Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     Thu March 28, 2024 - Thursday Morning Hill Ride - NEW TIME 9:30!

    Level C-: 11mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 9:30 am. A recurring ride in the general Penn Valley Area - ie the Hills! Destinations and length of rides open to rider input. PLEASE NOTE NEW 9:30 AM START TIME!! Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 9:30 am.

    Fri March 29, 2024 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Horsham Library to Plumsteadville - 5-Star Route by Charlie B. CO-LEADERS WELCOME

    Level B-/C+: 13-14mph, 46 miles. Meet at Horsham Township Library. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. For 3/29: Pretty and scenic route by Charlie B. from Horsham Library on Babylon Rd to Plumsteadville, Bucks County. Food stop at the half-way point at either Wawa, or the Salt Box. Outbound via Jamison and Buckingham. On the return, we'll cycle on part of the waterside path at Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park. Optional portapotty or rest room stops as needed along the route. CO-LEADERS WELCOME to lead ride groups at alternative speeds. Total elevation gain is 2310 ft, with no extreme climbs. Averages less than 50 ft/mile. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.     Fri March 29, 2024 - Checking Out the Manayunk Canal, Is It Open?

    Level D: 9mph, 24 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. The Manayunk Canal Tow Path at Flatrock Dam( lock 68) is supposed to reopen on Saturday March 30th. Maybe it will be open for us on our Friday morning ride. If so, we will cycle on to Tricycles since they have posted being open Thursday through Sunday now. If we need to go back at the construction site, we will go to Artesano for coffee in Manayunk. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat March 30, 2024 - Early Bird Ride to Coffee in Flourtown or Ambler (ad-hoc ride)

    Level C+: 13.5mph, 49 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Assemble at 8:30. Depart at 8:35 SHARP! Somewhat convoluted ride through East Fairmount Park, East Falls, Wyncote, and Flourtown to Starbucks in Flourtown (at mile 17 or so) or Wake in Ambler (at mile 21 or so) for 35-minute coffee stop (it’s all about the coffee), then return via Lower Gwynedd and Manayunk Bridge. Approx. 2,400 feet of climbing. Will regroup as necessary, but riders are expected to achieve posted speed (i.e., slower going up and faster going down, but an avg. of 13.5 mph over the course of the ride). :) Cue sheets will not be available.     Level B: 15mph, 35-80 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Pre-registration preferred. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level B-: 14mph Meet at Cynwyd Heritage Trail Head Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Various friendly rides departing FROM THE CYNWYD HERITAGE TRAIL HEAD PARKING LOT (TRAIN STATION - Bala Cynwyd) at specified time and ranging 30 - 65 miles (Off Season) 40 – 85 miles (In Season) with occasional century rides. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. CHECK DAILY RIDE LISTING for latest route information, details, etc. PREREGISTRATION IS OPTIONAL, BUT PLEASE KNOW THESE BENEFITS OF PREREGISTRATION: 1. UP-TO-MINUTE SCHEDULING CHANGES DUE TO WEATHER OR OTHER REASON. 2. YOU WILL KNOW WHERE I AM AS I WILL ADD THOSE WHO PREREGISTER TO MY LIVETRACK. 3. YOUR EMERGENCY INFORMATION WILL ALWAYS BE LEGIBLE.     Sat March 30, 2024 - Celebrate the beginning of Spring Ride rescheduled from 3/22/24

    Level C-: 12mph Meet at Ardmore Farmers Market . The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Rescheduled from last weekend a ride to Phoenixville for lunch. to celebrate the beginning of spring Ride will depart from the Ardmore Farmers Market heading out to the SRT following my new flatter route. Return route will also be flat except for that portion of the ride at the end of the SRT bringing us back to the Cynwd trail. The ride is canceled if KWY is reporting rain or the temperature is below 45 degrees 1 hour prior the beginning of the ride. Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 9:40 am.

    Sat March 30, 2024 - Doylestown Central Park to Ringoes & Sergeantsville - 2 Leaders, 2 Paces

    Levels B-/C+: 13-14mph, 49.1 miles. Meet at Central Park in Doylestown - Wells Rd between Turk and Lower State/Court St.. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty and scenic meander from Bucks County to peaceful Hunterdon County for coffee & lunch. This route has been slightly revised by Dmitri Levin, in order to avoid a couple of busy roads, and to replace them with quiet ones. Cycle through New Hope and Lambertville, on our way to Ringoes. [Hooray - the pedestrian path on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge remains open for cyclists and walkers!] Quick rest break if needed in Lambertville ~Mile 15, or at Ringoes Country Deli at Mile 22. Lunch at Covered Bridge Cafe & Market in Sergeantsville at Mile 29. Return from Sergeantsville toward the river via the winding and picturesque Lower Creek Rd. Recross the river to PA at Bulls Island. Quick rest break available if needed at Bulls Island, or the Lumberville Store on the PA side, at Mile 36. Pass peaceful creeks and green landscapes. START/FINISH at Doylestown Central Park: Main parking lot between the bathrooms and the Kids' Castle. CO-LEADER(S) WELCOME: We will have at least 2 Leaders and 2 pace groups: Dmitri Levin will lead a 14 - 14.5mph group, and Linda will lead a 13-14 group.     Sat March 30, 2024 - Pennypack Wissahickon connection

    Level C: 12mph, 56 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Let's ride to Pennypack park and then to the Wissahickon and back to the art museum. This ride has both paved and unpaved sections ( aka Forbidden Drive) so bring approriate tires! We will head to Penn treaty park via Spring Garden and then weave our way north to Pennypack park. We will ride through the park, through Bryn Athyn where we will find a spot for lunch-- we can either stay on the trail and eat at All Aboard Cafe ( brazilian inspired lunch truck on the trail) or go to Be Well Cafe and Bakery ( https://bewellbakery.com/) We will head back to the city via Willow Grove and White Marsh, dropping into the Wissahickon and Forbidden Drive back to the Art Museum via one of the river drives. This is going to be an all day adventure, so plan accordingly! The on-line route map is Pennypack wiss connection azalea start.     Sun March 31, 2024 - Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Casual paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond for all age riders who are new to group riding, returning after a biking layoff, or think they can have fun on a bicycle. Please wear helmet(required by the club.) Please bring extra tube and tools to fix a flat, water, proper dress for the weather, sunscreen, and $ for mid-ride snack stop. At the rest stop, there might be a discussion of a bike related safety issue. Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 12:00 pm.

    Sun March 31, 2024 - Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    Levels B- through C: 14mph, C+/C: 13mph, C: 12mph Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Some climbing is required. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 6:15 pm.
