These rides tend to be on the hilly side, compared to other start locations. Come on out and see why the regular riders are so enthusiastic about this ride. This is an excellent workout. Rides start at 6:00 and go until sunset. These rides are scheduled every Wednesday from May 4 until September 28. New this year - on the last Wednesday of each month, the ride will be a Day/Night ride, with lights required.

Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides
Level C+ and B, 13-14 and 14-16 mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

Level B-/C+, 13-14.5,15-15+ mph, 56 miles. Wentz Run Park, Anvil Lane & Wentz Rd, Blue Bell, PA. This is next to the Whitpain Township Building, near Wentz Rd & Skippack Pike/PA-73. Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862New route through Montgomery County from Wentz Run Park in Blue Bell to Java's Brewin' in Royersford/Limerick, where John Anthony Seitz (who performed at our Fall Open House Party on 11/1 at the Manayunk Brewery) will be singing and playing the guitar at lunch time. Our route will go through Norristown Farm Park, on both the outbound and return. We'll also ride on a portion of the flat Schuylkill River Trail, and cycle through Arcola, Trappe, and Schwenksville. We'll cross the Perkiomen Creek, and cycle past some pretty parks and golf courses. Rolling terrain with some brisk climbs, but nothing too steep. Total elevation gain is 3082ft. Lunch stop at Java's Brewin' cafe is at mile 34. Before lunch, there are optional rest stops at mile 16 (Wegman's in Collegeville), or at mile 20 (Trappe). On the return, if another quick rest stop is needed, there is a Wawa at mile 48. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year, exploring pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through a variety in different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). Annual Trek to Mount Gretna - Two Leaders, Two Paces
Level B/B-, 14-14.5, 15+ mph, 78/48 miles. Shady Maple Farm Market on PA-23 in Goodville, Lancaster Co. (PA Turnpike West to Morgantown/Exit 298. Take PA-10 South for 1 mile to PA-23 West. Right at PA-23. Straight on 23 West for 8 miles, then turn left into Shady Maple parking lot. The ride leaves at 8:15 am. Cue sheets will be available. Leaders: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862 and Daniel Operacz, , 267-265-9358Beautiful ride through Lancaster and Lebanon Counties for an al fresco lunch at the historic Jigger Shop in the town of Mount Gretna, based on Dave Ziccardi's classic route. Moderately to dramatically rolling terrain with a few flat and sustained climbing sections on the way out. After the short climb out of Mount Gretna, the way back will be noticeably easier and will include a brief water stop. Stock up on fresh produce, Amish goodies, and baked goods after the ride. Anyone wanting to ride a slower pace and/or do fewer miles can opt for a self-guided (after mile 21.3), less hilly 48 mile route which skips Mt. Gretna. We will start PROMPTLY AT 8:30 (no exceptions), so please plan to arrive by 8:15. If you get ahead or fall behind you will need to be able to follow the cue sheet. If it's your first time doing this ride, please contact leader by evening of Friday, June 3 with questions re. driving directions or parking. Bad weather, including extreme heat, will cancel. A go/no-go message will be added to this listing by 6:30 a.m. if the weather is questionable. HEAT ADVISORY: Although this route is LOVELY, we will have limited amounts of shade. This is the 4th year for a ride to honor Bill Cotton's bicycling legacy. I'm doing the ACS ride next week, so I thought this would be a good training ride.Our journey starts from the Roslyn SEPTA train station at 10am. From there, we will ride through Abington & into NE Philly then onto the Art Museum. After a short break, we will ride to Ardmore for lunch @ the market. We will ride back to 30th street to take a train to Jenkintown (Or Glenside) & ride back to Roslyn. The fare is $5.00. There are plenty of stops on this ride: 3 WAWAs, shopping centers, etc. It has some hilly moments, but it is definitely doable. If the group feels adventurous (I've never done this), we can reverse the route, giving us more miles. Those that are familiar with the Ardmore Mkt ride are welcome to colead. Our route will go through Norristown Farm Park, on both the outbound and return. We'll also ride on a portion of the flat Schuylkill River Trail, and cycle through Arcola, Trappe, and Schwenksville. We'll cross the Perkiomen Creek, and cycle past some pretty parks and golf courses. Rolling terrain with some brisk climbs, but nothing too steep. Total elevation gain is 3082ft. Lunch stop at Java's Brewin' cafe is at mile 34. Before lunch, there are optional rest stops at mile 16 (Wegman's in Collegeville), or at mile 20 (Trappe). On the return, if another quick rest stop is needed, there is a Wawa at mile 48. POST-RIDE TAILGATE PARTY: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. We cross the river at Tinicum-Frenchtown, and return to PA over the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge. We will stop to regroup at hills, traffic signals. Total climbing is 5400'. The route includes four rest stops, but please bring energy snacks with you. Also, using a cue sheet clip is highly recommended, in order to plan ahead for your next turn. PARKING at FWSP: Please Park in the auxiliary/overflow lot on West Mill Rd - single-lane driveway with grass on both sides for cars. Driving directions: take the main PA Turnpike (I-276/I-76)westbound to the Lebanon/Lancaster Interchange (PA Route 72, Exit 266). Take PA-72 North for 4-5 miles to Rocherty Rd. Turn right at Rocherty (Sheetz station on the corner). Stay on Rocherty for ~ one mile to Lincoln Ave. Turn left onto Lincoln, and follow Lincoln to South Hills Park. Parking lot is on the right, just past the Lebanon VA Hospital. Please plan on 75-90 mins driving time to Lebanon. Participants can choose to ride the full course (97 mile loop) or finish at the Art Museum (49 miles). Riders who choose the 49 mile route will need to arrange for a ride back to the park.
Ride Description
Will leave from Green Lane Park taking the full length of the mostly gravel Perkiomen trail to Valley Forge where we'll hit a few hilly roads to Conshy for rest stop at Riverbend Cycles at mile 35. From there will hop on the gravel towpath that runs a long the Manyunk canel and down West River Drive into Philly for a break at Lloyd Hall at mile 47. At which point you can either make arrangements to be picked up at the Art Museum or make the return trip back on the gravel Forbidden Drive and a few sections of the more technical dirt and grass Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail where some shouldering or carrying of bike will be required before we reach our last rest stop Merrymead Farm at mile 77. Lastly, back on the tarmac through Evansburg Park and onto the Perkiomen Trial again for the return to Green Lane for much needed tailgate after covering a total of 97 miles including 40 miles off road and 3500 ft of climbing. Optional rest stops at mile 14 and 60 if needed. Bring your 29er, CX, Gravel or equip your road bike with wider tires as we mashup roads across various asphalt, gravel and dirt terrains. Expect a good challenge as we grind gravel trails and hit a few climbs with great company for no other purpose than to have fun and put in a few unpaved miles. And if youβre wondering what is G.R.I.T., It stands for Gravel & Roads Inter Terrain. This ride should appeal to both the roadies and mountain bikers.
