    We’ll go down Hollow Rd (yay!) to Flat Rock Park, then up Mill Creek to Consho State Rd. We’ll then move over to Fairview Rd for a scenic descent, then Righters Mill Rd and homeward. Optional stop at The Landing Kitchen.

    Friday Afternoon Frolic w/Linda. Bala Cynwyd to Valley Forge and Oaks

    Level B-: 14mph, 40-45 miles. Meet at Barmouth Trailhead for the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, at the bottom of East Levering Mill Rd near Belmont Ave. The ride leaves at 1:30 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

    For 2/3: Leader has to work in the morning, so this will be an afternoon ride. Cycle the Cynwyd Heritage Trail and the Manayunk Bridge Trail, then wind through Manayunk to the SRT. Outbound on the SRT toward Valley Forge, possibly to Oaks, depending on time. Rest stop midway before returning on the same route. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity.     Plan B Winter Hike: Tyler State Park in Newtown, Bucks County

    Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 6+/- miles. Meet at Tyler State Park, 101 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940, Lower Plantation Parking Lot on Main Park Rd.. The hike leaves at 10:00 am.

    Please join us for a 6+/- mile hike in Tyler State Park, along the scenic and meandering Neshaminy Creek. We can also hike past the picturesque Schofield Ford Covered Bridge.🥾 PLEASE PREREGISTER ahead of time, so that the Leader can plan for group size, and to save yourself writing time at the meeting point. SPECIAL NOTE: Due to the rain on Thursday & Friday, trails may be muddy. Hiking gear is strongly recommended: hiking shoes/boots, hiking poles, and grippers or microspikes for under your shoes. If trails are very muddy, we will switch to the paved trails. MEETING POINT at Tyler State Park: the "Lower Plantation" parking lot on Main Park Rd, after entering the park from Swamp Rd.     Hike/Interpret the Wissahickon

    Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 5.5 miles. Meet at Wissahickon Environmental Center. The hike leaves at 9:30 am.

    Wissahickon Environmental Center (the Tree House) up the hill from Northwestern Avenue and Andorra Road. Parking and Public Transit directions: https://wectreehouse.wixsite.com/findyourpath/directions We will interpret the geology, history, and trees on our way down to Valley Green on the upper trails returning on Forbidden Drive. See the oldest rock formation on the east coast! See the rocks that formed under water from magmatic instructions eons ago. Look up at the big trees! Listen for the great horned owl. Discover the old mill foundation smack in the middle of Forbidden Drive. All the above is possible if the weather cooperates, so dress for the weather (including footwear). Note that there is no bathroom break until we are at the Valley Green Inn or at the Tree House, perhaps. Well-behaved dogs (no loud, barking dogs) welcome but must be on a short leash at all times.     Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm.

    OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. Please wear helmet(required by the club) and have mask & vacination proof for rest stop, if required. Please dress properly for cold weather, and bring extra tube and tools to repair flat, water, $ for mid-ride snack. If the road conditions are icy, we will have a flat tire fixing demonstration and practice. I will bring extra-wheel, tube, and tire to allow you to practice. The ride is limited to 10 riders, but the flat fixing is limited to 4. I am listing preregistration required for the ride.     For 2/6: Forecast calls for sunny skies, with high temperature ~34*. Since last weekend was snowy, and we had rain on Thursday & Friday, this route is easy and mostly flat, from Bruno's to Oaks, via the SRT. Brief rest stop for coffee in Oaks at Wawa or Dunkin Donuts (or Starbucks) at the midway point in Oaks. Return via SRT to the Spring Mill trailhead, then meander back up to Bruno's. Total climbing 1328 ft. GOOD NEWS: Days are gradually getting longer. Sunset today is at 5:25pm. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity.     There will be a few hill climbs on this loop, but we will take a relaxed pace and regroup at hill tops and traffic signals. Food stop at Whole Foods in Spring House. No potty at the start. Make a pit stop before you arrive.


    SUNSHINE & GOOD COFFEE - Yardley, Bucks Co. to Hopewell & Pennington, NJ. CO-LEADER(S) WELCOME

    Level B-: 14mph, 45 miles. Meet at Large parking lot on South Main St, Yardley, PA. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34966922.

    Pretty and scenic loop from Yardley, PA (Bucks Co.) to Washington Crossing, then a meander through historic Mercer County, NJ. Stop in the darling town of Hopewell, and stop for coffee/lunch at the popular Boro Bean cafe, at Mile 24. Boro Bean has outdoor tables. From Hopewell, cycle past more green landscapes to Pennington. We'll cross a couple of brooks/creeks. On the return, if another rest break is needed, we can stop in Pennington at Mile 33, or on the PA side of Washington Crossing at Mile 40. The middle portion of the route has some hills, but no killer climbs. The beginning and final stretches on River Rd and River Drive are flat. Total elevation 2134 ft. START/FINISH in Yardley: Large parking lot at 25 South Main St, where Vince's Pizza is located. There is a Wawa across the street. There's also a bike shop on South Main.     For 2/18: Leader has to work in the morning, so this will be an afternoon ride. Cycle the Cynwyd Heritage Trail and the Manayunk Bridge Trail, then wind through Manayunk to the SRT. Outbound on the SRT toward Valley Forge, possibly to Oaks, depending on time. Rest stop midway before returning on the same route.     Explore peaceful trails in Valley Green, with a rest break at the mid-way point. We'll explore some different trails today. Well-behaved canine hikers on leashes are always welcome to join us. If trails are snow- or ice-covered, wearing some type of "Yak Tracks" or microspikes under your shoes is highly recommended for safety. We will meet at the Highland train station parking lot, just for a change of pace. This is on Seminole, between Gravers Lane and Highland Ave. From the train station, we'll walk down Rex Ave, to access the park trail. If we need to shorten the route, we have some options to shave off some of the distance.

    🕤 🥾 Join us for a moderate Sunday morning hike from Mt Airy to Chestnut Hill and back through the forests along the Wissahickon with a short break in the middle. 🌲🌲🌳🌲 From the Mt Pleasant Trailhead we'll hike above the Wissahickon along the White Trail and up Cresheim Creek, where we'll stop briefly for coffee, light refreshments, and a restroom break at the home of one of our hikers. ☕🫖🚻 We'll hike back down the Cresheim Creek and take the White Trail to Valley Green, then continue one mile along Forbidden Drive, across the Mt.
