    Sat June 1, 2019 - Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    Levels A: 18mph, 40-55 miles. Meet at Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave. The ride leaves at 8:05 am. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 8:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat June 1, 2019 - Annual Trek to Mount Gretna

    Level B-: 14mph, 78/48 miles. Meet at Shady Maple Farm Market on PA-23 in Goodville, Lancaster Co. (PA Turnpike West to Morgantown/Exit 298. Take PA-10 South for 1 mile to PA-23 West. Right at PA-23. Straight on 23 West for 8 miles, then turn left into Shady Maple parking lot. The ride leaves at 8:15 am. Beautiful ride through Lancaster and Lebanon Counties for an al fresco lunch at the historic Jigger Shop in the town of Mount Gretna, based on Dave Ziccardi's classic route. Moderately to dramatically rolling terrain with a few flat and sustained climbing sections on the way out. After the short climb out of Mount Gretna, the way back will be noticeably easier and will include a brief water stop. Stock up on fresh produce, Amish goodies, and baked goods after the ride. Anyone wanting to ride a slower pace and/or do fewer miles can opt for a self-guided (after mile 21.3), less hilly 48 mile route which skips Mt. Gretna. We will start PROMPTLY AT 8:30 (no exceptions), so please plan to arrive by 8:15. If you get ahead or fall behind you will need to be able to follow the cue sheet. If it's your first time doing this ride, please contact leader by evening of Friday, May 31 with questions re. driving directions or parking. Bad weather, including extreme heat, will cancel. A go/no-go message will be added to this listing by 6:30 a.m. if the weather is questionable. HEAT ADVISORY: Although this route is LOVELY, we will have limited amounts of shade.     Sat June 1, 2019 - Cycle Touring Bikepacking - Parvin State Park/Atsion Lake

    Level D: 10mph, 45/45 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. The second of three Cycle Touring Bikepacking trips from Philadelphia to Parvin State Park near Vineland, NJ then to Atsion Lake, NJ. Self contained bicycle adventure, camp dinners, sleeping under the stars so tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad, two changes of clothing, camp towel, toilets, rain gear, and dress according to the weather. Mess kit for dinner and breakfast, I will have the cooking equipment. A bike with rack and panniers. MUST Resgister. Cue sheets will not be available.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.     Sun June 2, 2019 - Early Morning PRE-PICNIC Ramble - Blue Bell Park to Warrington, 46mi , THEN, RETURN to BLUE BELL PARK for BCP's Annual PICNIC - CO-LEADER WELCOME

    Level B-: 14mph, 46 miles. Meet at Blue Bell Hill Park, 842 West Walnut Lane. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Pretty loop from Blue Bell Park in Mount Airy, Phila., to Warrington, Bucks County. Total climbing is 2300 feet. Outbound via Chestnut Hill, Flourtown, and Maple Glen. Return via Hartsville, Horsham, and North Hills. Quick, stand-up Wawa rest stop at the half-way point in Warrington. Please assemble by 7:50am, so that we can leave promptly at 8:00. Return to the BCP Summer Picnic at Blue Bell Hill Park. Plan is to return by 12:00 - 12:20pm. MEETING POINT: Blue Bell Park on West Walnut Lane is near the traffic circle where Walnut Lane meets Park Line Drive.     Sun June 2, 2019 - Tandem Ride to the Picnic

    Levels Tandem: 11mph, 30 miles. Meet at Ft. Washington State Park, Flourtown Picnic Area. The tandem ride leaves at 10:30 am. Will travel through Flourtown, Oreland, Glenside, Chestnut Hill, and Mt. Airy, attempting to find the least hilly route available. But we can't avoid all the hills so be prepared tp do some pedaling. Most of the hills are on the way out. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route maps are: to the picnic and back to the start.     Sun June 2, 2019 - Annual BCP Members' Picnic, 12 Noon to 4:00pm

    Meet at Blue Bell Park, 842 West Walnut Lane, Philadelphia 19144. The event starts at 12:00 pm. All members are warmly invited to join us at Blue Bell Park for our annual picnic, with food & beverages, music, camaraderie, games, and more. Please check the Ride Calendar for group rides with leaders, heading to and from the picnic. VENUE: Blue Bell Park at 842 West Walnut Lane is located near the traffic circle where West Walnut Lane meets Park Line Drive. There is ample parking, as soon as you turn into the driveway. BCP has reserved a pavillion. YOUR RSVP IS APPRECIATED: In order to plan the appropriate amount of food & beverages, preregistering on the blue link below ("Optionally Preregister") will help us to know approximately how many members will be joining us.     Sun June 2, 2019 - Sunny Sunday D Ride to the Summer Annual Picnic

    Level D: 9-12mph, About 20 miles miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) pace ride for any age through Fairmount Park and beyond depending on the assembled group. Please bring water, extra tube, helmet(required by the club), and as many smiles as possible. There might be a hill or two for resistance training to help improve biking endurance. Breathing at the top of the hill will be allowed. Sunscreen recommended. This ride will go to the annual summer picnic at Blue Bell Park in Philly. The trip there will have a nice reward of good food and a mostly down hill return

Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity, relaxed, recovery ride. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co. Mileage will depend on the length of evening daylight. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. Occasionally, this ride may be cancelled, if there is a special Tailgate event at the COS ride in Wayne on the same date. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Mon June 3, 2019 - Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable. Cue sheets will be available.

Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace.     Level C+: 13.5-14.5mph, 25-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Daylight rides on beautiful low-traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. Lights not required, but not a bad idea to be prepared. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace. Cue sheets will not be available.     Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 6, 2019 - Thursday Night Hill Ride

    Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after-ride drinks at local beer gardens (bring ID & money). Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu June 6, 2019 - Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. NOTE: START TIME IN SEPT. IS 5:45. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri June 7, 2019 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Returning via the Chester Valley and Schuylkill River trail after lunch at Wegmans. All day ride. Cue sheets will not be available. It is optional, but you may preregister until Friday, June 28, 2019 at 9:00 pm.

    Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) pace ride for any age through Fairmount Park and beyond depending on the assembled group. Please bring water, extra tube, $ for mid-ride snack, helmet(required by the club), and as many smiles as possible. There might be a hill or two for resistance training to help improve biking endurance. Breathing at the top of the hill will be allowed. Sunscreen recommended
