    Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 45.6 miles. Meet at Weaver's Way Co-op in Ambler, 217 E. Butler Pike. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. FABULOUS FORECAST for Friday, March 1: Afternoon high temp predicted to be ~50-51*, with sunny skies! This is a pretty route from Ambler to the Cafe @ the Mill in Sellersville (cafeatbucksmill.com). Outbound via West Point, Hatfield, and Souderton. Return via Telford, Mainland, and Gwynedd. Coffee/lunch stop at the Cafe is at the midway point at Mile 22. On the outbound, there is a restroom stop if needed at Mile 10. On the we return, if anorther restroom or water stop is needed, we can stop at Fischer's Park ~Mile 34. Total elevation gain 2241 ft, averaging 49 ft/mile. Most of the climbing in the middle of the route, but no extreme climbs.     Fri March 1, 2024 - Dydd Gwyl Dewi Ride to the High point Cafe at Allen Lane Station

    Level D: 11.5mph, 18 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Join us for a leisurely Friday ride to the Highpoint Cafe at Allen Lane Station in Mt. Airy on Dydd Gwyl Dewi (St. David's Day for those of you who don't speak Welsh). Jim McElwain's favorite meteorologist, Misty St. Cloud, says it will be clear for the ride. Diana Dooley would prefer that we take the Yellow Brick Road, but since it is closed for witch removal, we'll go out via Midvale and back via the Wissahickon Trail. First one to spot a daffodil gets a free can of potato leek soup. New riders are welcome. Remember, red is the color for St. David's Day.     Level C: 12mph, 45 -50 miles. Meet at Ardmore Farmers Market . The ride leaves at 9:45 am. Time to get out get those spring miles in. Lets start with a flat ride to the Wegmans in KOP Route will be out from Ardmore to the SRT in Conshocken to the CVT in Norristown to the Wegmans in KOP .Return route will be CVT - SRT - Cynwyd Trail back to Ardmore. If KYW is reporting rain and the temperature is not above 40 degrees 1 hour prior to departure then the ride is cancelled. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Sat March 2, 2024 - Soggy Saturday on the SRT 15.5mph 50 miles (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B: 15.5mph, 50 miles. Meet at SEPTA Spring Mill Station Parking Lot Off of E. Hector St. in Conshohocken. The ride leaves at 1:00 pm. Rain be damned! Let's ride a half-century on the first weekend of March. We start in Conshohocken at Spring Mill Station and head west on the SRT to Longford Park (aka Reynolds Dog Park) where we turn around, head back to Spring Mill Station, rinse and repeat. It's a fast, flat ride to spin out the winter cobwebs. No restrooms at the start; restrooms and water at Longford Park. Elevation? It's the SRT. Cue sheets? It's the SRT. Easy peasy.     Level D: 8mph, 25 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Let's jam! Today's Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride will have a special treat. After cycling to the House Cup Cafe on Darby Rd in Havertown we will take in the Klezmer Jam at the Kaiserman JCC, 45 Haverford Rd, Wynnewood, PA. This is close by and on our route back to the start location of the ride. We will stay about hour listening to Klezmer music. Total ride distance will be close to 25 miles.     Sun March 3, 2024 - Sunday PM Almost-Spring Quick Spin: Warrington to Doylestown for Coffee

    Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 25 miles. Meet at Lions Pride Park, 3129 Bradley Rd near Folly Rd, Warrington. The ride leaves at 1:30 pm. This Sunday (3/2), the weather will be bike-friendly, and the hiking trails will likely be muddy, due to recent heavy rains. This 25-mile quick afternoon loop will follow up on a morning ride hosted by Katie, leaving from & returning to the same park by 1:15. Pretty meander from Warrington to Doylestown for a brief coffe/snack/restroom break. We'll have a choice of places to stop in the rest break area - Weis Market food court, Panera, or, Starbucks. Outbound via Central (Kids' Castle) Park, and return via Del Val University. Park of this route will be on paved trails. Total elevation is 1204 ft (49 ft/mile average).     Level C+: 13.5mph, 42 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:45 am. Assemble at 8:45. Depart at 8:50 SHARP! Start with typical ride toward Devon, riding through West Fairmount Park, Wynnwood, Kerakung, Havertown, Haverford, and Bryn Mawr, but then continuing on Ithan Avenue through Villanova, and getting to Bala Starbucks via Williamson Road and climb up McClenaghan Mill Road. At mile 26 or so, 35 minute coffee stop at Starbucks (it's all about the coffee), then down and up the Bala Cynwyd Heritage Trail and finishing with optional East Fairmount Park Loops. Approx. 2,200 feet of climbing. Will regroup if necesary, but riders are expected to maintain the group pace. Cue sheets will not be available.

