Return via West Norriton, Conshohocken, and Plymouth Meeting. After lunch, the return route includes a flat, 9-mile stretch on the Schuylkill River Trail. Sit-down, indoor lunch stop for something hot at Panera is at mile 26. On our way out to lunch, if a quick rest break is needed for bathroom or snack, at mile 16, there is access to a nearby Dunkin' Donuts. Heebner Park, which has bathroom facilities, is also at mile 16. Total elevation gain is 2016 feet. Tallest climb is Bean Rd > Potshop at mile 15. After lunch, the return route is more gentle. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on virtually every Friday, throughout the year. A 2013 movie of part of the tale, Journey to the West: Capturing the Demons, set several box office records in China. In keeping with Sanzang's journey, please join Helen and me for a hike beginning at the Eastern end of the gorge traveling west to strange new lands where we will overcome the demons of winter lethargy, tame the seasonal blues, retrieve a snack from our back pack, and vanquish the sin of inactivity. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. We'll explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

We ride to Limerick and travel the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) back to quaint, downtown Phoenixville, and the Polish-American Club for a late leprechaun breakfast (call it brunch if you like), followed by a short, flat ride home. (There are a number of eateries/cafes/coffee shops nearby, if you don’t want a full meal) No one dropped. Linda will lead a faster paced longer ride. Routes may be shortened if the Leprechaun makes nasty with the weather. Bring money, snack and water. If you want to join Steve at Parkerford, there is a parking lot at the trail head at Linfield Road and Route 724. You can ride to Phoenixville for breakfast and back mostly on the SRT. The rides will begin the season at 13-14mph and increase to occasional 15-16mph rides as the season slowly progresses. The riding distance is determined by the amount of sunlight. Come on out and discover new roads and routes. We never repeat a route during a single season.

Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 35-45 miles. Centre Square Park, Dekalb Pike/202, between Yost Rd and Jolly Rd. The ride leaves at 12:30 pm. Cue sheets will be available.
Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862For 3/31: Leader has to work in the morning, so this ride will meet in the afternoon. Meet at Centre Square Park on Dekalb Pike/202 between Yost Rd and Jolly Rd, next to St. Helena's Church. Meet in the rear parking lot, near the porta-potty. From Centre Square, we'll ride down to the flat Schuylkill River Trail and head outbound toward Valley Forge or beyond, e.g., Phoenixville, in search of a good cup of coffee. Plan is to return before 5:00pm. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.
