BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     Thu August 11, 2022 - RIDE CLOSED Thursday Morning Hill Ride--Shorter Route: Conshohocken State Road

    Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Summer hours and route. We'll start at 9 AM and do a shorter route to avoid the heat. We'll follow our usual route to the driveway on Hagys Ford Road, and then go down to Mill Creek Road and up Conshohocken State Road, returning via West Laurel Hill Cemetary and lunch at The Landing Kitchen, In case of inclement weather, I will cancel the ride by 9 AM. If the ride is not canceled, it's going. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Thu August 11, 2022 - Delightful, Delicious "D" (and D+/C-) Ride, Thursday evening Edition

    Level C- through D: 10-12.5mph, 15-30 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Scheduled for most Thursday evenings throughout summer, weather permitting. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away work stresses, suited for novices, newcomers to area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Start by riding on Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill w/Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring LIGHTS in case we return close to dark. Our mileage will be determined by how much evening light we have. Occasionally, this ride may meet earlier in afternoon, due to other event in evening. In mid-September, ride will depart at 5:45 or 5:30, due to earlier sunset. Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 5:15 pm.

    Level B-: 14-15mph, 20 - 30 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be ~ 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. Cue sheets will not be available. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after ride drink at Parks on Tap. Rain cancellations will be listed on web site up to 1 hour prior to ride. Preregistration requested as it ensures on-time departure. Cue sheets will not be available.     Fri August 12, 2022 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Upper Dublin High School to Lumberville. Short-Cut Options Available

    Level B-: 14mph, 54 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. For 8/12: Pretty loop from UDHS to the Lumberville Store/Cafe on the Delaware River, in Upper Bucks County. Outbound via Warrington and Doylestown, return via Chalfont and Spring House. Lunch at Lumberville Store at the half-way point. On our way to Lumberville, optional bathroom/snack break at either Doylestown's Central Park, or, at Hansell Park. Short-cut options available to the return to UDHS. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk. 'Gourmet' dining in Dayton, if bagels are considered gourmet'. Participants from PFW and CJBC bike clubs expected. Cue sheets will not be available.     Level D: 10mph, 30 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. I don't have time to do my all days today so we will cycle out to Havertown via Karicon Dr and the busway. Return through 69th Street Transportation area, taking Market St and Powelton Ave back to the Art Museum. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start the ride cancels.     Sat August 13, 2022 - Toss of the Dice 2.0 - A hilly ride

    Levels B: 14-15mph, 66 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. This week a variation of the infamous Jack & Jill ride with 5,400 ft of climbing. Lunch break in Paoli. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Pre-registration preferred.     Sat August 13, 2022 - Old Egg Harbor Rd Bike Path to Nagpuri Saoji (ad-hoc ride)

    Level D: 11.5mph, 29 miles. Meet at Rittenhouse Square - Southeast Entrance at corner of 18th St & Rittenhouse Sq. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Explore the hidden beauty of the Old Egg Harbor Rd Bike Path on the way to Nagpuri Saoji, the only restaurant of its kind in the USA. Bringing the taste of authentic Saoji curry to the US shores. Saoji curry is a popular spicy curry loved in Central India. For more details on the restaurant, check out http://www.nagpurisaojiusa.com/. The way back will be in air-conditioned comfort via Patco.     Sat August 13, 2022 - South Jersey to The Olde World Bakery

    Level B: 15-16mph, 40.6 miles. Meet at Township Park, Columbus NJ. The ride leaves at 9:45 am. This is a combined ride also listed with BTCNJ club from North Jersey and will attract a handful riders from there. Come out from Philly to enjoy a quite and fairly flat ride with great green scenery and fabulous bakery - The Olde World Bakery in Eastampton Township, NJ. Not too many lights or cars on most parts of the road. Please note that given the flat nature of this ride, it will be on the faster end of the category; single file fast ride. Fun and ALL group safety rules are mandatory. Looking forward. Note: Ride will not go in rain or on wet roads or over 90 degrees temperature. . Cue sheets will not be available.     Sun August 14, 2022 - Beautiful Burlington County Farm & Orchard Country CO-LEADER(S) WELCOME

    Level B-: 14mph, 77 miles. Meet at Long Bridge Park, 895 Deacon Rd, Hainesport, NJ 08036. The ride leaves at 8:30 am. Scenic tour of rural Burlington County's farm and orchard country, based on/adapted from the Spellbound Century event ride held in late July. Very pretty and peaceful landscapes, crossing a creek or two. Terrain is gently rolling, with total elevation gain of 2000 ft. Dunkin' Donuts at Mile 18, farmer's market/orchard stops at mile 26 & 48, & 69. Driving Directions from Palmyra, NJ (Tacony-Palmyra Bridge): NJ-73 East > US-130 North > Right onto Creek Rd > Left onto Marne Highway > Cross over 295 & NJ Turnpike > Left onto Deacon Rd to the park.     Mon August 15, 2022 - Church of the Savior (COS) Multi-Level Group Rides

