    Level C/C-: 10.5-12mph, 26 miles. Meet at Riverbend Cycles, Station Ave, Conshohocken. The ride leaves at 5:00 pm. BCP's Monthly Newsletter Mailing Party is tonight (Wednesday), instead of Tuesday. Pedal from Spring Mill downtown via the SRT to Center City, to help Tom Witt and his crew prepare the August newsletter for mailing. Light refreshments will be served. Our bikes will be parked outside, so PLEASE bring a LOCK. Also, please have LIGHTS for the return trip. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Wed August 1, 2018 - Phoenixville Dog Ride, B-/C+, 13.5-14.5

    Level C+: 13.5mph, 20-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. The daylight Phoenixville dog rides begin in May and continue through September. Rolling to hilly rides on low-traffic roads. Regroup as necessary. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the posted speed on rolling to hilly terrain. On the last Wednesday of each month, we will have a day/night ride. We start riding in the daylight and continue after sunset with headlights and taillights. A strong headlight and taillight are required. On the last Wednesday in June, we will ride a metric century.

    Level A-: 18-20mph, 25-45 miles. Meet at Flourtown Shopping Center. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Weekly ride where the route will change every week (i.e., hilly, flat or rolling). Distance will increase as we get more day light (and decreases accordingly). Please bring LIGHTS for use at dusk. Note that this is a relatively fast ride so be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels).     Levels B-: 14-15mph, 35-55 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. We will ride west on the SRT , make a Loop in Valley Forge Park, then continue west to Phoenixville for coffee and snack break.. we will then ride to the end of the pavement on the Perkiomen Trail before returning to Conshy. Opportunity for some intervals or sprints on the flat trail . No drops but should be able to ride posted pace (it’s flat!) . Bring water ,snacks and helmet.     Level B-/C+: 13-15mph, Sunlight determines miles. Meet at North Penn High School. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. The ride will depart from North Penn High School - meet behind the school near the bus depot at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: C+/B-, Speed: 13-15 mph. We will meet at 6pm every Thursday evening through the end of September. The rides will begin the season at 13-14mph and increase to occasional 15-16mph rides as the season slowly progresses. The riding distance is determined by the amount of sunlight. Come on out and discover new roads and routes. We never repeat a route during a single season. Cue sheets will not be available.     Thu August 2, 2018 - Thursday Night Hill Ride

    Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. This year we will have 2 different paced groups. Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-30 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu August 2, 2018 - Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides

    Levels B: 14-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces (13-14, 14-16, 17-18) on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri August 3, 2018 - Friday Afternoon Frolic w/Linda. Montco Meander from UDHS at 12:30

    Level B-: 14mph, 35-40 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 12:30 pm. For 8/3: Leader has to work in the morning, so this will be an afternoon ride. Montgomery County loop leaving from UDHS, with a Wawa rest stop. Plan is to return before 4:00pm, since Leader is organizing the BCP display tent at the Friday Night Races at the Velodrome in Trexlertown tonight. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

