    Italian Fountain Century

    Level A-D, 10-35 mph, 100 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 5:00 am. Cue sheets will be available.

    Do not miss this 17th running of the 21st annual Italian Fountain Century, the ride that Trumps them all! New this year - the "UNWIND." All laps starting after 10:30 AM will switch to clockwise, to unwind any dizziness. Cue sheet: Enter circle to right, turn left. At 10:30 AM, reverse. Fully marked 1/10 mile course.


    Brandywine Valley & The CVT (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B, 14 mph, 52 miles. Chester Valley Trail parking lot. Located near the intersection of Devon Park Dr & S. Warner Rd in Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will be available.

    With forecast temps at 52f, lets ride 52m. Two quick water stops are planned. One optional food stop. Please carry enough nutrition to carry you through a four hour ride. Total climbing will be ~2500', with most of the climbing within the first 25 miles. Please be ready to have "wheels rolling" at 9:00am

    We will cycle out and back over the Schuylkill River Trail to Norristown, PA for a late breakfast at Pauline's Deli on W. Main St. Nice and flat. Good food.


    Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 9:05 AM.     Scenic Saturday Ride - Langhorne, Bucks County to Lambertville, NJ CO-LEADER WELCOME

    Today's pretty ride will be a change of location and scenery. This is a picturesque route in Bucks County, as well as Hunterdon County, NJ, from Langhorne, to Yardley, Washington Crossing, Titusville and Lambertville in NJ, then returning to Washington Crossing and Langhorne. Mostly rolling terrain with some nice, flat stretches along the river. A couple of brisk climbs before the lunch stop, but nothing too steep. Total elevation gain is 2568 ft. Quick snack/rest stop in Washington Crossing at mile 15. Lunch stop in Lambertville at a coffee shop/roastery at mile 32. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: to Cairn University from Philadelphia, heading north to Langhorne: Take US-1 North, and go beyond the Neshaminy Mall. Stay straight on the US-1 North expressway toward Morrisville. Take the exit for Bellevue Ave/PA-413 -- this is a right-lane exit and a right turn onto Bellevue. From Bellevue, in 0.6 mi, turn left onto MANOR Ave. You will see signs for Cairn University. Make a soft left turn onto University Drive (look for the red & white "Welcome" banner). Park in Lot A, the first parking lot on your right, across from the pond and fountain. CO-LEADER WELCOME: If you would like to lead this ride at an alternative speed, thank you!     Assemble at 8:25. we willl leave at 8:30 SHARP! Ride through Belmont, Wynwood, Merion, Darby, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Radnor, Devon, Wayne, Gulph Mills, Conshohocken, Manayunk, etc., returning via Manayunk Bridge and Bala Cynwyd. Many hills, including 10 (or so) relatively long ones. One 30-minute coffee stop in Devon (Pour Richards) at mile 26 or so. (It's all about the coffee.) Will regroup at top of long hills as needed, but riders are expected to achieve advertised pace (which is what our computers read as "average" at the finish). PLEASE PREREGISTER: It saves time and increases substantially my ability to read the important info on the sign-in sheet.

    Ride to Carversville

    Level B-, 14-15 mph, 52-54 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Cue sheets will be available.

    Spring Ramble: Valley Forge to St. Peter's Village.- SHORT-CUT OPTION

    Level C+/B- , 13-15 mph, 60 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12596876.

    Hilly, but scenic, loop to and from St. Peter's Village in Chester County, from Valley Forge. This route is based on a pretty and classic ride developed by BCP's Rich Wagner. (Thank you, Rich!) We take a slight detour away from Valley Forge Park through Chesterbrook, then rejoin Yellow Springs Rd from Mill Rd. Outbound via Birchrunville, Ludwig's Corner, and Nantmeal. Return from St. Peter's via Kimberton and Oaks. We'll cross the French and Pickering Creeks. Before lunch, we have a brief rest stop (for bathroom & quick snack) at mile 25 in Ludwig's Corner. The sit-down lunch stop at St. Peter's Bakery is at mile 35. On the return, if another rest stop is needed, we'll pass Kimberton Whole Foods at mile 49. The final 10 miles are gently rolling or flat. Due to the climbing (total elevation gain is 4072 feet), our speeds will be slightly reduced. We will stop to regroup if needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain the advertised pace. SHORT-CUT OPTION: After the lunch stop, there is an option to shave off ~5 miles, via Ridge Rd to Daisy Point Rd.


    Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D, 8-12 mph, 14-28 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Tuesday evening C+/B- ride from North Penn High School. We will meet at 6pm every Tuesday evening through the end of September. The rides will begin the season at 13-14mph and increase to occasional 15-16mph rides as the season slowly progresses. The riding distance is determined by the amount of sunlight. Come on out and discover new roads and routes. We never repeat a route during a single season.

    Bring yer bike and sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today we'll ride to The DelVal College Farm Market. Expect mostly flat to rolling terrain (no big hills), low trafficked roads (plus the 202 trail) and good company. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). NOTE: Ride starts at 9:30 for the month of May.

    Day / Night Phoenixville Dog Ride

    The Phoenixville Day / Night dog rides return ! Celebrate the return of spring and longer days by joining us for daytime/nighttime rides until the end of April. Starting in the daylight, these rides continue in the dark for another 2-2.5 hours. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. A strong headlight and taillight are required. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation and icy road conditions cancel. Cold temperatures do NOT cancel, but may shorten the ride.

