Going out via Upper Dublin High School and Cedar Hill Road, return via Gwynedd Mercy University and Brushtown Road. Several hills but no killers. 35-minute coffee stop at Backyard Beans. Thu May 2, 2019 - Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides
Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. NOTE: START TIME IN SEPT. IS 5:45. Cue sheets will not be available.

Thu May 2, 2019 - Thursday Night Hill Ride
Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Deferred for May 3, due to the Spring Weekend in Danville. This ride will resume next Friday, May 10. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. Level B-: 14.5mph, 48 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Assemble at 8:30. We willl leave at 8:35 SHARP! Ride through Belmont, Wynnewood, Havertown, Haverford, Merion, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Radnor, Devon, Wayne, Gulph Mills, Conshohocken, Manayunk, etc. Many hills, including 12 (or so) relatively long ones. One 35-minute coffee stop in Devon (Pour Richards) at mile 26 or so. (It's all about the coffee.) Will regroup at top of long hills as needed, but riders are expected to achieve advertised pace (which is what our computers read as "average" at the finish). PLEASE PREREGISTER: It saves time; and increases substantially my ability to read the important info on the sign-in sheet; and it does not matter if you do not show up since we will not wait beyond the scheduled start time. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. This week we'll climb ~ 4,500 ft. The ride will end at Parks on Tap at Rittenhouse Town (bring ID). Mon May 6, 2019 - Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides
Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B-: 14-15mph, C+: 13-14mph, 46 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today we'll have a quick bathroom break at The Del Val Farm Mark (mile 15.5) and then ride to Tabora Farms (mile 26) for a bite to eat. We'll climb a few good hills as we loop around Lake Galena, which will be good training for the SCU Quad. Otherwise, the usual PA rolling hills. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. This ride will leave early morning, in order to return home early to spend the rest of the day with Mom. On the outbound, at mile 15, we can take a quick bathroom break at Del Val College Market in Doylestown. The Lumberville Store is at mile 27. On the return, if another bathroom break is needed, there is a Wawa near the route around Mile 47. SHORT-CUT OPTION: if you would like to shorten your miles to return earlier, there is an option to turn around in Doylestown, which would cut off ~20 miles. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . Thu May 16, 2019 - Thursday Night Hill Ride
Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Level B-/C+: 13-14.5mph, 51 miles. Meet at Glenside Public Library parking lot. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty route from Glenside through Montgomery County, to Evansburg State Park. Outbound via Ambler, West Point, and North Penn. Return from Evansburg via East Norriton, Centre Square, and Flourtown. Two quick WAWA rest stops - one at mile 18 (North Penn), and one at mile 35 (East Norriton). Total climbing is 2259 ft, as per https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12735572. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Green Lane Park camp ground awaits our over night! We cycle out the Schyulkill River Tail and the Perkiomen CreekTrail with our tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, a change of clothing, towel and toiletries, on the rear rack of your bicyle. Share camp fee of $12.00. pack a lunch, recommend peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We will eat dinner at a pizzaria full service restaurant. We will boil water for instant hot chocolate, coffee or tea in the morning before breaking camp. Full breakfast will be at a restaurant along the trail in Schwenksville. Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 50 - 70 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. The route will probably be a D30 style, with one more optional hill thrown in (maybe pizza hill?)! Cue sheets will not be available.

