This Five Borough Bridges Ride consists of cycling across ten bridges, count them: Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Wards Island Lift Bridge, Robert F Kennedy Bridge (Tri Borough), Roosevelt Island Tramway, Ed Kosh Bridge (Queensborough), Williamsburg Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge! We take the 8:44 am train from 30th Street Amtrak Station to Trenton, so arrive at the station by 8:25 am in front of the new location of the Dunkn Donuts. Then connecting the 9:48 am NJTRANSIT train to New York City. We get off in Rahway, NJ Station. There for a coffee break at a cafe across the street from the station. 11 am, we will start cycling to Elizabeth, NJ and cross over the Goethals Bridge into Staten Island, the Bayonne Bridge back into NJ. We cycle up the west side of the Hudson River to Fort Lee for lunch before crossing the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan. A congested ride through upper Harlem, crossing the Ward's Island Lift bicycle and pedestrian Bridge onto Ward's Island. The RFK TriBorough Bridge gets us into Queens, then onto Roosevelt Island where we will have a second lunch. The Tramway off the island, crossing the East River back into Manhattan. But no sooner on the Isle of Manhattan, we will cross the Ed Koch Queens Borough Bridge to Queens and somewhere stopping for coffee before crossing the Williamsburg Bridge. Again in Manhattan, the Manhattan Bridge will be crossed into Brooklyn. So what bridge is left other than the Brooklyn Bridge to close out this amazing Five Borough Bridges Ride. I chose this date because of the long day light available to us. We go up the Hudson River Greenway to 34th St and over to Pennsylvania Station to board the train ride back. This is a mighty All day ride event. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start it ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.
