    Level C+, B-, B/B+, A, 12-20 mph, 20-35+ miles. Meet at Flourtown Shopping Center. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. We offer 4-5 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads in eastern Montgomery County and northwestern Philadelphia. Distance varies depending on the pace of the ride and available daylight (please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too). Will regroup as needed.     Wed April 1, 2015 - Day/Night Phoenixville Dog Ride

    Level C+/B-, 13-14 mph, 30-40 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:30 pm. HEADLIGHT AND TAILLIGHT REQUIRED. Unitl April 29, the Dog Ride will be a day/night ride. We will start in the daylight at 6:30 and ride until 2 hours after sunset. Dress in your brightest reflective clothes, charge up your light batteries, and join us each Wednesday night for a great workout on low-traffic roads. This ride will easily beat anything you can do on an indoor trainer. Don't lose that great conditioning just because it's darker now - seize the night and join the fun. Ride canceled if snow or ice is on the roads, or if precipitation is forecast between 6:30 and 8:00 pm. Low temperatures do NOT cancel the ride - add more layers.     Level C+ , 13.5+/- mph, 40 miles. Meet at Ft. Washington State Park, Flourtown Picnic Area. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Note, just one pace today. Bring yer bike and sense of adventure. Today we'll do a simple ride with a stop at the Delaware Valley College Farm Market (or maybe add a few miles and do bagels in Doylestown). Relatively flat terrain for the area. We'll head out catching the 202 Trail and return on mostly low key back roads. Check back if weather is iffy (rain cancels). Cue sheets will not be available. We'll ride out thru East Fairmount Pk, up across City Ave into the cemetery, up the Heritage Trail, up Bryn Mawr Ave, Mt Pleasant, Balligomingo and into Conshohocken. Quick stop at the Outbound Station. From there, we decide whether to do Hart's Lane or go back on the SRT. Steady pace, minimal stopping. Regroups at traffic stops only.     Level B-/C+, 13-14.5 mph, 20-25 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 5:45 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July. This year we will make a conscious effort to maintain a true C+ pace. No riders will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri April 3, 2015 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Fort Washington State Park to the Panera Cafe in Doylestown

    Level B-/C+, 13-14.5 mph, 53 miles. Meet at Ft. Washington State Park, Flourtown Picnic Area. The ride leaves at 9:45 am. For 4/3: Ft. Washington State Park (Mill Rd parking lot) to Doylestown. We'll use the 202 Parkway path for part of the route in each direction. Outbound via Flourtown and SpringHouse, return via Gwynedd and Ambler. Quick rest stop for snack & bathroom at mile 14. Indoor, sit-down hot lunch stop at Panera Café in Doylestown at mile 29. After the lunch stop, we'll circle through the pretty campus of Delaware Valley College, on our way back to Lower State Rd. Rolling terrain, no severe climbs. Total elevation gain 2537 ft. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 13mph, as advertised. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on virtually every Friday, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Narberth through Bryn Mawr and out to Waynesborough Country Club. Then south to Ridley Creek State Park. Back through Villanova (and Gladwyne if the group wants more hills). No one gets dropped.     Sat April 4, 2015 - April's D Ride Progression - Outbound Station, Conshohocken

    Level D, 10 mph, 25 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Come cycle each Saturday in April, a little bit farther and a little bit faster and become a little bit stronger and get to be a little bit more confident cyclist. This Saturday's ride is to the Outbound Station Cafe on the Schuylkill River Trail in Conshohocken, 25 miles total, next Saturday's D ride is to Bridgeport, across the Schuylkill River from Norristown, 35 miles and the next Saturday's D ride is to Betzwood rest area on the north side of Valley Forge National Park, 45 miles and the last Saturday of April's D ride is to Phoenixville, 55 miles. Challenge yourself to do them all! Ride cancelles if raining one hour before start time. So bundle up, and spin those legs to fire up the body heater! Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level C+/B-, 13-15 mph, 51 miles. Jenkintown Whole Foods Market, the Fairway, ~1 mile east of Old York Rd/611. Far end of parking lot.. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Celebrate the joyful return of spring on this pretty route from Jenkintown to Doylestown. Outbound via Willow Grove, Horsham, and Warrington, return via Springhouse, Ft. Washington, and Oreland. Rest stop at the half-way point in Doylestown, at the Wawa on Main St. (The Market at Del Val College is closed on Easter Sunday.) Rolling terrain with 2354 ft of climbing. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 13mph, as advertised. Early starting time (8:30am), in order to return by early afternoon for Easter holiday festivities.     Level B/C, 13.5 mph, 60 miles. CV Trail parking area in Wayne. The ride leaves at 9:31 am. Cycling to the Northbrook Orchards Market (Yes, they will be open Easter Sunday) in Wawaset, but with a different route. Some of the roads you may never have ridden. Two water stops, one food stop, and ~3000' of climbing are incorporated on the route. Please note: We will be using a totally new ride start location. The start is in the Chester Valley Trail parking lot, located near the intersection of Devon Park Drive and Warner Rd in Wayne, PA. Entrance to the lot is off Warner Rd.     Sat April 11, 2015 - International HAM’R Day#1/Lotsa Trails Ride

