Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Release

I agree and understand that participation in Bicycle Club of Philadelphia ("BCP") sponsored activities is a purely voluntary recreational activity. For cycling events, it is BCP's policy that all participants obey all traffic laws and wear an approved safety helmet. Furthermore, by participating in a BCP cycling or other event, I hereby represent that (a) I am physically able and capable of meeting the stresses and demands of the activity involved, and for cycling events (b) I am able to operate my bicycle properly and safely, and (c) my bicycle is in good and safe mechanical and operating condition. For non-cycling events, I agree to act safely and obey any rules or regulations applicable to the event. I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks and dangers inherent in participating in this BCP event. I also knowingly and voluntarily assume the risk of injury resulting there from, including the acceptance of all anticipated and unanticipated risks associated with bike riding on roadways concurrently traveled on by other actors, such as, but not limited to, motor vehicles, pets, and animals. I understand that supervision, training or oversight may not be provided by BCP with respect to this event. By signing below and in consideration for being allowed to participate in BCP events I acknowledge that BCP and its directors, officers, members, volunteers, contributors, sponsors, ride leaders, and other event coordinators a) are not insurers of my personal safety or my property, b) do not assume any liability for personal injury or property loss sustained during this BCP event and c) are released from any and all liability, loss expense, attorneys fees, liens, claims for injury or death, and loss or damage specifically including, but not limited to, liability for their negligent, careless, reckless, grossly negligent, or intentional acts, stemming from or relating to past, current or future BCP organized, sponsored, managed, or operated events or activities. I have read and understand this notice and release, and intend to be legally bound by it. I also understand that if I am not willing to a) acknowledge the aforementioned risks, and (b) agree not to sue the aforementioned persons and BCP, I should not participate in this event. Note: If the rider/participant is under 18 years of age, both rider/participant AND parent or guardian MUST SIGN THIS NOTICE AND RELEASE. Use more than one line if additional space is required. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED, WEARING EARPLUGS OR EARPHONES AND CALLING "CLEAR" DURING RIDES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. IF YOU AREN'T A BCP MEMBER, PLEASE SUPPORT THE CLUB BY JOINING. AND DON'T FORGET TO THANK YOUR RIDE LEADER.
