BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Valley Forge Winter Ride: Sunday Edition

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 6, 2019 and is scheduled to end on March 31, 2019. The ride will depart from Valley Forge National Park, Betzwood Area (by rest rooms) at 9:00 am. Ride Level: B: 14.5mph, Distance: 35 miles. Every Sunday through March, we will ride 17.5 miles to Hennings Market in Harleysville, do an indoor coffee break, then ride 17.5 miles back to Valley Forge. Cue sheets will be available.   • Hike the Wissahickon

    This weekly hike is scheduled on Sundays starting on November 11, 2018 and is scheduled to end on March 17, 2019. The hike will depart from various locations accessing the park at 9:30 am. Hike Level: Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, Distance: 6-8 miles. These Intermediate hikes are joint ventures between BCP and SCU. The hikes are mainly on trails, but the hike leader can direct you toward flat options if you need an easier or quicker route. Hiking boots or shoes are recommended. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but they must remain leashed- even on trails. The hikes generally last two and a half to three hours. The first and last hike are celebrated afterward with a party. Check the daily ride listing for details about each Sunday's hike. The hikes leave promptly at 9:30AM. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • G.R.I.T. Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on February 3, 2019 and is scheduled to end on March 31, 2019. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 9:45 am. Ride Level: B-: 14mph, Distance: 30-50 miles. Bring your 29er, CX, Gravel or equip your road bike with wider tires as we mashup rides across various asphalt, gravel and sometimes dirt terrains. Expect a good challenge as we grind gravel trails and hit a few climbs with great company for no other purpose than to have fun and put in a few unpaved miles. Join the "Gritters" message list.

  • Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday)

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on November 11, 2018 and is scheduled to end on March 17, 2019. The ride will depart from Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves at 1:20 pm. Ride Level: B-: 14mph, Distance: 35-40 miles. Scenic loop, usually thru Montgomery Co. or Lower Bucks, with brief rest stop. Unless otherwise stated, meet most Sundays at Bruno's (finishing point for many of the Sunday AM Wissahickon hikes). Occasionally meet at another location in Chestnut Hill. Plan to return by 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS. Specific details posted for week. Every Sunday throughout winter (during hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT 2nd Sun in Feb. If weather is not bike-friendly, this ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving throughout winter - maintain base fitness level for the return of spring cycling in March.   • Tuesday's 

     

  • Bulldog

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on March 19, 2019 and is scheduled to end on September 17, 2019. The ride will depart from Bulldog Statue, 25th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. at 5:45 pm. Ride Levels: B+: 16-17mph, Distance: 25-35 miles. 5:45 start for rest of the season. Headlights and taillights required. Pace is set by ride leader, do not ride ahead of the group on flats or heavy traffic. Rain cancels.   • Wednesday's 

     

  • Nighttime Phoenixville Dog Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on November 7, 2018 and is scheduled to end on March 6, 2019. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:30 pm. Ride Level: C+: 13.5-14.5mph, Distance: 25-35 miles. The nighttime Phoenixville Dog rides will continue until daylight savings time begins. A strong headlight and taillight are required. The rides are on low traffic roads and feature rolling to hilly terrain. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace over rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation cancels. Ice on the road cancels. Temperatures below 15 degrees at the scheduled start time cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Day/Night Phoenixville Dog Park Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on March 13, 2019 and is scheduled to end on April 24, 2019. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:30 pm. Ride Level: C+: 13-13.5mph, Distance: 25-35 miles. Daylight at the start means more miles ! Lights required. Come join us as we explore local low-traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride at the listed pace. The day/night rides will continue until the end of April. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • Valley Forge Winter Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on January 5, 2019 and is scheduled to end on March 30, 2019. The ride will depart from Valley Forge National Park, Betzwood Area (by rest rooms) at 9:00 am. Ride Level: B: 14.5mph, Distance: 35 miles. Every Saturday through March, we will ride 17.5 miles to Kimberton Whole Food store in Kimberton, have an indoor coffee break, then ride 17.5 miles back to Valley Forge. Cue sheets will be available.
