Level B/B-: 15-15.5mph, 43 miles. Meet at Strafford Train Station Westbound side. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Ride level is B/B-: 15-16mph, 43mi with 3400ft. Meet at 8:45AM for 9AM start. We will regroup a short distance after each climb to train pushing over the top and active recovery. If you don't have the legs for whatever reason, some climbs can be bypassed allowing you to regroup with us. This is my variation of the Dirty Dozen ride which is up and down the hills around the western burbs of Philly so Conshy, Manayunk, Gladwyne. Learn how to climb and get stronger as we ride them at mortal speeds. There are 6 big hills such as Harts Ln, Hagys Mill, Mary Waters, Rose Glen, etc...totaling around 3400ft. There is 1 quick water/food break at 30mi but ideally bring 2 pieces of food like energy bars for 2 quick food breaks each hour. Ideally, we should finish in 3hrs so plan accordingly. Route and cue sheet downloadable below Cue sheets will not be available. The on-line route map is Riders on the bike go up and down.

The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available. Sat June 15, 2019 - EARLY BIRD RIDE TO COFFEE IN DEVON (ad-hoc ride)

Level B/B-: 14.5-15mph, 50+/- miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Assemble at 8:00. We willl leave at 8:05 SHARP! Ride through Belmont, Wynnewood, Havertown, Haverford, Merion, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Radnor, Devon, Wayne, Gulph Mills, Conshohocken, Manayunk, Bala Cynwyd, etc. Many hills, including 12 (or so) relatively long ones. One 35-minute coffee stop in Devon (Pour Richards) at mile 26 or so. (It's all about the coffee.) Will regroup at top of long hills as needed, but riders are expected to achieve advertised pace (which is what our computers read as "average" at the finish). PLEASE PREREGISTER: It saves time; and increases substantially my ability to read the important info on the sign-in sheet; and it does not matter if you do not show up since we will not wait beyond the scheduled start time. I 'borrowed' this listing and route from Jeff. I hope he doesn't mind. Note: I'm super sore from a hike this week so won't be rolling at my usual speed. This will really be a 15mph ride and you probably will be waiting for me at the tops of hills. If you would like to be a co-leader, please be in touch as there's about a 5% chance I'll find myself too sore to ride in the morning, but I'm hoping and expecting that won't be the case. Cue sheets will not be available. The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21970420.
