BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     Sat September 21, 2019 - Early Bird Ride to Coffee in Lansdale (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B/B-: 14.5-15mph, 60+/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 7:55 am. Assemble at 7:55. Depart at 8:00 SHARP! Going out via Ambler and Cedar Hill Road, return via Gwynedd Mercy University and Brushtown Road. Several hills, but no killers. 35-minute coffee stop at Backyard Beans. (It's all about the coffee!). Will regroup at top of hills if necessary, but riders are expected to maintain posted speed (what our computers read upon ride completion). PLEASE PREREGISTER: Saves time; increases my ability to read important emergency information; and does not matter if you ultimately decide not to ride, since we will leave at posted departure time with or without you.     Levels A: 18mph, 40-55 miles. Meet at Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave. The ride leaves at 8:05 am. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing.     Level B: 14.5-15mph, 62.5 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Lots of low traffic roads with some hills (3900 feet total elevation). 2 full service rest stops (food, H2O, bathrooms), 23.3, 43.7 miles. Moderate "B" pace. Meet in the middle of the parking lot by the bathrooms. Cue sheets will be available.

    Level B: 14.5-15.5mph, 68 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:05 am. Consider this the next step up from the Toss of the DIce "C+", further (50 - 70 miles) and with more hills (3000 - 5000). The average speed (measured at end of ride) is likely to be 14.5 - 15.5 mph, it is the hills that push this into the B category. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. . This week we picnic (buy food at Wawa or bring your own snack) in Delaware. 4,700 ft of climbing. Bring spare tube.     Sat September 21, 2019 - SURLY DAY "Son of a Bump" Ride (ad-hoc ride)

    Level C: 12.5mph, 14 miles. Meet at Trophy Bikes 611 N. 2nd St. Phila. PA 19123. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. This gritty ride rattles over some of Philly's worst and most historic cobbled-and-train-tracked streets.... we strongly recommend chunky tires, steel frame (Surly not required), head gear, water, spare tube/tools, #2 pencil. No drop, lots of stops, beer after, if not during. Meets at Trophy Bikes in N. Libs.     Level D: 10mph, 26 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This Monday's city coffee ride is going up to the northeast, Oxford Circle, the Great Awakenings Cafe on the corner of Horrocks and E Cheltenham Ave. Up the Delaware River to Bridge St. Return paralleling the Roosevelt Blvd. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Mon September 23, 2019 - Church of the Saviour Multi-Level Rides

    Levels A through D: 10-20mph, 10-40 miles. Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group up to our "A" group. All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot. We have experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but look at Meetup for last minute updates when weather is questionable. Cue sheets will be available.

    Tue September 24, 2019 - Suzy-Jo Donut Tuesday Ride - Riverbend Cafe (ad-hoc ride)

    Level D: 10mph, 34 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Tuesdays are Suzy-Jo Donut day at Riverbend Cafe without needing to go on to Bridgeport, PA. This morning's route will go out Bryn Mar Ave, the Cynwd Heritage Trail, over Manayunk Trail Bridge, the Manayunk Canal Tow Path and following River Rd then up Cedar Grove and Spring Mill Rd to Germantown Pike and back down Joshua Rd to the rear approach to Riverbend Cafe and Bicycle Shop. The extra hill miles will justify having two donuts with my latte. Easy way home. We ride to eat donuts. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Tue September 24, 2019 - RIDE YER BIKE TUESDAY

    Levels A-/B+: 16.5-17.5mph, B: 15-16mph, C+: 13-14mph, 51 miles. Meet at Central Park, Doylestown. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. NOTE: 9:30 START. Bring yer bike & sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Today we'll ride to The Lumberton General Store (mile 37) for lunch, after a quick pit stop in Lambertville (mile 19). Very scenic ride in PA and NJ, with lots of low trafficked country roads. Generally lots of rolling hills with some fast sections and some hillier sections (nothing steep though). Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels). STARTS @ 10:00 October. THE LAST RIDE OF THE MONTH STARTS FROM CENTRAL PARK, DOYLESTOWN.     Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This week's Wednesday Diner ride will go to Brooklawn, NJ. No other than the Brooklawn Diner and Restaurant. Tucked away on the busy, double Rt 130 circle just south of Camden and Gloucester City. Returning along the beautiful Camden Waterfront. And if timing is good, we might take the ferry back to Philadelphia ! Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level C+: 13.5-14.5mph, 25-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Daylight rides on beautiful low-traffic roads. Rolling to hilly terrain. Lights not required, but not a bad idea to be prepared. No one dropped, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace. Cue sheets will not be available.     Level B-/C+: 13.5-14mph, 44 miles. Meet at LAKE GALENA, . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Join Jay Sitkin and me for a scenic Bucks County ride, starting at Lake Galena near Doylestown. Moderately hilly route, with 2700 ft climb. We will travel due north to skirt Nockamixon State Park, and travel the perimeter of Lake Towhee .     Thu September 26, 2019 - CyclePath Thursday

    Level C: 9-11mph, 28-32 miles. Meet at Virginia Forrest Recreation Area 3292 River Rd., New Hope, PA. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Today we'll ride along the Delaware River. Beginning in PA, we'll first head south to Washington's Crossing (mile 12/optional bathroom break), cross the river into NJ, head north to New Hope where we'll stop for lunch (mile 19) and then cross over the river back into PA at Bull's Island (with an option of first adding a few more miles in NJ). The ride is very flat with a mix of dirt and smooth gravel. Best suited for a gravel, cyclocross or hybrid bike, or a road bike with wide tires and a rider who doesn't mind riding on unpaved surfaces. Note that there are bathrooms and ample parking at the start. Leisurely speed - will regroup as needed. Photo-op stops are welcome. Hope you can join us.     Thu September 26, 2019 - CONSHOHOCKEN MULTI-LEVEL RIDES

    Levels A-/B+: 17.5-18.5mph, B/B-: 14.5-15.5mph, C+: 13-14mph, 20-30+ miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 5:45 pm. Meet at 5:30 for a prompt 5:45 start during the month of September. Note that there aren't any bathroom facilities. We offer 3 paces on a variety of routes on relatively lightly traveled roads. Most will have some hills. Distance will vary with the pace and available daylight. Please bring both a front and rear light for use at dusk. C+ and B/B- groups will regroup as needed, but please be prepared to maintain the ride's advertised pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride for possible changes or cancellations (rain cancels), and if a certain pace is not available. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level C through D: 10mph, 75 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Many requests have been received to cycle to Atlantic City. Best for me is on a week day, to save Saturdays for leading D level rides. So a Friday it will be. We will take the NJT train home. This is one of those C distance, D pace, all day ride. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Fri September 27, 2019 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

    Level C/C-: 12mph, 35 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:00 am. Ride from the Art Museum to West Laurel Hill Cemetery to meet up with the Lower Merion Greenway ride which will trace the route of the Township's new bike route from the cemetery to Stoneleigh, and then return, with the BCP group then returning to the Art Museum. Rest and refreshment stops as needed. Cue sheets will not be available. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 7:00 am.

    Level D: 10mph, 15-25 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. For the novice cyclist or new to club riding, this Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride is the best. There will be instructions on the rules of the road for cycling, safety instructions, maintenance hints. All you need is a bicycle helmet, a safe working bicycle, a spirit of adventure. We will ride in and around Fairmont Park and a few Philadelphia or Camden neighborhoods, 15 to 25 miles duration. There will be a stop for refreshment during the ride. Cue sheets will not be available.
