If we have time, we'll hike around the pond to enjoy the views before heading down via a parallel route along Dunfield Creek, which contains wild native brook trout. Learn more here: http://www.njhiking.com/best_hikes_in_nj_sunfish_pond.php Meet at Flourtown Shopping Center to carpool for the drive of about hour and half to the trail head. • March 310:00AM

Over 30% chance of rain, possible hurricane, snow storm, earthquake or wet roads cancels the ride. People that pre-register are my heroes and will receive preferential treatment. Whatever that means.

Sat March 30, 2013 - Hills from Philly

Level A, 12 mph, 61 miles. Italian Fountain beside the blue sign next to the driveway leading to the Art Museum parking garage. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. PARKING BEHIND THE MUSEUM IS TIMED. I will be parking elsewhere and riding to the start location. Check your options to avoid a ticket. PLEASE NOTE: The listed pace is quite slow for an average ride, but as the title says: HILLS FROM PHILLY. This is a VERY hilly ride. It is NOT a ride for beginners. I recommend that you have a good cardio base from the winter season (running or riding), and some miles on the bike in the past few weeks. For an early season ride, this pace will be challenging. In mid season, like July, I have done this ride at 14 + mph, which is VERY fast for this terrain. We will see a lot of the main line, with 17 hills finishing up with the Manayunk Wall. (Actually not the steepest climb on the ride). If I have not scared you off, come on out for some good clean fun. Rest stops as needed at 16, 34, 48 miles (more important in July). No sweep rider, but VERY accurate Q sheet. Cue sheets will be available.