Ride the beautiful buttery smoothness of Goshen Road! Ride leaves promptly at 7:00 AM so that we're back before 11am!! Riders doing the listed pace will not be dropped (riders failing to keep pace at City Ave are encouraged to break off). Regroups are as needed, but there are no advertised stops.     Levels A: 16-17mph, 40-55 miles. Meet at Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave. The ride leaves at 8:05 am. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 62 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. This week we are riding out to Valley Forge via White Horse Farms and Devon. There will be a snack break at Devon Donut & Bagel Co. Total gain is 3600 ft. There is an optional end of drink at Parks on Top at the Mount Pleasant Mansion.We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.     Level B-: 14mph, 77 miles. Meet at Long Bridge Park, 895 Deacon Rd, Hainesport, NJ 08036. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Scenic tour of rural Burlington County's farm and orchard country, based on/adapted from the Spellbound Century event ride held in late July. Very pretty and peaceful landscapes, crossing a creek or two. Terrain is gently rolling, with total elevation gain of 2000 ft. Dunkin' Donuts at Mile 18, farmer's market/orchard stops at mile 26 & 48, & 69. Driving Directions from Palmyra, NJ (Tacony-Palmyra Bridge): NJ-73 East > US-130 North > Right onto Creek Rd > Left onto Marne Highway > Cross over 295 & NJ Turnpike > Left onto Deacon Rd to the park.     Level A through D: 8-20mph, 13-45 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Multi-level ride group with 7 different paced groups ( D, C, C+, B-, B, B+, and A). The 7 groups range from a slow D level "hybrid / road" group that rides no more than 15 miles at 8-11 mph pace up to our fastest pace "A" ride group that rides at 18-20 mph and anywhere between 20 and 50 miles depending on sunset times.     Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, 35-50 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today we'll do an easy ride due to the heat - lunch at Del Val Farm Market (with quick pit stop on the way out). Expect a pretty tame route for the area: flat to rolling terrain (no big climbs), low traffic and good company. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). NOTE: THE LAST RIDE OF THE MONTH STARTS FROM CENTRAL PARK, DOYLESTOWN. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. This year we will have 2 different paced groups. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces (13-14, 14-16, 17-18) on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws.     Level B-: 14mph, 53 miles. Meet at Rose Tree Park, Providence Rd in Media. The park is near the US-1 Bypass/Providence Rd Exit. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Rose Tree Park in Media to Hoopes Reservoir & Centreville, DE for lunch. Pretty and scenic route through the Brandywine Valley, on peaceful roads which are popular with the Delaware Valley and White Clay Bike Clubs. Venture through Ridley Creek State Park, circle around Hoopes Reservoir, cross the Brandywine Creek a couple of times, and pass the Tyler Arboretum. On the outbound, there is a quick Wawa break at mile 12. Lunch at the Centreville Cafe is at mile 32. On the return, there is a Wawa stop if needed at mile 40. Rolling hills with a couple of brisk climbs, but a couple of flat stretches along Creek Rd, also. Total elevation gain 3689 feet. Earlier start time today (9:00am) - need to be back before 3:00pm. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions.     Meet at Valley Preferred Cycling Center (the Velodrome), 1151 Mosser Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031 (Trexlertown). The event starts at 6:00 pm. Rescheduled from Aug. 3. BCP will have a display tent in the plaza of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (aka, the Velodrome) in Trexlertown, during the Friday Night Races, sponsored by Bicycling Magazine. Gates open for Happy Hour at 6:00pm, but the ACTUAL RACES DO NOT BEGIN UNTIL 7:30pm, allowing you plenty of time to get there after work. BCP will be exhibiting here to promote our club's membership benefits & perks, as well as rides and upcoming events. MEMBERS APPRECIATION: The first TEN (10) members who RSVP to LMc will receive FREE ADMISSION.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 40 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. This week a short ride to try and avoid rain. regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, a spare tube, and two large water bottles. Please note that the RideWithGPS route lists a different start - but we will start at the usual place (Azalea Garden entrance behind the Art Museum). Optional after-ride drinks at the Oval. STARTING POINT was CHANGED (to the high school), AS OF 9:00PM, 8/11. Pretty loop with rolling hills from Alexis DuPont High School in Greenville, DE (north Wilmington), near the Brandywine Creek, west to the picturesque Hoopes Reservoir, then, north into lovely & green Chester County. PA. Some of the Potomac Pedalers are visiting the Brandywine/Longwood Gardens area this weekend, so this route will showcase some scenic roads. Cycle on Creek Rd, past Chadds Ford and Pocopson. Food stop at Northbrook Marketplace at mile 21. On the return, we'll pass the borders of Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, and return to Greenville on peaceful, green roads. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 miles by July.     Levels B: 14-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Join us for post ride pizza, ices and cold drinks, in appreciation of all the riders who make this fun. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces (13-14, 14-16, 17-18) on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available.     Fri August 17, 2018 - Friday Frolic w/Linda - SPECIAL OCEAN CITY EDITION, in conjunction with SCU's Ocean City Week.

    Level B-: 14mph, 55 miles. Meet at Luray Manor, 501 E. 7th Street (corner of 7th and Central), Ocean City, NJ, 08226. The ride leaves at 10:30 am. This route was created by Mike Krizauskas of SCU, BCP and the Jersey Shore Cycle Club. Today's starting point will be Luray Manor, the meeting point for SCU's week-long Ocean City event. "DAY-TRIPPERS" are warmly welcome to join us for this Friday ride -- it is NOT necessary to register for the whole week or weekend package. We'll ride from Ocean City to Mays Landing and Tuckahoe, then circle back to O.C. on quiet roads. Nice views of the river near Mays Landing. We have a Wawa stop in Mays Landing at mile 21, then a rest stop in Tuckahoe at mile 34. Terrain is FLAT (674 ft elevation for the whole route), although we may have some headwinds. Please bring sunblock with you. If you are driving to Ocean City on Friday morning for this ride, please allow at least 75 mins drive time, due to normal weekday commuter traffic. Anyone who doesn't get the movie reference to the ride title has some required viewing prior to Sat morning. We will start off on W River Rd with a paceline. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.0 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. This week we will ride to Delaware via Swarthmore & return via Ridley Creek State Park. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. On the outbound, there are places to take a quick bathroom/snack break at mile 16. After lunch at Tabora's, we'll cycle around the perimeter of peaceful Lake Galena. On the return, there are optional Wawa stops if needed, at mile 38 (Colmar), or 44 (North Wales). GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Pretty loop from Upper Dublin High School to Doylestown, with two QUICK rest stops for snacks & bathroom. Along the way, we'll ride through Horsham and Warrington, Jamison, New Britain, and Springhouse. We'll cross the picturesque Neshaminy Creek on Dark Hollow Rd. Quick rest stops - Wawa at mile 17 in Jamison, and Weis Market in Doylestown at mile 28. Terrain is rolling - total climbing is 2236 ft - nothing severe. Plan is to return by 4:45-5:00pm.
