Park # 1: Schuylkill Banks. After that, Urban Riding Skills will be needed. Many city streets to get to Park # 2: Cobbs Creek Parkway Bike Path and Community Environmental Center. Many suburban streets, perhaps a quick H2O stop, then Park # 3: Bailey Park and Pennsy Trail, quickly followed by Park # 4: Grasslyn Park. A few miles later, Park # 5: Merwood Park. We will pass Normandy Park (or circle it if so desired – it is quite small), on the way to the FOOD STOP (the most important part of the ride). Trader Joes and/or Farmers Market. After FOOD, we will cut through Park # 6: Wynnewood Valley Park, then on to Park # 7: Shortridge Memorial Park. After that, the Cynwyd Trail and Park # 8: Cynwyd Station Park. Saved the biggest park for last. Park # 9: Fairmount Park, via MLK Drive. Numerous other parks and playgrounds passed along the way. So what's the catch? This is a brand new route. I have ridden most of the roads within the past month, but if there is construction somewhere, I may have to stray off course a bit.
