    For Feb. 2 - Leader has to work in the morming, so this will be a quick and easy out & back ride on the flat SRT (or SRT > CVT) for coffee/snack at half-way point. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing.

    ROUTE UPDATED, as of Friday evening: We found a quieter road on the return, which avoids busy Hilltown Pike. We tweaked the route, in case riders may need a bathroom stop befor or after the lunch stop in Dublin. At mile 18.6, we can stop at Tabora Farm Orchard, if the portapotties are needed. Lunch in Dublin is at Mile 22. On the return, if riders need a quick stop to refill their bottles or to use the restrooms, there is a Wawa at Mile 30. Also on the return, if riders are yearning for Bucks County Biscotti, we can take a small detour onto Creamery Rd for the biscotti. [Pretty loop through Montgomery and Bucks Counties, stopping at the Dam Good Cafe for lunch/coffee in the quaint town of Dublin at the half=way point. If riders would prefer a shorter lunch stop, we can stop at the nearby Wawa or Weis Market food court, instead. Total elevation gain is 1856 ft, with most of the climbing in the middle of the route, and no extreme climbs. Outbound via Gwynedd, return via North Wales. Pretty Bucks County farm country in the middle.] CO-LEADER(S) WELCOME to lead this ride at an alternative pace, so that we can have riders in more than one group.

    Causal paced ride for new or returning to biking after a layoff riders. Please wear helmet(required by the club.) Please bring extra tube and tools to fix a flat, water, proper dress for cold weather(warm gloves, layers of clothing, warm hat to cover the ears, chapstick, and $ for mid-ride snack stop. We might have a hill or two to help get us warm and for physical conditioning. The ride might be shorter if it really cold, but wrong clothes will not make riding in cold enjoyable.

    FEB 4: Chestnut Hill to Audubon/Trooper for Coffee. Weave through Chestnut Hill, Wyndmoor, and Flourtown, to access the flat Schuylkill River Trail via Joshua Rd. (The intersection of Church Rd & Ridge Pike is closed to traffic, currently, due to road work.) SRT outbound to Audubon/Trooper, for coffee at either Wawa, or Panera, if riders prefer to sit down inside for a little bit. Return to Chestnut Hill via SRT > Plymouth Meeting > Flourtown. Meeting Point: Trailhead parking lot at 8799 Seminole St (at West Chestnut Hill AVe). GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving through winter - maintain base fitness for spring cycling in March.

    Let's spin out the cobwebs from the past few weeks. Temps look to climb as high as 60F on Saturday. Early start to get the clearest lanes on the SRT. Wheels out from Spring Mill train station lot at 9am, head west on the SRT to Oaks trailhead, back to Spring Mill, rinse and repeat one more time. The goal is 50 miles; riders who want less can stop after the first lap. Elevation? It's the SRT. Cue sheets? It's the SRT. No potty at the start; we will pass at least two potty areas along the route, if needed. Bring hydration, snacks, and a super fun attitude!

    Pretty and scenic meander from Bucks County to peaceful Hunterdon County for coffee & lunch. Cycle through New Hope and Lambertville, on our way to Ringoes. [Hooray - the pedestrian path on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge remains open for cyclists and walkers!] Quick rest break if needed in Lambertville ~Mile 14, or at Ringoes Country Deli at Mile 22. Lunch at Covered Bridge Cafe & Market in Sergeantsville at Mile 27. Return from Sergeantsville toward the river via the winding and picturesque Lower Creek Rd. Recross the river to PA at Bulls Island. Quick rest break available if needed at Bulls Island, or the Lumberville Store on the PA side, at Mile 34. Pass peaceful creeks and green landscapes.     Decided to aim for the flats of NJ and the opportunity to ride my favorite mass transit in the area-- the River Line! This ride has something for everyone-- gritty city Camden, river views, farm land, pie/lunch and a train ride! For those who don't want to meet on the N. Side of the Ben Franklin on the PA side and have to carry your bike down the stairs, PATCO can get you across the river and you can meet us on the NJ side of the bridge ( North Side) . Want to drive across the bridge? Park near Rutgers Camden as that is where we will end up. Want to ride more? Consider continuing to Trenton and taking SEPTA home, or turning around at Delanco ( approx mile 25) and returning to Camden or taking the Tacony Palmyra bridge back to the PA side. Want to ride a bit less? Our route follows much of the Riverline so you can hop on and get back to Camden with ease.

    Saturday's projected high temperature will be ~39*, so this ride will be a 39-mile, pretty route to Broad Street Grind in Souderton for something hot (coffee, cocoa, soup). Outbound via West Point and Kulpsville, return from Souderton via Lansdale and Gwynedd. Coffee/lunch stop at the warm & cozy Broad Street Grind is at Mile 20. Total elevation is 1957 feet. Most of the climbing is in the middle of the route, just before the lunch stop. START/FINISH at Weaver's Way Co-Op in Ambler: please park in the reat of the lot.     Scenic hike with some historic landmarks here and there, including Washington's Headquarters and the Valley Forge train station, which looks like a movie scene.. Hiking poles and sturdy hiking shoes are strongly recommended. Total climbing 993 ft. Short-cut option available on the second half. Meteriologist Misty St. Cloud says things will warm up by Tuesday so let’s head out to the Farmer’s Market, and we’ll enjoy our snack on the sunny patio or inside if you prefer..We’ll take Sedgley up to the Park, across the Strawberry Mansion Bridge to Chamounix and then to BMA and Highland. And then wind our way to Ardmore.Coming back we'll take the slightly longer route through Cobbs Creek. Possible showers by early afternoon so let's leave at 10 AM sharp!
