Wed August 31, 2011 - Wednesday 'Light-Up-The-Night' Dinner Ride (ad-hoc ride)
Level B-, 15-17 mph, 56 miles. Behind Art Museum, Azalea Garden. The ride leaves at 3:00 pm. Join us for a dinner ride out to Phoenixville, complete with night ride return to Philly. Meet at Azalea Garden, behind the Art Museum in Philly for a 3:00 pm departure. The ride out will be made in daylight, and about half of the ride back will be made IN THE DARK - though we will be mainly on the Schuylkill River Trail bike path. Given the night riding, YOU MUST HAVE A HEAD LIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT!!! Additional helpful items: spare pair of CLEAR glasses to keep the bugs out of your eyes while riding along the river at night (a huge help!). We ride out, 28 miles, but it's pretty flat and effortless on the bike trail. Bring some cash as dinner and happy-hour specials will be enjoyed at the Bistro in P'Ville (dining on the sidewalk, bistro style; ~$20 per person w tip). And then we cruise the 28 miles back to Philly as the sun goes down. Oh, and did I mention...? Have a LIGHT!!! And CLEAR glasses! RSVP, please.
