    From Fischer's Park in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, PA to Spor's General Store in Trumbauersville, Bucks County for ICE CREAM and lunch. This scenic, shady route is based on Rich Wagner's beautiful, longer "The Animal Ride". Thank you Rich! 2021 Updates - added Skymount Lake (twice) and Barrel Run Trail (just before Trumbauersville). Lake Skymount (mile 15.2 and 29.2) and Barrel Run Trail (mile 23.3). Lunch at Spor’s General Store (mile 25.0). Graceful Glen Alpacas are at Mile 8. Total climbing 2813 ft.


    Ridge Avenue - the 6700 Block

    We will cycle up to Glenside via Emlen St and Cresheim Valley Dr, up toward Willow Grove but not quite that far and stop at Daryl's Pastries Inc. The return, will parallel the Reading Railroad line back into Philadelphia, riding Ogonz Ave in Philadelphia to Fairmont Park.     Toss of the Dice 2.0 - Devon

    Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool.     Pretty and scenic route mostly on peaceful roads in Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. From Upper Makefield/Yardley, we cross the river at Washington Crossing, then head toward the Hopewell/Pennington area. Quick rest stop at Mile 15 at Sansone's Farm Market - they have a portapotty, as well as hot chocolate & hot cider. Meander through Ringoes on our way to the Bagel Barn & Deli in Sergentsville at Mile 30. Return from Sergentsville using the new part of Lower Creek Rd that's been rebuilt and re-opened. Re-cross the river at Bull's Island. If another rest stop is needed on the return, we'll be in Peddler's Village at Mile 44. Toward the end of the ride, we can stop at the 9/11 Memorial at the Garden of Reflection at Mile 57. Total climbing 3388 ft.


    Philly Wandrers - Crumb Bum Adventure

    Learn the storied significance of crumb bum in Philadelphia's history. Be prepared for four 250' climbs, gravel trails in the Wissahickon and a relaxing lunch at the Persian Grill. Note: Wider tires are recommended for the 3 miles of gravel.

    FOR 12/5: Let's meet at the Scout House at the intersection of Wigard and Henry Ave. (726 Wigard Ave.) for a pretty & rejuvenating adventure on both sides of the creek. Note that there is no bathroom break until we are near the end of the hike at the Valley Green Inn. Hiking boots/shoes recommended and YakTrax if icy. Well behaved dogs welcome, but must be on leash at all times.


    Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-14mph, 14-28 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm.

    OWLS(Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. Today ride will follow the Schuylkill River Trail out and back with a short instructional period of learning an essential biking skill. The ride will mostly be flat.     Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride - BRUNO's to OAKS, via SRT

    FOR 12/5: Mostly flat ride to & from Oaks, via the SRT. Quick rest break at Wawa or Dunkin' Donuts for coffee & bathroom. Please bring lights, as we return close to dark. Starting in mid-January, daylight will gradually begin to get longer past 5:00pm - we'll start to notice the days getting longer again. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity.     FOR 12/10: Today's ride is in the afternoon, due to another commitment in the morning (very sadly, a funeral). Flat route - only 943 ft. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity.     This a ride out the Schuylkill River Trail to Conshohocken, crossing over to the left bank into Bridgeport. I am changing the reshment stop to the deli in Bridgeport. I really need to be home by 2pm. While we are there we will cycle up the Chester Valley Trail Connecter to Dekalb Pike, Rt 202! From there back down Dekalb Pike back into Bridgeport and across the Schuylkill River to Norristown. Return via the SRT all the way. If it is very cold and extremely windy, we will only go as far as Tricycles at the Mill Creek Train Station.     Chadds Ford to Hoopes Reservoir in Delaware, via Brandywine River. COVID PRECAUTIONS in Effect

    Hilly but pretty and meandering loop through southern Chester County, PA and northern Delaware, crossing the scenic Brandywine Creek a few times, as well as a few other creeks and streams. This route is based on a ride led by Tom Madle and Katie Eberhart, with an additional loop around the lovely & peaceful Hoopes Reservoir. We'll ride on "Stargazer Rd", and through green, rural countryside. Optional outdoor quick stop in Unionville at mile 19. Outdoor rest stop at mile 27 in Kennett Square - choice of eateries. Total elevation gain is 3000 ft. We will stop to regroup as needed. Most of the climbing is in the first half. Please bring an on-bike snack with you, as well as two water bottles. COVID PRECAUTIONS remain in effect - please bring a mask and hand sanitizer, and maintain safe distancing (20 ft apart while cycling, at least 6 ft apart when stopped).

    We'll cross the Ben Franklin Bridge to explore one of the most hidden and beautiful spots on the Camden-Pennsauken waterfront. After riding through Palmyra, we'll see what holiday decorations are up on the Victorian homes in Riverton. Crossing the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge back into Philly we will cruise down the East Coast Greenway towards our lunch stop in Port Richmond, The Dinner House where the biggest decision of the day will be pierogi or golabki!

    FOR 12/12: let's meet at the parking lot next to 4115 Gypsy Lane for a pretty & rejuvenating adventure of about 5.75 miles on both sides of Lincoln Drive with a visit to the 100 Steps and Lover's Leap. There are steep and rocky uphills and downhills on this hike. Unfortunately, there will be no restroom stops on this hike. Hiking boots/shoes recommended and YakTrax if icy.     Our premiere group bike ride to introduce novice cyclists to club cycling. You will learn the rules of the road, skills for cycling on the road. Tips for winter cycling and meet new cycling friends who friendship will last a life time and since you are cycling that life time will be longer. All you need is a helmet and working bicycle. Today's destination will be to the Cherry St Pier for a Christmas theme performance of A Very Merry Tuba Christmas. A full volunteer Tuba band/orchestra. Come and toot your horn! Social and educational meeting for members, to help us "Keep Rolling Through the Winter," that is, how to maintain one's physical fitness & conditioning (via outdoor and/or indoor training), how to minimize winter weight gain, how to winterize one's bicycle for harsh weather & road conditions, and, how to dress properly for outdoor activities in the cold. Physical Therapist Greg Kowal will present training techniques to maintain strength, and aerobic conditioning & stamina in the off-season (which helps to prevent winter weight gain). Main Line Cycles will present the topics of how to winterize one's bike, as well as how to dress effectively for outdoor exercise in the cold. The topic of proper illumination for riding in the dark will be covered. We will have time for socializing, and for posing questions to our expert presenters. REFRESHMENTS will be served.     FOR 12/19: Let's meet at the intersection of Lincoln Dr. and W. Allens Lane (Use 7209 Lincoln Dr. for GPS and park along Lincoln Dr.) for a pretty & rejuvenating adventure of about 5.8 miles down by the Cresheim Creek to the White Trail over to Monastery Stables and back through Capenter's Woods. There are steep and rocky uphills and downhills on this hike. Unfortunately, there will be no restroom stops on this hike. NOTE: On the test hike, we did find that we can take a short detour at the 4 mile mark and visit the bathroom at Kitchen's Lane and Forbidden Drive. Hiking boots/shoes recommended and YakTrax if icy. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.


    Germantown Espresso Bar - Maplewood Mall

    Level D: 10mph, 15 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Everyone so enjoyed the Germantown Espresso Bar and the Maplewood Mall that we will cycle there again this Friday. We will use a different routes out and back than last we. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.
