The ride will initially be a mix of dirt and loose rocks, and then become mostly smooth crushed limestone and paved trail. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark.
Thursday Night Hill Ride
Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides
Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. On the return, we can stop if needed for a break and cold refreshments at either the Outbound Station cafe, or, the Riverbend Cafe (Mile 46, where we exit the SRT). Most of the outbound and return segments are flat, along the SRT. POST-RIDE MINI-TAILGATE PARTY at Laurel Beech Park: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. Laurel Beech Park on East Mermaid Lane is ~1 block from Mermaid & Cheltenham Ave. The park is next to Robertson's Florist/Nursery. Pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862Pretty loop from Chestnut Hill to Bucks County (Warrington & Jamison) with a Wawa rest stop at mid-way, then, return to Chestnut Hill for the afternoon cook-out for BCP's Sunday rides. Outbound via Ft. Washington, Dresher, and Maple Glen. Snack & bathroom stop at the mega-Wawa in Warrington/Jamison at Mile 23. Return via Hartsville, Horsham, and Oreland, including a peaceful stretch on Creek Rd, along the Little Neshaminy Creek. Total elevation gain is 2300 ft - mostly rolling, with more climbing before the mid-way rest stop. Towards the end of the ride in Chestnut Hill (1 mile from the Start/Finish), we are invited to a cook-out/picnic for the BCP Sunday rides. The plan is to arrive at the picnic no later than 12:30pm.

It is a D ride but it has some hill climbs that will help increase your appetite. We will stop at the top of hills to allow breathing to return to normal before riding again. Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides
Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Cue sheets will be available.

We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable.

This route takes us on some lovely roads in Rushland and Wycombe, Bucks County. On the outbound, there is an optional quick rest break at mile 14. We will cycle over the Ben Franklin Bridge to Hessian Ave in Verga, NJ then to Red Bank Battlefied Park. Pack a lunch for picnic on the banks of the Delaware River.

We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable.

As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark.
Thursday Night Hill Ride

Today's starting point will be Luray Manor, the meeting point for SCU's week-long Ocean City event. "DAY-TRIPPERS" are warmly welcome to join us for this Friday ride -- it is NOT necessary to register for the whole week or weekend package. We'll ride from Ocean City to Mays Landing and Tuckahoe, then circle back to O.C. on quiet roads. Nice views of the river near Mays Landing. We have a Wawa stop in Mays Landing at mile 21, then a rest stop in Tuckahoe at mile 34. Terrain is FLAT (674 ft elevation for the whole route), although we may have some headwinds. We need to meet by 7:30am and keep a 10 mile hour pace with one coffee stop in Sweedsboro, NJ as to catch the 12:30 pm ferry. Pack a lunch since arrivel in Delaware City may not be until 1:30 pm. There are many restaurants in Delaware. All day ride. We take Rt 551 all the way. There is an option to take the train back from Wilmington, DE making a 56 mile event or cycle on to Philly for 85 miles. We'll first head down the NJ side to Washington's Crossing, use a bridge to get to the PA side, and then ride up to Bull's Island for a bathroom break and a picnic lunch (not provided, bring your own goodies). We'll then head up towards Frenchtown for a few miles, before turning back to finish the ride. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind a few rougher sections here and there. The NJ side is mostly smooth crushed stone, the PA side more of a mixed bag, but nothing outrageous. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. Hope you can join us.

Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862Picturesque adventure ride from Central NJ to Sandy Hook, a 1665-acre barrier peninsula which protrudes into the bay between NJ & NY. Sandy Hook offers a view of the Manhattan skyline, as well as 7 miles of beaches, a lighthouse, and a holly forest. Shortly before reaching the seashore, we'll stop at the Mt. Mitchell Scenic Overlook County Park, which includes a memorial to the heroes of 9-11. This county park provides a spectacular overlook of Sandy Hook Bay and the NYC skyline. The route to & from Sandy Hook will take us along the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, as well as the Swimming River Reservoir. Beginning and ending portions of the route are rolling, with a few brisk climbs, but we will stop to regroup as needed. Total elevation gain is 2189 feet. Middle portion of the route (near and on the beach) is flat. Food stops at mile 25 and 45, + an optional Rita's Water Ice stop at mile 62, near the finish. DRIVING DIRECTIONS to the starting point (Visitor Center of Monmouth Battlefield State Park): 1) NJ Turnpike North to Exit 8/Hightstown & Freehold. 2) From Exit 8 ramp, turn right onto NJ-33 East/Franklin St. Stay on 33 East. 3) After crossing CR 527/Millhurst Rd, NJ-33 will split into Business and Expressway. Take the right-lane exit for 33 Business, then bear right at bottom of ramp for 33 Bus East. Look for sign for Monmouth Battlefield Visitor Center. Turn left into Visitor Center entrance. Ride the Samuel Baxter Trail to a Dunken Donut coffee stop, through the gunning range of the Philadelphia Police Academy. Then take the Pennypack Trail up to Pine Rd. From there on to the Montgomery County Pennypack Trail to it's end. Turning back, we will cycle Oxford Ave through The Greater Northeast, Frankford and Port Richmond. You can pack a lunch or by one along the upper trail. An all day ride.
Frenchtown to Merrill Creek Reservoir Challenge - TWO LEADERS, TWO PACES
Levels B+: 15mph, B-: 13.5-14mph, 63 miles. Meet at Frenchtown - parking lot just below Bridge St, between river and Canal Trail. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will be available. The on-line route map is http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1579978.
Leaders: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862 and Daniel Operacz, , 267-265-9358Hilly but pretty loop through Warren and Hunterdon Counties, NJ, to the scenic Merrill Creek Reservoir. This route includes a couple of 400-ft climbs, and one 640-ft climb, but the vistas from the summits are magnificent. We'll be riding mostly on quiet and shaded country roads, but also passing through the quaint towns of Milford, Riegelsville, Stewartsville, and Bloomsbury. Initial and final stretches of the route, along River Road, are flat. The challenging hills section, ~10 miles of climbing, is in the middle. Total elevation gain is 5100 ft, but we will stop to regroup as needed. Food stops at mile 24 in Stewartvsille (before climbing to the Reservoir), and at mile 46 in Bloomsbury. (We'll also have a brief photo/scenery stop at the spectacular Reservoir at mile 31.) From the food stop in Bloomsbury, we'll descend to the village of Little York, then return to Milford and Frenchtown via downhill-to-flat roads. Depending on where you live, please allow an hour for the drive to Frenchtown. TWO LEADERS, TWO PACES: Dan Operacz has graciously offered to lead a group at a 15mph pace. Thank you, Dan! Linda will lead at a 13.5 - 14.0 pace.

Old SSC, New SSC, Schuylkill Trail, Perkiomen Trail, Skippack Trail, Lower Perkiomen Park, Pennhurst, Pottstown, Swamp Picnic Rd, Green Lane Park, Groffs Mill Park, Harleysville, and the Lower Perkiomen Little League baseball field. We will do a moderate pace with regrouping, but it is NOT a “C” ride (3900 ft elevation gain) 2 full service rest stops (food, H2O, bathrooms) 23 and 43 miles.

Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
Leader: Simon Knight, , 215-219-9555Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.