Level B-: 14mph, 81 miles. Meet at Maurice River Township Elementary School, Port Elizabeth, NJ, on NJ-47 This school is south of Milville. . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This mostly flat ride along the Delaware Bay is based on a route byTom Hammell of the Princeton Freewheelers, and author of the book “Road Biking in New Jersey”, as well as roads used by BCP Dave and the Jersey Shore Cycle Club. Cycle through quaint small towns in Cumberland County, NJ, across placid lakes, rivers and ponds, past beaches and a wildlife refuge filled with waterfowl, and the East Point Lighthouse. Pass the tranquil Lake Nummy in Belleplain State Forest. Total elevation gain is only 574 feet. In lieu of hills, we should expect headwinds. We will have long continuous stretches without slowing or stopping. We have Wawa rest stops at mile 20 and mile 43, as well as a sit-down lunch stop at mile 61. Please bring plenty of fluids, energy snacks. Bringing a CUE SHEET CLIP is highly recommended, in order to keep your cue sheet handy. (Please contact the Leader for info on where to get a cue sheet clip.) Please contact the Leader for directions to the starting point. Mon May 20, 2019 - Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides
Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Thu May 23, 2019 - Cycle Tour to the Kent County Spring Fling
Level D: 10mph, 50/35 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Wanting to cycle tour to the Kent County Spring Fling, Baltimore Bicyle Club? Join me for the two day ride to Chestertown, MD. on Washington College Campus. We will overnight in Smyrna, DE Thursday and on to Chestertown, MD Friday, early afternoon. Dining out for all meals, motel overnight will be our individual costs. The route will go down to Wilmington along the Individual Highway, The Jack A Merkell Trail to New Castle, DE, and Rt 9 toward Smyrna, 50 miles. The next day's ride is a straight shot South, 35 miles. You could arrange from other members for a ride back on Monday but I will cycle back via Elkton, MD, anther two days of cycling and motel overnight. All you need to do, register for the event with the Baltimore Bicyle Club, panniers on your bike to carry your clothes for three days including inclement weather gear. Level C: 9-11mph, 32 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:30 am. For our inaugural off-road ride we'll ride the SRT to the Perkiomen Trail up to Spring Mount. Early lunch at Snoozy's Cafe on the return (mile 18). The ride will be a mix of dirt, gravel, loose rocks and paved trail. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind a few rougher sections here and there. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. We expect to list a ride weekly on Thursdays, starting from either Betzwood (going up either the SRT or the Perkiomen) or the New Hope/Lambertville area (exploring both sides of the Delaware River). FLOURTOWN TO SKIPPACK: Pretty route through Montgomery County, passing through Ambler, West Point and Worcester, on the way to Skippack. Quick restroom break at Fischers Park at mile 16. Wawa rest stop at mile 24. Total elevation 1946 feet - mostly rolling terrain. Regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain at least 13 mph, as advertised. Assemble at 7:50am, in order to start promptly at 8:00am. Earlier start time today, due to Friday afternoon getaway for the Memorial Day Weekend. Plan is to return by 12 noon. Level B-: 14mph, 109 miles. Meet at Main parking lot of Washington College, on MD-213 in Chestertown, MD.. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Century trek on mostly flat-to-gently-rolling roads from Chestertown, MD, north to Chesapeake City (along the C & D Canal), across the Mason Dixon line to quaint Middletown and Odessa, DE, then returning to Maryland's Eastern Shore. Cycle mostly on lightly traveled roads with wide shoulders. Total elevation gain is 2164 feet. We'll pass through charming small towns, and cross the scenic Sassafras and Bohemia Rivers. Rest stops available at mile 19 (Galena), 39 (Chesapeake City), 51 (Wawa in Middletown, DE), 61 (Wawa north of Odessa). On the return, we can stop in Galena again at mile 88. Stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 14mph, as advertised. SHORT-CUT OPTION: On the return, staying straight on 213 South directly to Chestertown will shave off several miles. Please note: in lieu of hill-climbing, we'll have HEADWINDS for part of the route. Explore the SRT from near Phoenixville to Reading at an OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride. While some of the trail north of our start will be on crushed stone it can be done by road bikes. We will go into downtown Reading to the Peanut Bar and Grill or if we are too tired and hot we will go to the Queen Dinner in West Reading. Level C+: 13.5-14.5mph, 25-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Daylight rides on beautiful low-traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. Thu May 30, 2019 - Off-road Thursday (ad-hoc ride)
Level C: 9-10mph, 30 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Today we'll ride the SRT to beyond Spring City, and having lunch in Spring City on the return. The ride will initially be a mix of dirt and loose rocks, and then become mostly smooth crushed limestone and paved trail. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind a few rougher sections here and there. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. We expect to list a ride weekly on Thursdays, starting from either Betzwood (going up either the SRT or the Perkiomen) or the New Hope/Lambertville area (exploring both sides of the Delaware River). Level C- through D: 10-11.5mph, 15-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the stresses of the workday, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride - relaxed pace. Meet in same parking lot as the "Multi-Level Conshohocken Rides". Start by riding on the Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, the Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill with Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring lights in case we return close to dark. Cue sheets will not be available.

Thu May 30, 2019 - CANCELLED Thursday Night Hill Ride
Levels B: 15mph, B-/C+: 14mph, 25 -35 miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering 3 Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be nearing 30 - 35 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. 50% chance of rain between 6:00 and 8:00 cancels the ride Cue sheets will not be available. Two different paced groups: Simon will lead a B pace ride at 14.5 - 15.5 mph and Gene will lead the traditional pace at 13.5 -14.5 mph. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after-ride drinks at local beer gardens (bring ID & money). Cue sheets will not be available.

Thu May 30, 2019 - CANCELLED Conshohocken Multi-Level Rides
Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Meet at 5:45 for a prompt start. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring a rear light for use at dusk, and preferably a front light too. Will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. NOTE: START TIME IN SEPT. IS 5:45. Cue sheets will not be available. Fri May 31, 2019 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Glenside to Evansburg. Post-Ride Mini Tailgate Party, to Celebrate the Start of Summer
Level B-/C+: 13-15mph, 51 miles. Meet at Glenside Public Library parking lot. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Pretty route from Glenside through Montgomery County, to Evansburg State Park. Outbound via Ambler, West Point, and North Penn. Return from Evansburg via East Norriton, Centre Square, and Flourtown. Two quick WAWA rest stops - one at mile 18 (North Penn), and one at mile 35 (East Norriton). Total climbing is 2259 ft, as per https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12735572. POST-RIDE MINI-TAILGATE PARTY: Leader will bring assorted snacks and soft drinks. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). Level C- through D: 9-13mph, 19 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 11:00 am. Ride from the Art Museum to the High Point Cafe at Allen Lane Station and back -- out via Midvale Ave. and the Walnut Lane Bridge bike lane, back via the Wissahickon Trail (paved, not Forbidden Drive). No one will be left behind. Bring water, money for our stop at Allen Lane and a spare tube.
