    Levels B+: 16-17mph, B: 14-15mph, B-: 13-14mph, C+: 12-13mph, 45 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. The on-line route map is SRT-VFNHP-CVT.

Welcome to November, when the forecast will determine the day of the week that we'll ride, and when we'll also mix up start locations. Note today's start doesn't have bathrooms or water - first opportunity is 9 miles into the ride. Today's ride is all but about 7 miles paved trail: The Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) to Betzwood Park where we'll cut thru Valley Forge National Historical Park (VFNHP) to the Chester Valley Trail (CVT), and back. The SRT is flat, the VFNHP area is somewhat hilly (nothing steep) and the CVT is a gradual uphill on the way out - not particularly noticeable until you turn around and miraculously start to pick up speed on the gradual downhill return. Rest stops at Betzwood Park (mile 8.7 - water and bathrooms) and our turnaround (mile 22.5 - water and bathrooms). Lunch stop on the return at Wegman's in Malvern (mile 27 - virtually on the trail). We'll regroup as needed, but be prepared to maintain the posted pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy. Rain or a decent threat of rain will cancel. Will make a call at least an hour prior to start time. Note that anyone looking to add more miles can easily do so on the return. Going left at Betzwood can take you all the way to Pottstown. Continuing on the trail at the finish can give you 7+ additional round trip miles (turning around at Shawmont - the end of the paved section).

Merchantville Train Station, A Different Way

Level D: 10mph, 20 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Cue sheets will not be available.
    Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037

I want to try something different in a sense. We will cycle over the Ben Franklin Bridge to Camden, NJ. Then board the River Line to Riverton, NJ and cycle back to the Merchantville Train Station Cafe. After a coffee, continue home on our bikes from there. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.
