Sat May 15, 2010 - Hills of Northern Chester County

Level C+/-, 10-12 mph, 26 miles. Charlestown Elementary School, 2060 Charlestown Rd., Malvern, PA 19355-1555. The ride leaves at 10:30 am. C+ hills at a C- pace. Northern Chester County is hilly … period! But that means there’s lots of nice downhills too, so the final average speed may actually turn out to be a C pace. We’ll attempt to tame those hills, from beginning to end, by taking a steady, easy pace through the beautiful countryside with a well-deserved rest stop at Kimberton Whole Foods. But don’t eat too much … there’s more hills to come. Expect a stretch of (flat) packed dirt and gravel road for about .8 mile. The ride will regroup as needed, probably at the top of those hills – no one left behind. Bring water, cash, snacks. No restrooms at start of ride … might need to find some woods. Multi-club ride.
