Where the Buffalo Roam (No email = no ride)

Level B/B-, 13-14 mph, 74 miles. Green Lane Park, Snyder Rd and Deep Creek Rd parking lot. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Cue sheets will be available.
    Leader: Michael Fuller, , 610-551-8256

OK, this is a VERY BIG ride. Starting at Green Lane Park, Snyder Road parking lot, it winds through Montgomery and Lehigh Counties to the Trexler Nature Preserve just a bit North of Allentown. There are free ranging Elk and Buffalo in the Preserve (behind really big fences). The scenery is absolutely spectacular. Bring your camera. Now for the fine print. I found every “creek” and “valley” road I could find, but did I mention the destination is North of Allentown? There is a lot of climbing. MOST of it is on “creek” and “valley” roads at about 2% – 3%. Most of the “creek” roads are in the shade. (A few covered bridges in the shade too). There are 4 major hills which can not be avoided, at mile: 1.5, 31.9, 44.6, 54.9 (unless you want to ride on Rt 22, 29, 78, 100, 222 – you get the picture). The last 16 miles are predominantly down hill. There are 3 FULL SERVICE (food/H2O/indoor potty) stops at 20, 38, and 54 miles. If anyone wants to give it a try, I will do a LOT of regrouping. Since this is a remote start location (20 mile drive for me), NO EMAIL = NO RIDE. If/when you email, I will attach photos of an Elk and a Buffalo in the reply. (Email by 2:00 PM Friday 7-5-13)
