    Fri June 12, 2020 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Testing 1-2-3. UDHS to Wawa in Jamison

    Level B-: 14mph, 42 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. BCP is officially restarting group rides this weekend, with safety measures to mitigate COVID-19. Today's Friday Frolic, we will be implementing safe social distancing - 20 ft apart while riding, at least 6 ft apart when stopped. Please bring mask and hand sanitizer with you. (Mask will be required at rest stops.) PREREGISTRATION option has been set-up for this ride, to save you writing time at the start.     Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:55 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+". The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace.     Level B-: 14mph, 47+ miles. Meet at Central Park in Doylestown - Wells Rd between Turk and Lower State/Court St.. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Pretty loop in Bucks County, from Central Park in Doylestown to Kimberton Whole Foods in Ottsville. Weather forecast looks gorgeous! Total climbing 2515 ft. Outbound via Pipersville, return via Bedminster. Lots of wide open, green landscapes along the way. Food stop in Ottsville is at the mid-way point. Pretty and peaceful meander around scenic Hunterdon County, NJ, with multiple river crossings. Wawa stops at Mile 16 and 33. Option to make another stop if needed at QuickChek at Mile 51 in Ringoes, on the return. Total climbing is 2992 ft, with plenty of green vistas and quaint towns.     Level D: 10mph, 15 to 25 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Come along on a ride with new distancing and old destinations. Bring a mask so you won't be seen with a smile upside-down. This ride is designed for novice riders or those new to Philadelphia. All you need is a working bicycle and a bicycle helmet.     Mon June 15, 2020 - Art Museum to Village Treats, Narberth

    Level C- through D: 10-12mph, 15.5 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 5:45 pm. A leisurely evening ride from The Art Museum to Village Treats in Narberth and back. 7.5 miles out via West Fairmount Park, a short stop for ice cream in Narberth, 8 miles back via Strawberry Mansion Bridge with pre-sunset views of the city, and East Fairmount Park. New riders are welcome. A helmet is required. Bring water, a spare inner tube, and money for our stop. hand sanitizer is suggested. You must bring a mask, but do not need to wear it while riding. Please pre-register for the ride, which is limited to 10 people. We expect to return around 8 pm; sunset is at 8:31 pm. Cue sheets will be available. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Relaxed pace. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co, with a brief rest stop for snack bathroom. Meet in the library parking lot. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. This is a much slower version of the Thursday Night Hill Ride! It is the shorter version for now but as we get into August we will do the longer route. Plus I do this backwards ounce in a while. Seven Hills! Out to Penn Valley, down Mill Creek Rd to Flat Rock Park on the Montgomery County banks of the Schuylkill River, up out of the valley via Hollow and Hagys Ford Rds.     Level B: 15mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. Cue sheets will not be available. Bike lights are highly recommended. Please bring a mask for when off the bike and review Club rules for COVID-1. Ride from UDHS to the Cup o' Joe Cafe in Harleysville is a pretty route through Montgomery County, with a little dash of Bucks County. Outbound via Wrenfield. Porta-potty & brief snack break in Highlands Park at Mile 13. Lunch stop at Cup o' Joe in Harleysville at Mile 26. (We can sit outside, for social distancing.) Return via West Point and BlueBell. Total climbing 2063 ft. If another water/potty or ice cream break is needed on the return, we can stop at Merrymead Farm at Mile 34, if the group would like. Pleasant morning ride to the newest attraction in the Wisahicon Park, the Rittenhouse Town Coffee and Bicycle Repair Shop. We take a little easier route out of the Schuylkill River Valley to W Hunting Park Ave and Henry Ave, Walnut Lane Bridge to enter Rittenhouse Town off Wisahicon Ave. Route home is over the paved Wisahicon Trail to Ridge Ave and down Martin Luther King Dr. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.     Sat June 20, 2020 - ICE CREAM on a Hot Day - Gwynedd/North Wales to Owowcow Creamery in Wrightstown, Bucks County. COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies in Effect (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B-: 14mph, 55 miles. Meet at Parkside Place Park, Sumneytown Pike. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Scenic and pretty route, from Parkside Place Park in Upper Gwynedd to the OWowCow Creamery in Wrightstown, Bucks County. The outbound portion will include the 202 Parkway Trail, and the return will include the Horsham Power Line trail. At mile 12, we can take a quick bathroom/snack break if needed at the Del Val College Market on Lower State Rd in Doylestown. The ice cream & lunch stop is at mile 28. There is an organic food market, a country store (sandwich shop/deli), and a pizzeria/Italian restaurant near the creamery in the same complex. On the return, at mile 38, we can stop at Wawa for water, etc. The middle portion of this route is particularly green and peaceful, and crosses two creeks (Jericho and Neshaminy). MEETING POINT: Parkside Place Park on Sumneytown Pike is across the street from the huge Merck building. Meet in the parking lot across from the public swimming pool.     Sat June 20, 2020 - Spring Mill Saturday C

