This scenic loop from Chestnut Hill to Warminster and Huntingdon Valley, returning via Willow Grove, will get us warmed up. Terrain is rolling, with a couple of brisk climbs, but we will stop to regroup as needed. (Elevation gain is ~1800 ft.) Indoor rest break at a deli or coffee shop at mile 16. Please make sure that your bike is ready (tires inflated, etc.) before starting time, and bring lights, just in case we are delayed on our return. (Fortunately, daylight is gradually getting longer!) Plan is to return by ~4:30pm.

This is your stress-free, car-free, alternative mellow mileage ride! This is a ride for those who have gotten in shape for longer distances. Sweep is available to help with mechanicals; nobody will be dropped. We take the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) out to Phoenixville, where we will settle in for an unhurried lunch with a nice hot beverage. Each half of the ride is 28 miles, which may seem a lot, but these are flat, car-free miles that pass very quickly. We ride as a group to the SRT trailhead, where individuals familiar with the trail may ride ahead at their own pace, but we'll regroup in Norristown at the Transportation Center. Unhurried lunch will be at the Steel City Coffee House. We should be able to be back in Philly by 3:15 pm. One rule: have fun! Ride may be canceled depending on the predicted weather and/or trail conditions. Check the website for changes and updates. Call or e-mail to confirm that the ride is on.
