    Leader: Michael Fuller, , 610-551-8256

I will be doing my favorite combination of White, Yellow, and Blue trails in Ridley Park. There will be a bit of up and down, and the pace will be fast enough to keep some of that good cardio conditioning. Not for beginners. Boots or knobby shoes appropriate. Should be a bit of fall color in the leaves, so bring the camera. Zippy layers are best. If you have not seen this park before, it is less “creeky” and more “woodsy” than the Wiss. Bring your GPS app and tell me the mileage. (The trails do not show up on the mapping programs, so my distance is an estimate – it is pretty close.) 1 water bottle should get the job done. The map URL puts you in the upper parking lot beside the mansion. See you at 8:45 for a 9:00 start. Start location: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6476523

This is a pretty, scenic loop from Norristown Farm Park, through Montgomery and Chester Counties. Outbound via Royersford and Parker Ford, return via Spring City and Phoenixville. The initial segment of this route is on the flat Perkiomen Creek Trail, and we finish on the flat Schuylkill River Trail. In the middle of the route, we get to explore some of the peaceful roads used on the old BCP Scenic Schuylkill Century. This area is lovely, with panoramic views. Rolling terrain with total elevation of 2802 feet -- nothing too severe. Most of the hills are in the first half of the route. Please click on the route map link below to view the route and the elevation profile. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain at least 13mph average, as advertised. Because of the chilly temperature predicted for Friday, we will have indoor rest stops for something hot: the Coventry Cafe south of Pottstown at mile 24, and on the return, Steel City Coffee at mile 44 in Phoenixville. SHORT-CUT OPTION: We will be passing the Betzwood Picnic Area of Valley Forge Park to use the restrooms, on both the outbound and return segments. If you would like to do a shorter distance, meeting the group at Betzwood will shave off ~10 miles from the total distance. If you plan to meet the group at Betzwood ~10:10am, please contact the Leader.