    Level B- and B/B+, 14-15, 16-17 mph, 49-186 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. 2 cyclists (soon to be 3: http://www.ultracycling.com/wp_news/?p=553) are attempting to smash the 75 year-old world record of riding 75,065 miles in one year (defined as 365 consecutive days). For those on Strava, a HAM’R event (Highest Annual Mileage Record) was created to collectively ride 75,065 miles on April 11 (https://app.strava.com/clubs/117991/group_events/30314). I plan to ride a double metric century, Dan a triple. Join us for a metric century, or 2, or 3, or 49 miles (returns directly to the start once hitting the Schuylkill River Trail). The route is metric century loops with lotsa trails (the Schuylkill River, Powerline, 202, Norristown Farm Park and Perkiomen Trails), great roads, and is relatively flat for the area. Note that there aren’t bathrooms at the start and only bathroom/water breaks en route, so be sure to bring gels, energy bars, PB&J’s; whatever works for you.     Level C+, 13-14.5 mph, 44 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. A friendly ride that regroups as necessary. Today's ride is to Wegman's in KOP. This will be a lite version of the usual route, shortened by 2 miles and eliminating some of the climbing (since it's only April). Total climbing will be about 2700'. The outbound route involves a steady ascent but nothing long or extreme. Overall average speed should be around 13-14mph, and we'll maintain a speed of 15mph+ on flat windless terrain. This ride is based on the "Three Bridges Loop" by author Tom Hammell. Many of the roads on this loop are familiar to us from other club rides, also. Special and scenic adventure from Doylestown through Upper Bucks County, into Hunterdon County, NJ, on [mostly] peaceful and pretty country roads. Outbound via Buckingham, Lahaska, and Ringoes, returning via Stockton, Bulls Island, and Carversville. Before crossing the river into NJ, we have an optional quick Wawa stop at mile 17. Indoor rest stop at the Carousel Deli in Ringoes at mile 26. On the return, we will be in Carversville at mile 45 - we can stop at the Carversville Store if needed for a bathroom/snack break. This ride will easily beat anything you can do on an indoor trainer. Don't lose that great conditioning just because it's darker now - seize the night and join the fun. One quick comfort stop at mile 24, and long coffee stop in Manyunk at mile 40 or so. (it's all about the coffee.) Hilly but lovely and scenic loop through Chester County, crossing French Creek on peaceful roads. Convenience store quick stop at mile 23, then at mile 33, a sit-down lunch stop at the bakery/cafe in St. Peter's, which overlooks the French Creek. On the return, there is a convenience store at mile 50, if another quick stop is needed. Elevation gain is 4928 ft. We will stop to regroup after climbs, and as needed. (For the 52-mile option: On the return trip, there is a self-guided short-cut which will shave off about 4.5 miles.) Pretty and scenic loop from the Art Museum to the Whole Foods Market in Devon, then return to South Philadelphia, in search of ice cream/water ice, etc. There will NOT be a Spring Kick-Off Party, but we can still find some good ice cream, gelati, etc.. Outbound via Bala Cynwyd and Villanova, return via Conshohocken, River Rd, and Manayunk. Sit-down food stop at Whole Foods at mile 24. Total elevation gain is 2925 feet. Most of the climbing is in the first half of the ride, and most of the hills are rolling. The final segment is flat, along MLK Drive, then the Schuylkill Banks trail to South Philly.     Level C+ and B, 13-14, 14-16/- and 16 +/- mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 2 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level C+/B-, 13=15 mph, varies miles. North Penn High School - meet behind the school near the bus depot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. The weekly 13-15 mph ride every Thursday evening at 6pm. The early season will see a flatter more moderate pace that will increase in challange as the season progresses. No one dropped, everyone happy. Distance varies with the sunlight. Meet behind the school near the bus depot. The ride always leaves right on time. Cue sheets will not be available.
