BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     12 Days of Christmas: Day 12 - New Year's Day Ride to the Mummers Parade in CC Philly!

    Level C thru A, 12-18 mph, 18 or 30 miles. Conshohocken SEPTA lot E. Elm and Harry St., Conshohocken, PA.. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm.

    Meet 12 noon in the SEPTA lot in Conshohocken (E. Elm and Harry St.). We will have a "warm-up" WAWA stop at mile 14 before heading into CC Philly. We'll view the parade from outside the Kimmell Center (we can defrost inside the center if needed). If you're too tired/cold to ride back to Conshohocken we'll drop you off at the 30th St.station and you can take the train back. Rain,snow,icy roads,or starting temp. below 25 F cancels ride. Round trip bike ride returns to Conshohocken by 4:30pm


    "Show & Tell" Night for BCP (evening social event, not a ride)

    BCP will participate in the 7th edition of "Pecha Kucha Night Philadelphia". (Pecha Kucha is Japanese for chit-chat or conversation.) BCP (and other organizations also invited) will present our "Greatest Hits" to the audience, by showing and narrating 20 images (slides), 20 seconds each. Special events, such as the New Hope to New York Ride, will be among the highlights. This evening will be a fun, informative, & entertaining way of explaining to others what makes BCP such a special club, and why our members, rides, & events are so delightful.     Another long and easy ride out the Schuykil River Trail passing Valley Forge National Park along the way. A coffee break at the Outbound Station on the trail in Conshohocken. We will need to take Port Providence Rd and then Phoenixville - Collegeville Rd to cross the river and check out the progress of the trail there. Lunch in Phoenixville.     Heading out the Mainline to Darby-Paoli Rd, to Church Rd, to Sugartown Rd. Our destination is the Paoli Memorial Park in Malvern where there is a revolutionary war memorial. Wont stop there long because of the cold. Lunch in Malvern. Return route will be what I call the upper route - Swedesford Rd and Valley Forge Park. We can check out if any progress on the Chester Valley Trail which will run from King of Prussia - paralleling 202 all the way to Exton and hopefully to Downingtown - Coatesville, parts of which are open! Rain / snow one hour before start cancels the ride.

    Level All classes, 4-5, +/- miles. Parking lot across from the Hawk Watch area of Fort Washington State Park, between Joshua and Militia Hill Roads. The ride leaves at 9:30 am.

    Let's enjoy and play in the snow while we still have it! Bring your XC skis, and/or, your snow shoes. We'll meet in the parking lot of the Militia Hill Day area, across from the Hawk Watch (wooden deck with panoramic view). There are rest rooms next to this parking lot. If approaching from Stenton Ave., turn north onto Joshua Rd. Turn right at State Park entrance (there should be a sign: "Militia Hill Picnic Area"), then immediately bear left on Park Road. In approx. 1/2 to one mile, the parking lot will be on your left, and hawk watch area on your right. From Skippack Pike, turn south on Militia Hill, then take the next left onto Park Rd. Drive up hill on Park Rd, then hawk watch will be on left, parking lot on right. Plenty of trails to explore in the snow. If you'd like to co-lead, I'd love your company!

    4+ hours of fun. Old member or new, take this midwinter opportunity to celebrate the past year of riding and to kick off the 2010 season, while honoring our friends who volunteer to make our club so successful. Check out our Banquet location, the popular Manayunk Brewery, the loft of a historic wool and cotton mill. The evening will begin with a cocktail/hors d'oeuvres hour from 6-7 [cash bar], followed by dinner at 7, then awards and election of our Board of Directors. We anticipate an evening of camaraderie and great food, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections, unique surroundings, warmed by music. You get all of this for just $30/person.

    Hike hike, 5-7 miles. Walnut Lane Golf Course parking lot, Walnut Lane and Magdalena Street. The hike leaves at 9:30 am.

    Level D/D+, 8-14 mph, 15-20 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm.

    Check with the ride leader...or the calendar or the list-serve the week of the ride for details. This is an opportunity to begin to learn about and experience riding when it is colder. Be sure to wear your helmet; wear layers that wick moisture; dress warmly enough; and, bring something to eat and to drink. Check the air pressure in your tires and pump them the morning of the ride.
