Conshohocken to Philly Art Museum "Night Lights" Ride
Level C thru A, 12-18 mph, 27 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:15 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

We have 3 different groups (C, B and B+) which ride between 12 and 18 mph. We typically get @ 25 riders on warm nights. We meet 6pm at Jacobs Engineering parking lot, 2 Ash St., Conshohocken, PA. We leave the lot 6:15 sharp and head to the Philly Art Museum area via Roxboro, Manyunk and East Falls. Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862So, just how many Panera Bread cafes ARE there? Enough for cyclists to explore all over the Phila. region. Today's ride from Flourtown to the Panera in Broomall will take us through Chestnut Hill & East Falls, Bala Cynwyd, Haverford and Havertown. After lunch, we'll return via Villanova and Conshohocken. Rolling terrain with some steep climbs (including Neill Drive after crossing Falls Bridge), but we will stop to regroup as needed. Total elevation gain 3894 ft. Quick water stop at mile 19 and sit-down lunch stop at mile 30. On our return, we'll have an optional Wawa stop in Conshohocken at mile 42.

By end of ride, we will have averaged between 13 and 15 mph, i.e., including hills and flats. Partial cue sheets provided. We will assemble at 7:50 and leave at 8:00 am SHARP!
The SSC Outer Loop

Well, here's your chance. The 80 mile route will leave from the Spring Mill train station (where the Schuylkill Trail passes, just off Hector St., in Conshohocken). We will follow the SSC to Evansburg, to meet with any riders desiring to only do the 37 miles route. NOTE: Evansburg route will leave at 10:00, or immediately after the group arrive from Spring Mill. One convenience store stop is planned, which will be at/near the furthest point from the ride starts. Please plan accordingly. NOTE: SEPTA train arrives from center city at 8:00, hence the 8:15 start.
Saturday B Ride

On the return, we can stop at the Market at Delaware Valley College, south of Doylestown, at mile 38. Total elevation gain is 2980 feet. We'll stop to regroup as needed.

Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for three out of four Fridays in October (5th, 12th, and 26th). NO Friday Frolic ride on October 19, since the Leader will be at the Fall Foliage Weekend in Hanover/Gettysburg. This ride will resume on October 26, and continue every Friday in November, December, & throughout the winter, weather permitting. Beginning in November, start time will be slightly later, due to early morning chilly temps. If winter weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot), or a snow activity. We will go out MLK Dr. to the end, climb out of the valley to City Line Ave. Then to the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, crossing the Green Lane Bridge over the Schuylkill River, on to the Manayunk Canal Trail and SRT to our destination. We will return via River Road. I kept up with some of the discussion of D rides and C rides speeds and terrain so I am throwing in one or two hills to challenge any D riders who are up for the challenge and for average C riders to get the feel of reality that there will be hills and you might as well get an easy taste for them. If you don't, you will be limiting your cycling adventures. Rest stop in Collegeville @ half-way point. Part of the route will be on the shaded Perkiomen Trail, between Valley Forge and Oaks. This is a PAVED section of the trail -- NO gravel. Elevation gain is 3588 ft. Rolling terrain with some brisk climbs, but we will stop to regroup as needed.

This is a challenging ride but we will stop at some interesting places along the way. We'll look at some old buildings and learn a little about the history of Philadelphia as we ride along Kings Highway (now known as Frankford Avenue). Make sure your bike is in good condition - particularly your tires. Bring a spare tube - or two. You must wear a helmet. We will stay together as a group. No one will be dropped. Note the early 8:30 am start. That's so we can be back by noon - time for you to ride over to the Bike Expo at the 23rd Street Armory! We'll head out to Blue Bell, go thru the Farm Park and pick up the SRT and from there head to Phoenixville for lunch. We'll return to Conshy before 2pm via the SRT. To get to ride start location come over the Conshohocken bridge, make a right at the light, cross 1st traffic light at Harry St. then make your next right onto Ash St. and proceed to dead end at the river where we'll meet in the Jacobs Engineerring Parking lot located at 2 Ash St., Conshohocken, PA.

Leader: Rick Christie, , 610-787-1985This is a challenging ride (4400+ feet of climbing) with many rewards. Blue Mountain looms on the horizon for most of the ride, until the end, when a climb up Big Blue ends in a screaming descent to the parking lot. This ride features very low traffic roads, beautiful scenery, a flat first 20 miles, biplanes, Sikh and Hindu places of worship, a scenic wooded climb, and a rest stop at the half-way point.

We will ride to Evansburg St. Park and then Merrymead Farms at about mile 27. They have apples, cider and donuts this time of year, so bring cash. Costumes are optional, but encouraged. Depending on turnout, we'll divide into two paces or ride as one group. Will regroup as needed. Please arrive at 10:15 for a prompt 10:30 start.
Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride
Level D, 8-11 mph, 18-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Cue sheets will not be available.

Any age welcome, but will be a OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) ride. No one will be dropped. Mostly on low traveled areas, but will also be on the streets for some of the ride. We will pass the Azelea Garden before continueing to the Bike Expo at the 23rd St. Armory to end the ride.

Conshohocken to Philly Art Museum "Night Lights" Ride

We have 3 different groups (C, B and B+) which ride between 12 and 18 mph. We typically get @ 25 riders on warm nights. We meet 6pm at Jacobs Engineering parking lot, 2 Ash St., Conshohocken, PA. We leave the lot 6:15 sharp and head to the Philly Art Museum area via Roxboro, Manyunk and East Falls. We take a short 5 minute bathroom/snack break at Lloyd Hall before returning to Conshohocken by 8:30. Rain or starting temp. below 40F cancels the ride
