Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. Thursday Night Hill Ride
Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.
Leaders: Simon Knight, , 215-219-9555 and Eugene Sobel, , 215-964-4884A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

One 35-minute coffee stop in Devon (Pour Richards) at mile 26 or so. (It's all about the coffee.) Will regroup at top of long hills as needed, but riders are expected to achieve advertised pace (which is what our computers read as "average" at the finish). PLEASE PREREGISTER: It saves time; and increases substantially my ability to read the important info on the sign-in sheet; and it does not matter if you do not show up since we will not wait beyond the scheduled start time. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. This week we'll climb ~ 4,500 ft. The ride will end at Parks on Tap at Rittenhouse Town (bring ID). Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will be available.

We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable.

On the outbound, at mile 15, we can take a quick bathroom break at Del Val College Market in Doylestown. The Lumberville Store is at mile 27. On the return, if another bathroom break is needed, there is a Wawa near the route around Mile 47. SHORT-CUT OPTION: if you would like to shorten your miles to return earlier, there is an option to turn around in Doylestown, which would cut off ~20 miles. Total climbing for the 54-miler is 2341 ft - mostly rolling. Plan for the 54-miler is to return before 1:00pm.

We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable.

Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862This mostly flat ride along the Delaware Bay is based on a route byTom Hammell of the Princeton Freewheelers, and author of the book “Road Biking in New Jersey”, as well as roads used by BCP Dave and the Jersey Shore Cycle Club. Cycle through quaint small towns in Cumberland County, NJ, across placid lakes, rivers and ponds, past beaches and a wildlife refuge filled with waterfowl, and the East Point Lighthouse. Pass the tranquil Lake Nummy in Belleplain State Forest. Total elevation gain is only 574 feet. In lieu of hills, we should expect headwinds. We will have long continuous stretches without slowing or stopping. We have Wawa rest stops at mile 20 and mile 43, as well as a sit-down lunch stop at mile 61. Please bring plenty of fluids, energy snacks. Bringing a CUE SHEET CLIP is highly recommended, in order to keep your cue sheet handy. Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037Wanting to cycle tour to the Kent County Spring Fling, Baltimore Bicyle Club? Join me for the two day ride to Chestertown, MD. on Washington College Campus. We will overnight in Smyrna, DE Thursday and on to Chestertown, MD Friday, early afternoon. Dining out for all meals, motel overnight will be our individual costs. The route will go down to Wilmington along the Individual Highway, The Jack A Merkell Trail to New Castle, DE, and Rt 9 toward Smyrna, 50 miles. The next day's ride is a straight shot South, 35 miles. You could arrange from other members for a ride back on Monday but I will cycle back via Elkton, MD, anther two days of cycling and motel overnight. All you need to do, register for the event with the Baltimore Bicyle Club, panniers on your bike to carry your clothes for three days including inclement weather gear. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

Mostly Flat Century+ on Maryland's Eastern Shore (w/short-cut options available)

Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862Century trek on mostly flat-to-gently-rolling roads from Chestertown, MD, north to Chesapeake City (along the C & D Canal), across the Mason Dixon line to quaint Middletown and Odessa, DE, then returning to Maryland's Eastern Shore. Cycle mostly on lightly traveled roads with wide shoulders. Total elevation gain is 2164 feet. We'll pass through charming small towns, and cross the scenic Sassafras and Bohemia Rivers. Rest stops available at mile 19 (Galena), 39 (Chesapeake City), 51 (Wawa in Middletown, DE), 61 (Wawa north of Odessa). On the return, we can stop in Galena again at mile 88. Stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 14mph, as advertised. SHORT-CUT OPTION: On the return, staying straight on 213 South directly to Chestertown will shave off several miles. Please note: in lieu of hill-climbing, we'll have HEADWINDS for part of the route. Explore the Upper Portions of the Schuylkill River Trail

Leader: George L. Yarnell, , 610-626-3338Explore the SRT from near Phoenixville to Reading at an OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride. While some of the trail north of our start will be on crushed stone it can be done by road bikes. We will go into downtown Reading to the Peanut Bar and Grill or if we are too tired and hot we will go to the Queen Dinner in West Reading. Bring water and extra water, extra tube, helmet (required by the club), sunscreen. We will have several stops along the way. It will be a long day, so be prepared for changes in weather. There might be an eagle or hawk along the river.

The ride will initially be a mix of dirt and loose rocks, and then become mostly smooth crushed limestone and paved trail. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind a few rougher sections here and there. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. We expect to list a ride weekly on Thursdays, starting from either Betzwood (going up either the SRT or the Perkiomen) or the New Hope/Lambertville area (exploring both sides of the Delaware River). Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862Pretty route from Glenside through Montgomery County, to Evansburg State Park. Outbound via Ambler, West Point, and North Penn. Return from Evansburg via East Norriton, Centre Square, and Flourtown. Two quick WAWA rest stops - one at mile 18 (North Penn), and one at mile 35 (East Norriton). Total climbing is 2259 ft, as per https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12735572. POST-RIDE MINI-TAILGATE PARTY: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.
