Frenchtown to Merrill Creek Reservoir Challenge
Level B-, 13-15 mph, 63 miles. Frenchtown - parking lot just below Bridge St, between river and Canal Trail. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1579978.
Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862Hilly but pretty loop through Warren and Hunterdon Counties, NJ, to the scenic Merrill Creek Reservoir. This route includes a couple of 400-ft climbs, and one 640-ft climb, but the vistas from the summits are magnificent. We'll be riding mostly on quiet and shaded country roads, but passing through the towns of Milford, Riegelsville, Stewartsville, and Bloomsbury. Initial and final stretches of the route, along River Road, are flat. The challenging hills section, ~10 miles of climbing, is in the middle. Total elevation gain is 5100 ft, but we will stop to regroup as needed. Food stops at mile 24 in Stewartvsille (before climbing to the Reservoir), and at mile 46 in Bloomsbury. (We'll also have a brief photo/scenery stop at the Reservoir at mile 31.) From the food stop in Bloomsbury, we'll descend to the village of Little York, then return to Milford and Frenchtown via downhill-to-flat roads.
Saturday B Ride
Level B, 15.5-16.5 mph, 45-55 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.

Level C+, 13-14 mph, 40-50 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am.

Flat to rolling terrain. Challenging yet manageable climbing miles 27-34 followed by long and fast 3 mile descent prior to stop at Bowers Park. Another 3 miles of climbing after rest stop / lunch before flattening out for remainder of return. Rest stop at Turkey Hill at mile 19, longer rest stop at midway point to take in the Festival and/or lunch on the patio at The Bowers Hotel (www.bowershotel.com) with final stop at Wawa at mile 62. No one dropped / regroup as necessary but please be prepared to maintain the listed pace.

We’ll average on the fast side of C at 12.5 to 13 mph. One great downhill but mostly ramps coming back according to Harry. Re-grouping at hill tops to wait for the leader will be mandatory. Parking in the rear of the restaurant is free on Sundays.

Pretty standard route to Valley Forge, over the Betzwood Bridge, SRT to Schuylkill Ave, rest/food stop at Genuardi's, through the Farm Park, near Ambler, through Chestnut Hill, back via MLK Drive. A bit more than 50 miles.
Wandering to Warrington

Rest stop (roughly mile 32) is Wegman's for indoor bathrooms and snack. Low traffic. No major climbs. No one dropped. Regroup as necessary. Lousy weather angers ride leader and cancels ride.
Sunny Sunday D Ride
Level D, 8-11 mph, 18-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.
