Philadelphia Weekend Weather

BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Kayuh Pedalers: 2019 Urban Weekly Sunday Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 6, 2019 and is scheduled to end on December 29, 2019. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycles & Cafe 19th St. & Girard Ave at 9:00 am. Ride Level: C- through D: 10-12mph, Distance: 15-25 miles. These rides will focus local neighborhoods around Philadelphia County and will include places like old buildings, historic places and murals. Easy rides for new riders to biking, with Safety Instructions and How To ride in a group. A no drop ride, with rest stops and re-group as needed. Helmet and Water a must.   • Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride Ride and Instructional Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from the formal entrance to the Azalea Garden at 12:00 pm. Ride Level: D. Casual introductory level ride, suited for improving group riding skills and fitness. Safety instruction provided. If noted as instructional in the listing for a specific date, the ride will also cover riding basics such as shifting, clipless pedals etc. Distance and speed will be dictated by the abilities of the group. D rides are generally 10-20 miles at a pace of 8-12 mi/hr, and the ride will regroup as necessary. Adverse weather generally cancels the ride. Helmet, bicycle in operating condition and water is required. Snacks are strongly advised.   • Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 1, 1987 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 12:15 pm. Ride Level: C: 12mph. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign.

  • Tuesday's 

     

  • RIDE YER BIKE TUESDAY

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on October 1, 2019 and is scheduled to end on October 29, 2019. The ride will depart from Upper Dublin High School at 10:00 am. Ride Levels: A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, Distance: 35-50 miles. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. We'll often ride familiar routes, sometimes we'll scope out new routes. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Often will have a sit-down lunch stop. Check before the ride for an updated listing w/ride details: destination, distance, terrain & if all paces are offered. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). LAST RIDE OF THE MONTH STARTS @ CENTRAL PARK, DOYLESTOWN. THE RIDE IS AD HOC IN NOV. - FORECAST DETERMINES THE DAY OF WEEK WE WILL RIDE/ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL WE'LL SHOOT FOR TUES.   • Wednesday's 

     

  • Nighttime Phoenixville Dog Park Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on October 2, 2019 and is scheduled to end on April 29, 2020. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:30 pm. Ride Level: C+: 13.5-14.5mph, Distance: 25-35 miles. Nighttime rides on beautiful low-traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. Lights are required. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace. Temperatures below 20 degrees cancels. Precipitation cancels. Snow and ice on the route cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.   • Friday's 

     

  • Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Fridays starting on December 7, 2012 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2023. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 9:30 am. Ride Level: B-: 14mph, Distance: 45-50, +/- miles. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

  • Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on October 27, 2012 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave at 8:05 am. Ride Levels: A: 18mph, Distance: 40-55 miles. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 8:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.   • Toss of the dice

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on June 11, 2016 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2020. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 9:00 am. Ride Level: C+: 12-14mph, Distance: 45-60 miles. Friendly C+ ride with various destinations: BE SURE TO CHECK THE DAILY RIDE CALENDAR FOR RIDE LEADER AND DESTINATION INFORMATION. Bring money for lunch. We will regroup as necessary and wait at turns within ride level expectations. YOU MUST CARRY A SPARE TUBE. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.

  • Hills out West

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on April 5, 2019 and is scheduled to end on October 13, 2019. The ride will depart from Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum at 9:05 am. Ride Level: B: 14.5-15.5mph, Distance: 50 - 70 miles. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Cue sheets will not be available.
