Leader: Tim Carey, , 267-414-9037These cold Winter days have forced me to start this ride at high noon to give the temperature a chance to rise. Today's ride will be short and easy. We will again cycle over to the Delaware River and ride the entire length of the newly constructed Delaware River Trail from Washington Ave to Penn Treaty Park. Coffee will be taken at La Colume in Fishtown on Frankford Avenue. Proof of Covid Vacation need to sit inside is needed. I wish to sit inside! If KYW is reporting rain, snow or icy road conditions outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels.

Sunday AM Winter Hike in the Pretty, Snow-Covered Wissahickon - CHANGE IN STARTING TIME, MEETING POINT, & ROUTE, due to snow on the roads and trails
Hike Swift Pace on Moderate Trails, Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 5.5 miles. Meet at Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves. The hike leaves at 9:45 am. The on-line route map is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38456567.

Microspikes and hiking poles are strongly recommended, for better traction in the snow. Meet at Bruno's, then we'll hike down Forbidden Drive, mostly flat, to the Valley Green Inn for a bathroom/snack break. Returning from Valley Green on Forbidden Drive toward Bell's Mill & Bruno's, just past the Covered Bridge, we'll take the cut-off up to the Yellow Trail for a short stretch of higher trails. For hikers who prefer to stay on a flat trail, staying on Forbidden Drive will shave off half a mile. The starting time has been pushed back to 9:45, in case driving on the roads is a bit slower than usual.

I will have extra tire, wheel, and tube to demonstrate and for others then to practice changing a tire. I will only be at Cosmic Cafe for the flat fixing if preregistered "fixers" will meet there. PLEASE NOTE THAT FIXING WILL BE AT THE COSMIC CAFE--2ND FLOOR AND WILL BE LIMITED TO 4 OTHER FIXERS BESIDES ME!!

Level B-: 14mph, ~4-5 miles. Meet at Ft. Washington State Park Hawk Watch Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 1:30 pm. Cue sheets will be available.
Leader: Linda McGrane, , 267-251-7862FOR SNOWY 1/30: Enjoy the fresh powder on cross-country skis - take advantage of ~5 inches of snow. Enjoy the pretty trails of Ft. Washington State Park, meeting at the Hawk Watch deck, which overlooks a downhill used for sledding. We'll probably see lots of kids on colorful sleds, too. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving through winter - maintain base fitness for spring cycling in March. COVID PRECAUTIONS will be maintained, based on the current public health guidelines in effect at the time.