Please wear helmet(required by the club.). Please bring water, proper dress for the weather, extra tube and tools to fix a flat, and $ for mid-ride snack. There might be a hill or two, but we will catch our collective breaths at the top of the hills. At our break stop, there might be a discussion on a bike safety issue.

    Sun March 10, 2024 - Sunday PM "Spring Forward" Quick Afternoon Spin - UDHS to Wawa in Gwynedd

    Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 24.5 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 1:50 pm. Spring has sprung! This afternoon loop is a follow-up or add-on to the morning ride led by Katie/Wes, leaving from and returning to UDHS. This 24.5 short ride is a pretty meander through eastern Montgomery County, from Fort Washington to Gwynedd. Outbound via Talamore and a little stretch on the Horsham Power Line Trail, and return via Gwynedd Mercy University and Ambler. Quick coffee/snack/restroom stop at Wawa is at Mile 14. Total climbing 1243 ft (average 50 ft/mi), with most of the elevation before the Wawa stop. GOOD NEWS: today is the first day of Daylight Savings - Sunset is at 7:02pm! Cue sheets will be available. They are known for their crepes. You might try Crepe Suzette, even if Suzette doesn't ride with us. The Hippy Dippy weather man, Al Sleet, says it looks like Mother nature will cooperate, but mother nature can fool us, even if it's not nice to fool mother nature. New riders are welcome, helmets are required on all BCP rides.

    Level C+: 13.5mph, 48 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:55 am. Assemble at 8:55. Depart at 9:00 SHARP! Ride through West Fairmount Park, Bala Cynwyd. Merion, Havertown, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Devon, Wayne, Conshohocken, and Manayunk. At mile 26 or so, 35-minute coffee stop at Pour Richards (it's all about the coffee). Many hills (approx. 2,400 feet of climbing), including 10 or so relatively long ones, but no killers. Will regroup if necessary, but riders are expected to maintain the group pace. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, this route includes the Irish Memorial near Penns Landing, St. Patrick's Church, and the (former) Irish Pub. We'll also cycle through some very cute neighborhoods, e.g., Queen Village, Fairmount, etc. We will also cycle on part of the Schuylkill Banks paved trail, from Spruce St up to the Art Museum.     Tue March 26, 2024 - Tuesday Ride to Lower Merion

    Level C- through D: 10.5mph, 20-30 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. This is a generic description of the ride which will go to one of three destinations every Tuesday:GET Cafe in Narberth; Farmers’ Market in Ardmore or Spread Bagelry in Wynnewood. Some climbing of 800 to 1000 feet. First part of ride will generally mean a climb into Fairmount Park, across the Strawberry Mansion Bridge up to Chamounix. And then proceed up Bryn Mawr Avenue. and on to our final destination of Narberth, Ardmore or Wynnewood. On an ad hoc basis we may include new destinations and advance notice will be provided along with details. Always a fun group of friendly people so come on out! Cue sheets will not be available.

    Levels A-/B+: 16-17mph, B/B-: 14-15mph, C+: 13-14mph, C: 12-13mph, 40 miles. Meet at Central Park, Doylestown. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Today we'll ride to Wrightstown(mile 28) for either a snack or early lunch at Organnons Natural Market. Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads. Lunch stops may be sit down, takeout, or in a park. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to ride the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Please preregister so we can know how many to expect. Bathrooms available at all start locations. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels, but likely to reschedule for Wed.).     Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 46 miles. Meet at Horsham Township Library. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. For 3/29: Pretty and scenic route by Charlie B. from Horsham Library on Babylon Rd to Plumsteadville, Bucks County. Food stop at the half-way point at either Wawa, or the Salt Box. Outbound via Jamison and Buckingham. On the return, we'll cycle on part of the waterside path at Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park. Optional portapotty or rest room stops as needed along the route. CO-LEADERS WELCOME to lead ride groups at alternative speeds. Total elevation gain is 2310 ft, with no extreme climbs. Averages less than 50 ft/mile. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. If so, we will cycle on to Tricycles since they have posted being open Thursday through Sunday now. If we need to go back at the construction site, we will go to Artesano for coffee in Manayunk.     Sat March 30, 2024 - Early Bird Ride to Coffee in Flourtown or Ambler (ad-hoc ride)