    A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. This year we will have 2 different paced groups. Chris will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Joe will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph.

    Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 35-45 miles. Centre Square Park, Dekalb Pike/202, between Yost Rd and Jolly Rd. The ride leaves at 12:30 pm. Cue sheets will be available.

    For 7/7: Leader has to work in the morning, so this ride will meet in the afternoon. Meet at Centre Square Park on Yost Rd at Dekalb Pike/202, behind St. Helena's Church. Meet in the rear parking lot, near the porta-potty. From Centre Square, we'll ride down to the flat Schuylkill River Trail and head outbound toward Valley Forge or beyond, e.g., Phoenixville, in search of a good cup of coffee. Plan is to return before 5:00pm. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

    Assemble at 7:50. We willl leave at 7:55 SHARP! Ride through East Falls, Mount Airy, Chestnut Hill, Wyndmor, Oreland, Flourtown, Manayunk, and Bala Cynwyd. Several hills, but no killers. Thirty minute coffee stop at Starbucks in Flourtown at mile 20 or so. (It's all about the coffee.) Will regroup at top of long hills if necessary, but riders are expected to do the advertised pace (which is what our computers should read as "average" at the finish). Please PRE-REGISTER. It saves time and improves substantially my ability to read your emergency information.

    Destination is Bruno's via Chestnut Hill. Return via Andorra Road and SRT. About 12 miles each way. Bring Water, extra tube, sunscreen, $ for mid ride snack stop, and helmet (required). There willl be hills for extra exercise and experience. This ride will be longer and hillier that normal D rides. Check back several days before the ride to see destination and if on-line route map will be available.


    Toss of the dice - Paris-Roubaix Edition - Summer Start Time 9:15 am

    Level C+, 13-14.5 mph, 45-60 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am.

    Friendly C+ ride to Devon Whole Foods. 45 miles and 2,300 feet of climbing. In honor of this weekend's Paris-Roubaix bike race, this ride will have a special "[Hill] of the North" ending. Bring money or food for lunch. Nobody is dropped and we'll regroup as needed, but be prepared to ride at the upper end of the average speed range. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.


    Lansdale to Ottsville Whole Foods CO-LEADER WELCOME

    Level C+/B- , 13-15 mph, 54 miles. Pavilion Shoping Center in Lansdale, on Broad St. between Whites Rd & Hancock St.. The ride leaves at 9:45 am. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/11651537.

    Scenic loop from Lansdale to the Kimberton Whole Foods Market in Ottsville, Bucks County. Outbound via Hatfield and Perkasie, return via Plumsteadville, Peace Valley Park, and Colmar. Brief rest stop for snack and bathroom at mile 19 in Pennridge. Lunch stop at Kimberton Whole Foods in Ottsville at mile 29. On the return, if another water stop is needed, we pass a Wawa at mile 49. Total elevation gain is 2529 feet. Please click on the route map link below to preview the elevation profile - there is a significant climb in the beginning, and one at the end. The middle of the route is mostly rolling. We will regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain the advertised pace.     RIVERS, CREEKS, & BRIDGES in HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ CO-LEADER WELCOME

    Lovely, scenic route along peaceful roads in Hunterdon County. This ride is based on the "Three Bridges Loop" by author Tom Hammell. Many of the roads on this loop are familiar to us from other club rides, also. We'll cross creeks and brooks, as well as the Raritan River. Total climbing 2992 feet. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 13mph, as advertised. There are two Wawa rest stops - at mile 16 in Flemington, and at mile 33 in Three Bridges. On the last stretch of the ride, if another rest stop is needed, there is another convenience store near mile 51 on the cue sheet.     The Phoenixville Day / Night dog rides return ! Celebrate the return of spring and longer days by joining us for daytime/nighttime rides until the end of April. Starting in the daylight, these rides continue in the dark for another 2-2.5 hours. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. A strong headlight and taillight are required. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation and icy road conditions cancel. From Centre Square/Whitpain, we'll ride through Norristown Farm Park on our way to the flat Schuylkill River Trail to Phoenixville. Ride through Royersford, then cross the river into Chester County - Spring City, Birchrunville, and Kimberton. From Kimberton, we return toward Valley Forge, the flat Schuylkill River Trail, and Norristown Farm Park. On the outbound, we have a quick rest stop at Wawa at mile 22. Many hills, including 10 (or so) relatively long ones. One 30-minute coffee stop in Devon (Pour Richards) at mile 26 or so. (It's all about the coffee.)     Hilly but scenic meander from Bala Cynwyd to the Wegman's in Malvern for a snack, then return to Bala Cynwyd. Outbound via Cynwyd Heritage Trail, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Paoli. Return via the Chester Valley Trail, Strafford, Wayne, and Villanova. On the outbound, there is a Wawa if needed at mile 10 in Bryn Mawr, and a porta-potty in The Willows Park at mile 15. Indoor food stop at Wegman's at mile 30. On the return, there is a 6-mile flat stretch on the Chester Valley Trail. We will stop to regroup as needed.     The Phoenixville Day / Night dog rides return ! Celebrate the return of spring and longer days by joining us for daytime/nighttime rides until the end of April. Starting in the daylight, these rides continue in the dark for another 2-2.5 hours. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. A strong headlight and taillight are required. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation and icy road conditions cancel. Cold temperatures do NOT cancel, but may shorten the ride.

(Face of America leaves from Valley Forge.) GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions.
