Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today, following a park rest stop at mile 18, we'll ride to the Bagel Barrel in Doylestown for our lunch stop (mile 29). It's a familiar destination and loop for many of us, but with a twist. We'll be taking as many alternate roads (from what we usually do) out and back as possible. So something new for many of us. Expect good company, lots of safe, and low trafficked roads, and for the most part, not too much in the way of hills. The worst will be an uphill stretch mid-ride and taking the 202 trail on our return. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely, obey traffic laws and follow: https://phillybikeclub.org/bcp_covid_19_rider_guidelines.pdf. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy - rain cancels, but will likely reschedule for Wed. NOTE: Ride starts @ 9:00 June-Aug, 9:30 in Sept & 10:00 in Oct. The 4th Tues. of the month starts @ Central Pk, Doylestown. 5th Tues. (June 29 & Aug. 31) @ Centre Square Park, Blue Bell

All you need for these one night adventures is a working bicycle with a luggage rack on the back of your bike, a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, a tent, a set of rear panniers (you could get away with a sturdy trash bag and bungee cords) for equipment. You may be able to borrow this equipment from club members so you can try it before you buy it. A change of cycling clothes, cool weather apparel, rain gear, and a Jacket. A spirit of resiliency comes in handy too. The first tour will be to Green Lane Park, 42 miles out the Schuylkill River Trail and the Perkiomen Trail on Saturday, June 12th returning Sunday, June 13th. The second tour will be to Lumps Pond, DE State Park, 45 miles through the industrial heartland of Southern Eastern PA and Northern Delaware. Sunday, June 20th, return Monday, June 21st. ( take Monay off from work. ) The third tour I will try something new. It will be two nights at French Creek PA State Park. Out the Schuylkill River Trail past Pottstown, then up a challenging switch back bike tail almost to the park. You can do it! A day of country cycling in Berks County the second day and return down to St Peters Village for a second breakfast and onto Phoenixville, PA via Pughtown Rd. Dates are Monday, July 5th through Wednesday, July 7th. Rain or Shine. Contact the leader for more information and with any questions.

    Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037

I hear that there is a bike trail over the Bayonne Bridge. Let's find out by taking the train to New York City. We will cycle from Pennsylvania Station over to the West side. Then ride up the Hudson River Greenway to the George Washington Bridge. Once over the Hudson River, we will turn south from Fort Lee, NJ to Bayonne, NJ going through Jersey City and Hoboken. It might take some discovery to find the bicycle approach to the Bayonne Bridge and patience in desending and off the bridge on Staten Island. From there we will ride over the Goethals Bridge into Elizabeth, NJ, taking the train back to Philly. We will catch the 7:44am train to Trenton, NJ then board the NJTRANSIT train bound for New York City, 8:56am arriving in Amtrak's Pennsylvania Station around 10:14 am. Since this is a fact finding ride, not sure of the timing from there. But getting the 3:37pm train in Elizabeth NJ or go afew stations south. Return to Philadelphia around 6pm. Limit to four including myself so three really because of SEPTA only allows two bikes to a car. Even though there might be five cars to the train, usually only two cars are open. Preregistration is a must. Meet at the Dunkn Donuts in the main lobby of AMTRAK 30th Street Station by 7:25 am. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.

    Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037

A friend of mine mentioned Vincentown, NJ to me. I thought, I know that town from cycling with the Cycling Enthusiasts bike club in the middle years of the nineteen seventies! Wow! I haven't been there in 35 years. We will ride up through the River Wards of Philadelphia, walking our bikes across the Tacony Palmyra Bridge. From there to Vincetown over the back roads. Returning a creative route back. An all day ride. Bring a few snacks incase there is no refreshment places until Vincentown. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.

Barmouth 'BIG C' to the Chester Creek Trail

Level C+/C: 11.5-12mph, 46 miles. Meet at Bsrmouth Station Trail Head parking lot. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
    Leader: Michael Fuller, , 610-551-8256

If you can ride to the start, please ride. Parking is limited: About 20 spaces at Barmouth (end of Levering Mill Rd at the top of the West Laurel Hill cemetery trail), about 20 spaces at Cynwyd Station at the top of the Cynwyd Trail (corner of Bala Av and Montgomery Av), about 20 spaces at Bala Cynwyd Park (Trevor Ln and Llandrillo Rd) 300 feet up the trail from the start. I am starting at Barmouth to keep the ride distance reasonable and stay closer to Philly for BCP riders. You MAY want to arrive EARLY (15 minutes?) to make sure you get parking. We will see how it goes :) OK, now the ride. Lollipop loop. Out and back through Penn Wynne and Havetown, down to Media for H2O at WAWA. Chester Creek Trail (I suggest the camera often, but this trail is especially nice). Up through Chester Park in Brookhaven, then Rabbit Run Rd, Possum Hollow Rd, Bicyclists Baltimore Pike, WAWA H2O #2, then back up to Havertown for the return trip. There are a couple of steep hills. We will wait at the top for everyone. Moderate pace, 2 H2O stops, a lot of neighborhoods, and the CCT.

CANCELLED Willow Grove to New Hope

Level C: 12mph, 35 miles. Meet at Willow Grove Train Station. The ride leaves at 10:30 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
    Leader: Adam Mitry, , 445-400-4052

Posponed Due To Wet Roads So, this is my first led ride in quite some time. The route is pretty straightfoward (and adventurous). This ride leaves from the Willow Grove Train Station (for those in Philly). If you want to drive to the station, the lot is free. We will ride into New Hope for a stroll and a quick lunch. After lunch, we will ride to Yardley to catch the train back to the city. We can also go to Trenton depending on the schedules. SEPTA runs every 2 hours on weekends. A couple of WAWA stops too as it will be a bit humid. NOTE- The West Trenton line stops in Jenkintown..I usually bike home from there. The Trenton line goes all the way to CC. The milage from Jenkintown to WG is about 4.5

Main Street 'Middle C' to Bryn Athyn and Upper Pennypack Trail

Level C: 11.5-12mph, 39 miles. Meet at Main Street Manayunk Movie Theater. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
    Leader: Michael Fuller, , 610-551-8256

Meet in the WEST END of the parking lot by the PENCOYD BRIDGE :) The Upper Pennypack Trail is crushed stone dust and gravel. Mostly small, pea sized gravel. I have done it on a road bike 2 times in the past. I will be using 25mm tires. Bring wider tires if you want, but most (33) of today’s miles are on pavement so a mountain bike will make it a difficult ride. This ride is modified from a longer route so the H2O stops are not symmetrical: 12 and 27 miles. It will be a hot day. We will stop both times to top off the H2O. Very scenic. Some hills. Moderate pace with regrouping at hill tops and traffic signals. Remember sun screen, camera, etc :)

    Sunny Sunday D Ride
