Ride Calendar

We'll meet in the SEPTA lot in Conshohocken beneath the bridge (intersection of E. Elm and Harry St.) and ride down to see the Mummers Parade. All classes of riders are welcome. Return to Conshohocken by 4 p.m. Bring a lock for your bike and walking shoes. We'll get food and hot coffee at the WAWA near the Art Museum before heading to the parade. Rain or snow cancels the ride.

We will loop around through that borough and out past Kimberton then spin back to Iron Hill for brunch. No one left behind as we stop to regroup as necessary. Cue sheets provided. A multi-club ride. Bring snacks, liquids, lock and money. NO CALLS = NO RIDE. In the event of weather concerns, or for directions, call.

Sunny and 38 in Elverson tomorrow so I am going on a hike in French Creek State Park. Anyone is welcome to join me. Stepping off from the Hopewell Lake Boat Launch parking lot at 10:30. Heading to the east side of the park via Hopewell Lake and Hopewell Furnace. Hope to do at least 6 or so miles, but conditions will dictate. Bring snacks and water and wear appropriate clothes and sturdy footware. I will have a few super-sized copies of the park map showing all the trails. We will start from there and head up the trails for a 5-7 mile hike (approximately 3 hours.) See the weekly ride listing for directions to the Valley Green Inn. Parking is available on Valley Green Rd. (Chestnut Hill side) or Wises Mill Rd. (Roxborough side.) A few hills will be scaled to get the heart rate going. Canine hikers are warmly welcomed. We will stop at Brunos afterward for lunch.

Let's take a break from the hills in PA and head to the flat singletrack of Mercer County Park located just northeast of Trenton, NJ. We'll plan on riding for two to three hours. Call or e-mail to confirm that the ride is on, and with questions. Rain and/or poor trail conditions cancels the ride.

Join us as we hike about 4-5 miles on the trails of the beautiful Wissahickon gorge, plus a mile or two through historic Chestnut Hll. A flat option will also be available. Optional lunch afterward. WILL FINISH IN TIME FOR EAGLES FANS TO WATCH THE GAME.

Saturday, Jan 17 is forecast to be very cold (too cold for cycling?). This will be the third winter for this tour of old sacred places downtown (Northern Liberties, Olde City, Society Hill). Last year's route was 5-7 miles, but the distance can be shortend or lengthened as needed. There are countless landmarks to visit! Terrain is flat, but please wear supportive & sturdy walking shoes, since we'll be on hard pavement, cobblestones, etc. Later starting time will hopefully make temperature more bearable. Last year, with good timing, we luckily encountered knowledgeable docents in three of the sites, so we took advantage of the history lessons (& the warmth inside)! We will stop for lunch towards the end, on Arch St., about 2-3 blocks from the starting point (Nat'l Constitution Ctr). Parking available on street, & in nearby lots. Allaire State Park, located in Monmouth County, NJ, is a fun place to ride and worth the trip. We'll plan on riding for two to three hours. Call or e-mail to confirm that the ride is on, and with questions. Rain and/or poor trail conditions cancels the ride.

This ride leaves from the Italian Fountain at 11:00 and heads to Bruno’s. We'll try to keep a steady pace and effort (rolling speed on flat terrain ~ 14-15 mph). Pace will be particulary easy. It will be cold and I haven't ride 1 mile in the last 3 months. Bring a lock and money for a snack at Bruno’s. Also remember to bundle up and bring at least a plastic bag in case you get cold. Meet at Borders Books , Bethlehem Pike and Germantown Aves. at 9:30 am. Borders is located near the Chestnut Hill stops for the R8 train, and Rt 23 Bus. We will hike 6-8 miles through Chestnut Hill and mostly in the beautiful Wissahickon gorge. The hike will be on trails with flat options. Lunch at a Chestnut Hill bistro after for those interested.

Food stop at Whole Foods Market in Devon. Cue sheets provided. Terrain is flat to rolling hills with three or four moderate climbs. Call if the weather is questionable.

CANCELLED Leaving Bruno's , will go to Newtown/Bucks County via Ft. Washington, Warminster and Wrightstown. Lunch at Shopping with Bagel Junction or Genuardi's Market with food court. Ride will go as long as roads are dry barring extreme conditions such as below 20 degrees with high winds.
