon. Easy, mostly flat route from Bala Cynwyd, along the SRT, almost to Phoenixville, then to Oaks for a quick coffee stop. On the outbound portion, we cross the Schuylkill River on the Pencoyd Bridge. On the return, we cross the river on the Manayunk Trail Bridge. Total climbing 1440 feet. At the mid-way coffee stop, we have a choice of Wawa, Dunkin' Donuts, or Starbucks.     Sat February 23, 2019 - Early Bird Ride to Coffee in Lansdale (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B/B-: 14.5-15mph, 58 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Roads should be dry by Sat. and morning forecast looks terrific. Assemble at 8:30. Depart at 8:35 SHARP! Going out via Upper Dublin High School and Cedar Hill Road, return via Gwynedd Mercy University and Brushtown Road. Several hills but no killers. 35-minute coffee stop at Backyard Beans. (It's all about the coffee!). Will regroup at top of hills if necessary, but riders are expected to maintain posted speed (what our computers read upon ride completion). PLEASE PREREGISTER: saves time; ensures that I will be able to read important emergency info; and no problem if you change your mind and don't show up since we will not be waiting past the posted departure time. Cue sheets will not be available. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 7:30 am.

    Level B: 14.5mph, 35 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park, Betzwood Area (by rest rooms). The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Every Saturday through March, we will ride 17.5 miles to Kimberton Whole Food store in Kimberton, have an indoor coffee break, then ride 17.5 miles back to Valley Forge. Cue sheets will be available.     Level C- through D: 11-14.5mph, 15-25 miles. Meet at Kayuh Bicycles & Cafe 19th St. & Girard Ave. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This weeks destination wii be determined by the weather. The warmer, the longer the ride. Looks like the rain will hold off till the evening. These rides will focus local neighborhoods around Philadelphia County and will include places like old buildings, historic places and murals. Easy rides for new riders to biking, with Safety Instructions and How To ride in a group. A no drop ride with rest stops and re-group as needed. Helmet and Water a must. A light riding snack suggested. Mid-week update on rides @ Facebook: Kayuh Pedalers. STREET PARKING: S. College St between 20th & 19th.These rides will focus local neighborhoods around Philadelphia County and will include places like old buildings, historic places and murals.     Sat February 23, 2019 - Willow Grove, PA

    Level D: 10mph, 37 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Willow Grove Amusement Park, never been there when it existed, only hear the story that amusement parks were put at the end of a trolley lines, to get customers on Sundays. The little dinner where we will stop for lunch is named the Terminal, most likely it was at the end of the line, Trolley Route 6. We will cycle up Midvale Ave, then into Cresheim Valley and on to Willow Grove. The return will be following the SEPTA suburban train lines back into the city using Ogontz Ave. This is a relatively hilly ride. Cue sheets will not be available. It is optional, but you may preregister until Friday, February 22, 2019 at 9:00 pm.

    Sat February 23, 2019 - Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    Levels A: 16-17mph, 40-55 miles. Meet at Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 9:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat February 23, 2019 - UDHS to Montgomeryville Wegman's CO-LEADER WELCOME

    Level B-: 14mph, 50 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. This is a pretty loop from UDHS in Ft. Washington to the Wegman's food court in Montgomeryville for lunch. Outbound via North Wales, return via Warrington and Maple Glen. Quick Wawa stop if needed at mile 20 in North Wales. Lunch stop at Wegman's at mile 28. On the return, there is another Wawa at mile 41, if needed. Total climbing 2175 feet. Cue sheets will be provided. We will stop to regroup as needed, but try to maintain the advertised pace.     Level C+: 12-14mph, 45-60 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Friendly C+ ride with various destinations: BE SURE TO CHECK THE DAILY RIDE CALENDAR FOR RIDE LEADER AND DESTINATION INFORMATION. Bring money for lunch. We will regroup as necessary and wait at turns within ride level expectations. YOU MUST CARRY A SPARE TUBE. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.

    Sun February 24, 2019 - Hike the Wissahickon

    Hike Moderate Pace on Strenuous Trails, 6-8 miles. Meet at Valley Green Inn. The hike leaves at 9:30 am. Please join us on a hike in the beautiful Wissahickon Gorge of Fairmount Park. We will be hiking mainly on trails but can direct you back to Forbidden Drive if you need a shorter or flatter option. Hiking shoes or boots are recommended and depending on conditions, you might want to bring ice grippers for your footwear. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they must remain on leash even on the trails. If you are parking on the Chestnut Hill side of the Wissahickon Creek, park in the upper lot and do not leave any valuables in your car. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10:00 pm.

    Sun February 24, 2019 - G.R.I.T. Ride

    Level B-: 14mph, 30-50 miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:45 am. Bring your 29er, CX, Gravel or equip your road bike with wider tires as we mashup rides across various asphalt, gravel and sometimes dirt terrains. Expect a good challenge as we grind gravel trails and hit a few climbs with great company for no other purpose than to have fun and put in a few unpaved miles.

    Sun February 24, 2019 - Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. An(Older,Wiser,Longer,Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond depending on the group assembled. Please wear helmet(required by club), dress for winter weather, extra tube, water, and $ for mid ride snack stop. Instructional biking tips will be available for new riders. There might be a hill or two for resistance as well as aerobic training. Recovery time at top of hills will be available. Please bring smiles, stories, jokes, and a good sense of humor.

    Level C: 12mph Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign.

    Sun February 24, 2019 - Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday)

    Level B-: 14mph, 35-40 miles. Meet at Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves. The ride leaves at 1:20 pm. Scenic loop, usually thru Montgomery Co. or Lower Bucks, with brief rest stop. Unless otherwise stated, meet most Sundays at Bruno's (finishing point for many of the Sunday AM Wissahickon hikes). Occasionally meet at another location in Chestnut Hill. Plan to return by 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS. Specific details posted for week. Every Sunday throughout winter (during hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT 2nd Sun in Feb. If weather is not bike-friendly, this ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving throughout winter - maintain base fitness level for the return of spring cycling in March.     Wed February 27, 2019 - Nighttime Phoenixville Dog Ride

    Level C+: 13.5-14.5mph, 25-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:30 pm. The nighttime Phoenixville Dog rides will continue until daylight savings time begins. A strong headlight and taillight are required. The rides are on low traffic roads and feature rolling to hilly terrain. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace over rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation cancels. Ice on the road cancels. Temperatures below 15 degrees at the scheduled start time cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu February 28, 2019 - RideThursdays! 30 miles, 13.5-14mph

    Level C+: 13.5-14mph, 30 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Its been very skimpy road riding weather, so lets start slow, with a shorter (30mile) route. there is 2000 ft climbing, but we wont push the pace. Up to Merry Mead Dairy and back.. No drops, but should be able to ride posted pace. Check back here for ride cancellation or changes. Overnight snow, potential for icy roads, or temps below 34 deg will cancel the ride.