    Level C: 12mph, 26 miles. Meet at SEPTA Spring Mill Station Parking Lot Off of E. Hector St. in Conshohocken. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Meet in the Spring Mill SEPTA parking lot on Hector St, opposite the late Riverbend Cycles. Bring enough H2O and snacks to last the entire ride. Make a potty stop before you arrive (McDonalds on Rt 23 in West Conshy). This route was designed for the Thursday evening rides, and no rest stop is built into the ride. It will be a true “C” ride with regrouping. Organizing a series of Cycle Touring Backpacking, this tour will be to French Creek PA State Park, two days of vigorous cycling and one overnight camping. We will go out the Schuylkill River Trail to Servpro of Reading them up, and I mean up to the state park and campground. Return by Pughtown Rd, Phoenixville and the SRT.     Sat June 27, 2020 - Annual Trek to Mount Gretna - COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies in Effect

    Level B-/C+: 13.5-14.5mph, 75/48 miles. Meet at Shady Maple Farm Market on PA-23 in Goodville, Lancaster Co. (PA Turnpike West to Morgantown/Exit 298. Take PA-10 South for 1 mile to PA-23 West. Right at PA-23. Straight on 23 West for 8 miles, then turn left into Shady Maple parking lot. The ride leaves at 8:15 am. Beautiful ride through Lancaster and Lebanon Counties for an al fresco lunch at the historic Jigger Shop in the town of Mount Gretna, based on Dave Ziccardi's classic route. Moderately to dramatically rolling terrain with a few flat and sustained climbing sections on the way out. After the short climb out of Mount Gretna, the way back will be noticeably easier and will include a brief water stop. Anyone wanting to ride a slower pace and/or do fewer miles can opt for a self-guided (after mile 21.3), less hilly 48 mile route which skips Mt. Gretna. Start PROMPTLY AT 8:30, so please plan to arrive by 8:15, in order to stay ahead of the afternoon heat. If it's your first time doing this ride, please contact leader by evening by Friday evening, with questions re. driving directions or parking. Bad weather, including extreme heat, will cancel. A go/no-go message will be added to this listing by 6:30 a.m. if the weather is questionable. HEAT ADVISORY: Although this route is LOVELY, we will have limited amounts of shade.     Level B: 14mph, 20-35 miles. Meet at Westlakes Corp Center. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. PLEASE RSVP - Small "B" category rides starting Monday 6/8/20. Meet at Westlakes Corporate Center Parking on the Chester Valley Trail. This is behind the new Springhill Suites Hotel off of Rte. 252. We'll ride many of the roads that we use on the COS rides. Will break into groups of less than 10 and abide by the SCU/BCP COVID-19 Mitigation Guidelines at all times. Ride leader(s) will sign you in. Will publish route on Monday mornings so you can download to device. No cue sheets will be handed out. Cue sheets will not be available.     Level D: 10mph, 20 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. We will cycle a traditional route out to Le Petit Mitron for a coffee and French pastries. Return via Bryn Mawr Ave and Rock Hill Rd. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to the start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Tue June 30, 2020 - Delightful, Delicious D (& D+/C-) Tuesday Evening Ride. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT

    Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-30 miles. Meet at Glenside Public Library parking lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Scheduled for most Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Relaxed pace. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co. Meet in the library parking lot. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. This Tuesday evening ride meets every Tuesday throughout the summer, weather permitting, unless there is another special club event in a different location.
