Wanna work on Labor Day? (No email = No ride) UPDATE: 1 "pretty definite", 1 "maybe". Email closes at 6PM Sunday. Thanks.

    Leader: Michael Fuller, , 610-551-8256

A+ terrain. B pace. Yup, 12 mph is a B pace. This is a hill ride. 26 of them. A hill is defined as 4% or more for 1 / 2 mile or more – 23 of them are “more”. (We don't even do the Wall). The pace listed should be within range of a B rider. If the last rider is maintaining a 12 mph average, I will wait for him/her. All the GPS and mapping programs come up with different numbers for total elevation gain. It's more than 6000 feet. Bring your GPS and give me a number. My average attendance on this loop is 1.6 riders, including me (no need for college calculus to figure out that no one showed up a few times). Therefore, NO EMAIL = NO RIDE.

The Thompson Bucks County pro road race is the replacement event for the Univest Grand Prix. This is a UCI level 1 professional road race right through the middle of Bucks County. I will be hanging out around the course watching the race. The on line route parks you at the King of the Mountain on Wismer Rd right by Tollgate Rd. The race does 6 laps up Wismer Rd. The Q sheet is an “out and back”. If you do not want to stay and watch the race, the Q will take you in reverse back to Ft Washington or Upper Dublin. There are 2 food/H2O/indoor potty stops at Weis Markets in Doylestown (on the way out and back). A map of the race course will be printed on the back of the Q sheet. If you want to watch the race on the screaming downhill off of Tohicken Hill Rd, feel free. Be advised, there will be a very serious climb on Ferry Rd to get back up. The on line map is slightly different from the Q. It takes you back on the official race course to Doylestown. Make sure you get going before the race begins the 6 th climb of Wismer, or the referee will shoo you off the course as the riders climb Carversville Rd up to Doylestown. 8:15 AM SHARP Ft Washington State Park Hawk Watch area. 8:30 AM SHARP Upper Dublin High School. If we keep a reasonable pace, these start times will get us to the course in plenty of time to avoid interfering with the race. Leader: Clifford Schwinger, , 215-872-3559

This ride is an encore presentation (ok - a rerun) of a ride I did in June. A number of people asked if I would be doing it again - so I'm doing it again! There are 600,000 bridges in the US and tens of thousands are classified as "structurally deficient", including several hundred in Philadelphia. Heck, we're going to ride over one on our way to the Art Museum! (Actually it is perfectly safe to ride over this bridge as long as you and your bike do not weigh more than 3 tons.) But it's not all about decay. We'll visit some awesome bridges that are in excellent condition, a couple of old bridges designed by a Paul Cret (a famous Philadelphia architect), and of course some beautiful old crumbling bridges. But think about it. The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and people travel from all over to see it. So why go to Egypt to see decaying structures when we have plenty right here at home! This scenic ride (it really is scenic - I promise!) You can either meet at 39 Lanfair Rd, Cheltenham 19012 where we'll leave at 8:00 sharp, or you can meet us at the entrance to the Azalea Garden (behind the Art Museum) were we'll be stopping to pick up riders who want to start from that location at 9:00. The ride to and from my house will be 35 miles. If you meet us at the Art Museum, the ride will be 15 miles. We will be back to the Azalea Garden at about 12:30 and back to my house by 1:30. The weather forecast for Saturday looks great! The only thing raining on us may be pieces of concrete (only kidding - I think). Bring snacks, spare tube, a flashing rear light (if possible) and water - and your helmet of course. The ride through center city will be flat, but the ride to and from my house will have a couple hills (Midvale), so be prepared for some climbing if you begin at my house. The ride will be at a leisurely pace and we'll be making plenty of stops. Pace while riding will be about 13 mph. You should be comfortable riding on city streets. We will be riding on streets with bike lanes where possible. If you have any questions or need directions to my house, email me or call (215-872-3559)

Back Door Way of Getting to Conshy

    Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037

There are many ways to cycle to Conshohochen, easiest of course is the Schuylkill River Trail. We save that way for the return ride. This will be going out the Mainline and climbing some nice hills especially on Mt. Pleasant Rd. But hills build character! Then we drop down to the McDonalds in West Conshohochen! Just a note for next week's C ride, we will go to Conshy via all the Gulph Rds! Plan to cycle both and see which way you like best!
