Level C, 12 mph, 85 miles. Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
    Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037

Fort Mot, NJ, Delaware Fort, Delaware City. I have always wanted to cycle to Fort Mot, near Salem, NJ then take the tourist ferry to Fort Delaware State Park in the middle of the Delaware River, finalizing the river crossing to Delaware City, DE ever since John Boyle, moderator of Cycling in the Suburbs' Facebook page mentioned this in a Facebook message on the completion of the Delaware and Chesapeake Canal Trail. This an 85 mile ride with a boat ride in the middle. Meet 8 AM at Cosmic Cafe for a starter cup of coffee, then to the 10th and Locust St Lindenwald Highspeed Line station for a lift over the Ben Franklin Bridge to Camden, NJ where we will follow the Google Maps bike route suggestions with modifications by the leader as seen fit to Fort Mot NJ State Park. We need to make the 12:30 pm ferry departure, so no dilly dalling, 12 mph pace but still 10 mile hour average. The ride back up the Pennsylvania side will be more relaxed since we can be cycling until the sun sets. With maybe a half hour or an hour on the Delaware Fort island, a food break in Delaware City, the 42 mile return will get us back to our start location before 7 PM. The Ferry Fee is $ 12.00 . Pack a lunch or pay as you eat. Rain one hour before start, cancels.

Total elevation gain 3123 feet. MIN-TAILGATE PARTY at the Finish: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

Adventure Cycling has declared September 30, 2017 as Bike Your Park Day (www.adventurecycling.org/resources/bike-your-park-day/) In response to this initiative, I am leading a ride from Exton Park on the Chester Valley Trail to Valley Forge National Park and back. The round trip is 30 miles mostly on paved trail with a short road link from the CVT to VFNP. Bring water bottle and a light snack or lunch for a rest stop at VFNP. Tandem and single bikes welcome.
