Philadelphia Weekend Weather

BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Kayuh Pedalers: Sunday Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on August 1, 2018 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2018. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycles & Cafe 19th St. & Girard Ave at 9:00 am. Ride Level: C- through D: 10-12mph, Distance: 15 - 25 miles. These will be rides around Philadelphia County. A no drop ride, re-group when needed. Helmet and Water a must.   • Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride Ride and Instructional Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from the formal entrance to the Azalea Garden at 12:00 pm. Ride Level: D. Casual introductory level ride, suited for improving group riding skills and fitness. Safety instruction provided. If noted as instructional in the listing for a specific date, the ride will also cover riding basics such as shifting, clipless pedals etc. Distance and speed will be dictated by the abilities of the group. D rides are generally 10-20 miles at a pace of 8-12 mi/hr, and the ride will regroup as necessary. Adverse weather generally cancels the ride. Helmet, bicycle in operating condition and water is required. Snacks are strongly advised.   • Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 1, 1987 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 12:15 pm. Ride Level: C. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign.

  • Ride Yer Bike Tuesday

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on October 2, 2018 and is scheduled to end on October 30, 2018. The ride will depart from Upper Dublin High School at 10:00 am. Ride Levels: A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B/B-: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, Distance: 35-50 miles. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Often will have a sit-down lunch stop. Check back a few days prior to the ride for an updated listing with ride details: destination, distance, terrain & whether all paces are offered. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). THE LAST RIDE OF THE MONTH STARTS FROM CENTRAL PARK, DOYLESTOWN AND NOVEMBER RIDES WILL BE AD HOC RE DAY OF THE WEEK AND START TIME.   • Phoenixville Day/Night Dog Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on October 10, 2018 and is scheduled to end on October 31, 2018. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: C+: 13mph, Distance: 25-35 miles. The Phoenixville Dog Park rides will be day/night rides until daylight savings time ends. A strong headlight and taillight are required. The rides will begin in daylight and end in the dark. There will be approximately 2-2.5 hours of dark riding, so please plan batteries accordingly. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

  • RIDE THURSDAYS!

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Thursdays starting on August 2, 2018 and is scheduled to end on November 30, 2018. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 8:45 am. Ride Level: B-/C+: 13.5-14.5mph, Distance: 35-55 miles. RIDE THURSDAYS is on Hiatus for awhile.   • Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Fridays starting on December 7, 2012 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2021. The ride will depart from various starting points (please check the daily calendar) at 9:30 am. Ride Level: B-: 14mph, Distance: 45-50, +/- miles. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

  • Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on October 27, 2012 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave at 8:05 am. Ride Levels: A: 16-17mph, Distance: 40-55 miles. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 8:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.   • Toss of the dice

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on June 11, 2016 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2019. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 9:15 am. Ride Level: C+: 12-14mph, Distance: 45-60 miles. Friendly C+ ride with various destinations: BE SURE TO CHECK THE DAILY RIDE CALENDAR FOR RIDE LEADER AND DESTINATION INFORMATION. Bring money for lunch. We will regroup as necessary and wait at turns within ride level expectations. YOU MUST CARRY A SPARE TUBE. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Indication that cue sheets and/or GPS navigational information will be available no later than 24 hours prior to departure.

  • Winter Bee

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on October 20, 2018 and is scheduled to end on March 31, 2019. The ride will depart from Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum at 9:15 am. Ride Level: B: 14.5-15.5mph, Distance: 40 - 60 miles. A winter B ride with longer rides when warmer, shorter rides when colder. Total elevation 3000 - 4000 ft. The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube. Check daily listing for GPS route information. Ride may be cancelled up to an hour before ride time. Cue sheets will not be available.
