Philadelphia Weekend Weather

BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Century'n'On Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on May 20, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 30, 2018. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 6:45 am. Ride Level: A-/B+: 15-16mph, Distance: 100 - 150 miles. Endurance rides for advanced cyclist. Will be scheduled twice monthly throughout the summer. Pace listed should be a rate that you can sustain without to much effort. Stop breaks usually every 30 miles but bring plenty of food and water and be prepared to ride up to 50 miles without stopping. Make sure bike is in good working order.   • Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride Ride and Instructional Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum at 12:00 pm. Ride Level: D: 9-12mph. Casual introductory level ride, suited for improving group riding skills and fitness. Safety instruction provided. If noted as instructional in the listing for a specific date, the ride will also cover riding basics such as shifting, clipless pedals etc. Distance and speed will be dictated by the abilities of the group. D rides are generally 10-20 miles at a pace of 8-12 mi/hr, and the ride will regroup as necessary. Adverse weather generally cancels the ride. Helmet, bicycle in operating condition and water is required. Snacks are strongly advised.   • Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 1, 1987 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum at 12:15 pm. Ride Levels: B- through C: 14mph, C+/C: 13mph, C: 12mph. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Some climbing is required.

  • Monday's 

     

  • Delightful, Delicious D (& D+/C-) Ride, Monday Evening Edition

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Mondays starting on May 7, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 17, 2018. The ride will depart from Upper Dublin High School at 5:45 pm. Ride Level: C- through D: 10-11.5mph, Distance: 15-25 miles. Scheduled for most Monday evenings throughout the summer. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Relaxed pace. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co. Meet in the small parking lot next to the ball field, across the street from the high school. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. Occasionally, this Monday night ride from UDHS may be cancelled, if there is a special Tailgate event at the COS ride in Wayne on the same date. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Mondays starting on April 2, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 24, 2018. The ride will depart from Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: A through D: 8-20mph, Distance: 13-45 miles. Multi-level ride group with 7 different paced groups ( D, C, C+, B-, B, B+, and A). The 7 groups range from a slow D level "hybrid / road" group that rides no more than 15 miles at 8-11 mph pace up to our fastest pace "A" ride group that rides at 18-20 mph and anywhere between 20 and 50 miles depending on sunset times. We ride every Monday April thru September except when a Monday falls on a holiday. Rain cancels the rides. See a description of each individual ride group on the daily calendar. PLEASE NOTE that this ride IS CANCELLED AND DOES NOT OCCUR on holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day (Monday Sept. 3 2018)!

  • Ride Yer Bike Tuesday

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on June 5, 2018 and is scheduled to end on August 28, 2018. The ride will depart from Upper Dublin High School at 9:15 am. Ride Levels: A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, Distance: 35-50 miles. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Often will have a sit-down lunch stop. Check back a few days prior to the ride for an updated listing with ride details: destination, distance, terrain & whether all paces are offered. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). THE LAST RIDE OF THE MONTH STARTS FROM CENTRAL PARK, DOYLESTOWN. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Bulldog ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on April 10, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 4, 2018. The ride will depart from Bulldog Statue, 25th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. at 6:00 pm. Ride Levels: B: 15mph, Distance: 30-34 miles. Ride thru the park to Henry Ave across McCallum bridge to Germantown Ave and out toward Ambler. How far out we go depends on daytime hours . Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Ride Yer Bike Tuesday

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays and is scheduled to end on September 28, 2021. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 9:30 pm. Ride Levels: A-/B+: 16-17mph, B-: 13.5-14.5mph, C+: 12-13mph, Distance: 35-50 miles. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Sometimes we'll ride familiar routes, sometimes new ones. Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads. Lunch stops may be sit down, takeout, or in a park (bring a sandwich/snack). Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace.   • Flourtown Multi-Level Rides, Every Wednesday April Thru September

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on May 9, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 26, 2018. The ride will depart from Flourtown Shopping Center at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: A- through C+: 13-18mph, Distance: 15-40 miles. Multi-level ride group (C+, B-, B, A- ) that meets every Wednesday April thru September. Various ride leaders.   • Phoenixville Dog Ride, B-/C+, 13.5-14.5

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on May 2, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 26, 2018. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: C+: 13.5mph, Distance: 20-35 miles. The daylight Phoenixville dog rides begin in May and continue through September. Rolling to hilly rides on low-traffic roads. Regroup as necessary. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the posted speed on rolling to hilly terrain. On the last Wednesday of each month, we will have a day/night ride. We start riding in the daylight and continue after sunset with headlights and taillights. A strong headlight and taillight are required. On the last Wednesday in June, we will ride a metric century.

  • Weekly Flourtown A- Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on May 2, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 19, 2018. The ride will depart from Flourtown Shopping Center at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: A-: 18-20mph, Distance: 25-45 miles. Weekly ride where the route will change every week (i.e., hilly, flat or rolling). Distance will increase as we get more day light (and decreases accordingly). Please bring LIGHTS for use at dusk. Note that this is a relatively fast ride so be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels).   • "C"VILIZED THURSDAY NIGHT HILL RIDE

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Thursdays starting on April 19, 2018 and is scheduled to end on September 13, 2018. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 5:46 pm. Ride Levels: C: 12mph, Distance: 25 miles. Levels C:, 25 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. August 30, September 6 and 13 the ride leaves at 5:46 PM. A true C level version of the Thursday night hill ride. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Thursday Night Hill Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Thursdays starting on May 9, 2018 and is scheduled to end on August 30, 2018. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 6:00 pm. Ride Levels: B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, Distance: 25 -35 miles. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. This year we will have 2 different paced groups. Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Friday's 

     

  • Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Fridays starting on December 7, 2012 and is scheduled to end on February 5, 2027. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 9:30 am. Ride Level: B-: 14mph, Distance: 45-50, +/- miles. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

  • Toss of the Dice 2.0

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2029. The ride will depart from Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum at 9:15 am. Ride Level: B: 15mph, Distance: 35-80 miles. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Pre-registration preferred. Cue sheets will not be available.