    Level C+: 13.5mph, 49 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Assemble at 8:30. Depart at 8:35 SHARP! Somewhat convoluted ride through East Fairmount Park, East Falls, Wyncote, and Flourtown to Starbucks in Flourtown (at mile 17 or so) or Wake in Ambler (at mile 21 or so) for 35-minute coffee stop (it’s all about the coffee), then return via Lower Gwynedd and Manayunk Bridge. Approx. 2,400 feet of climbing. Will regroup as necessary, but riders are expected to achieve posted speed (i.e., slower going up and faster going down, but an avg. of 13.5 mph over the course of the ride). :) Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat March 30, 2024 - G.R.I.T. Ride - Washington Crossing to Princeton

    Level B: 14mph, 43 miles. Meet at Washington Crossing parking lot on New Jersey side. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Grind the gravel all the way to Princeton on the Delaware & Raritan Canal Towpaths. Coffee stop at D'Angelo Italian Market before returning back on Raritan Canal Towpath through Mercer Meadows on the LHT. Route is 60% unpaved. Bring your 29er, CX, Gravel or equip your road bike with wider tires as we mashup rides across various asphalt, gravel and sometimes dirt terrains. Expect a good challenge as we grind gravel trails and hit a few climbs with great company for no other purpose than to have fun and put in a few unpaved miles. Rescheduled from last weekend a ride to Phoenixville for lunch. to celebrate the beginning of spring Ride will depart from the Ardmore Farmers Market heading out to the SRT following my new flatter route. Return route will also be flat except for that portion of the ride at the end of the SRT bringing us back to the Cynwd trail. The ride is canceled if KWY is reporting rain or the temperature is below 45 degrees 1 hour prior the beginning of the ride. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Sat March 30, 2024 - Doylestown Central Park to Ringoes & Sergeantsville - 2 Leaders, 2 Paces

    Levels B-/C+: 13-14mph, 49.1 miles. Meet at Central Park in Doylestown - Wells Rd between Turk and Lower State/Court St.. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty and scenic meander from Bucks County to peaceful Hunterdon County for coffee & lunch. This route has been slightly revised by Dmitri Levin, in order to avoid a couple of busy roads, and to replace them with quiet ones. Cycle through New Hope and Lambertville, on our way to Ringoes. [Hooray - the pedestrian path on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge remains open for cyclists and walkers!] Quick rest break if needed in Lambertville ~Mile 15, or at Ringoes Country Deli at Mile 22. Lunch at Covered Bridge Cafe & Market in Sergeantsville at Mile 29. Return from Sergeantsville toward the river via the winding and picturesque Lower Creek Rd. Recross the river to PA at Bulls Island. Quick rest break available if needed at Bulls Island, or the Lumberville Store on the PA side, at Mile 36. Pass peaceful creeks and green landscapes. START/FINISH at Doylestown Central Park: Main parking lot between the bathrooms and the Kids' Castle.     Level C: 12mph, 56 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Let's ride to Pennypack park and then to the Wissahickon and back to the art museum. This ride has both paved and unpaved sections ( aka Forbidden Drive) so bring approriate tires! We will head to Penn treaty park via Spring Garden and then weave our way north to Pennypack park. We will ride through the park, through Bryn Athyn where we will find a spot for lunch-- we can either stay on the trail and eat at All Aboard Cafe ( brazilian inspired lunch truck on the trail) or go to Be Well Cafe and Bakery ( https://bewellbakery.com/) We will head back to the city via Willow Grove and White Marsh, dropping into the Wissahickon and Forbidden Drive back to the Art Museum via one of the river drives. Casual paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond for all age riders who are new to group riding, returning after a biking layoff, or think they can have fun on a bicycle. Please wear helmet(required by the club.) Please bring extra tube and tools to fix a flat, water, proper dress for the weather, sunscreen, and $ for mid-ride snack stop.
