Level D, 10 mph, 55-60 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Let's try this again, Snowed out in January. Another long and easy ride out on the Schuylkill River Trail, passing Valley Forge National Park along the way. A coffee break at the Outbound Station on the trail in Conshohocken. We will need to take Port Providence Rd and then Phoenixville - Collegeville Rd to cross the river and check out the progress of the trail there. Maybe we can challenge ourselves by taking the old route back to Conshohochen, then the bike trail to Philly. Rain/snow one hour before ride start cancels the ride.

Sit down lunch (optional) at the Genuardi's Market in Eagleville at mile 17. This ride heads out over familar rolling roads through Blue Bell with only one big climb (Bean Rd.) on the way out. We'll hop on the Atlantic City Line train at the 30th St. station @ 10:30am with our bikes ($7.50 one way), get off at Hammonton then bike to Ocean City,NJ then to Absecon,NJ, where we'll get back on the train and head back to 30th St. station in Philly. Anyone for hot coffee, tea, or cocoa, mixed with warm conversation? Let's head west/NW toward the Main Line, at an easy, relaxed pace, in search of a welcoming cafe. We will climb a few hills here & there, but slow & gentle climbing (or walking up hills) is perfectly fine on this ride. We'll stop to regroup as often as needed. Cue sheets will be provided, but the route can be adjusted as needed/desired. Ride is cancelled in the event of rain/snow/ice/slick roads, or if the temperature at start time is less than 29F. Today, we'll cross Ben Franklin Bridge and press south to explore some historic regions in NJ. First, we'll stop at the Red Bank Battlefield in National Park, NJ, along the banks of the Delaware, and move on to the quaint, former country resort of Wenonah, NJ. At 43 miles, this will be a nice waker-upper for your legs for spring time. Nobody dropped!
