Come cycle the entire length of Broad Street, the longest straight street in the country! You will experience the expansion of the 20th century city. City Hall being the center, Philly expanded northward and southward. Big mansions, will you be able to count the number of churches grand and small, funeral homes, hospitals and theaters? Can I say this ride is downhill all the way? I hope to go to the very end, the Delaware River inside the Navy Yard but will need to get permission before hand. We will return to the starting place via the subway to Olney Ave, cycling the remainder north portion.

Rescheduled from May by popular demand. I have a new way out of valley that will test your legs after a 3 mile roll out on the flats. From there it's all up and down until the 2.7 mile climb up Rick Rd. After a long descent and a quick water stop, you will tackle Musconetcong Mountain via Fox Farm Rd. with its sustained stretch of 14%. Less than a mile of climbing will never seem so long. This year there will be fabulous prizes for both the king or queen of Cong and the prince or princess. After you catch your breath you'll take on the 2.5 mile climb up Tunnel Hill Rd. and then drop nearly 900 ft. scenic feet down to the river at Milford for a nearly flat finish. Good training for the CBBC Covered Bridges Ride. Bring a picnic lunch and relax by the canal after the ride if you so desire. Cue sheets provided. Some mandatory re-grouping. Please arrive by 9:15 for a PROMPT 9:30 start. A cancellation notice will be posted to this listing by 7:45 the day-of is the weather is questionable. Email for directions by 3 p.m. Friday.

For all you want-a-be hill climbers - low gear Grannies. Come claim the glory. Let's spin up and down Lemon Hill, Chamounix Hill, Scott's Lane, "The Wall", Black Rd. and Lemon Hill once more. In all my years of cycling and the thousands of miles I have cycled, I have not sceen one hill or one mountain I could not get off my bike and walk up! About 20 miles. Keeping your pedal cadence above 80 rpm - hopefully 90 rpm. This is a can you do it ride not a how fast can you do it ride. Can you stay in the saddle while climbing - not stumping the peddles. High reps saves the knees. Q sheet will be provided since I will definitely be in the back. Go at your own pace to challenge the hills.