    Levels A through D: 10-20mph Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. The Church of the Savior (COS) Monday night ride is sponsored by both the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and Suburban Cyclists Unlimited. It is the largest group ride in the region with up to 75 riders participating from April through October each year. Our riders have varying ability levels ranging from beginner (“D” level) riders on hybrid bikes that average 9-12 mph through semi-professional (“A” level) riding at 22-25 mph. As a result, we break into groups that are about 7-10 riders although these groups may be as large as 20 riders at times. Cue sheets will not be available.

Scheduled for most Monday evenings throughout summer, weather permitting. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity, relaxed, recovery ride. Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Mont Co. Brief rest stop for quick snack/bathroom break half-way through. Mileage will depend on the length of evening daylight. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. Toward the end of the season (mid-September), this ride will need to leave earlier (5:45 or 5:30pm), due to evening daylight ending earlier.     Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The event starts at 8:00 pm. BCP and SCU will co-host this Members Appreciation Tailgate Party, with pizza, soft drinks, and other snacks, after rides return to COS. Please join us for the merriment and refreshments, as well as announcements on upcoming club events. If you plan to join us, would you please preregister, so that we can plan for the correct amount of food and beverages. If you are traveling from the city to Church of the Saviour, the Wayne train station (on the R5 Paoli train line) is just a few blocks away on North Wayne Ave. It is optional, but you may preregister until Monday, August 15, 2022 at 5:00 pm.

Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads. Lunch stops may be sit down, takeout, or in a park. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to ride the posted pace. Must be willing to ride safely & obey traffic laws. Check day of the ride if weather is iffy - rain cancels, but may reschedule for Wed. NOTE: Upper Dublin H.S. starts will have porta-potties but not water. NOTE: Ride starts at 9:00 June thru Aug., 9:30 in Sept.& 10:00 in Oct. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away the day's stresses, suited for novice riders, newcomers to the area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Relaxed pace, peaceful roads in Eastern Montgomery Co. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on return. This Tuesday night ride meets weekly throughout summer, except if raining, unless there is another special club event in a different location (e.g., Member Appreciation Tailgate Social at another club ride site). After Labor Day, this ride will meet earlier (5:45 or 5:30pm), due shorter evening daylight. Cue sheets will not be available.

Gently paced, post-work ride to pedal away stresses, suited for novices, newcomers to area, and/or anyone seeking low-intensity recovery ride. Peaceful roads Eastern Montgomery Co, w/brief rest stop. Please bring lights. Please bring mask for indoor stop (Just in case) & hand sanitizer. Preregistration saves you writing time at start. If you sign-in at start, please use hand sanitizer. Meet in parking lot of Flourtown Shop Ctr Bethlehem Pike (McDonald's in front, facing the Pike). Once a month, this ride may need to meet earlier in afternoon, due to BCP Board meeting in evening. In September, as evening daylight shortens, this ride will meet earlier (5:45, then, 5:30). Cue sheets will not be available.

Bring your bike, helmet, water bottles, snacks, spare tube, and tools needed for changing a flat (just in case). There are no planned stops on these rides. Gently paced, post-work evening ride to pedal away work stresses, suited for novices, newcomers to area, and/or anyone seeking a low-intensity recovery ride. Start by riding on Schuylkill River Trail, and/or, Cross County Trail, which connects the Schuylkill w/Plymouth Meeting . As riders get stronger, we can turn off the trails and explore some pretty roads in the area. Please bring LIGHTS in case we return close to dark. Our mileage will be determined by how much evening light we have. Occasionally, this ride may meet earlier in afternoon, due to other event in evening. In mid-September, ride will depart at 5:45 or 5:30, due to earlier sunset. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level B-: 14-15mph, 20 - 30 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. A moderately hilly ride conquering Main Line hills that regroups at the top of each climb. As the days lengthen, so does the ride and we should be ~ 30 miles by July. No riders doing the listed pace will be dropped. Cue sheets will not be available. Bike lights are highly recommended. Optional after ride drink at Parks on Tap.     Fri August 26, 2022 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles.     Mon August 29, 2022 - Church of the Savior (COS) Multi-Level Group Rides

    Levels A through D: 10-20mph Meet at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA. The ride leaves at 6:00 pm. The Church of the Savior (COS) Monday night ride is sponsored by both the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and Suburban Cyclists Unlimited. It is the largest group ride in the region with up to 75 riders participating from April through October each year. Our riders have varying ability levels ranging from beginner (“D” level) riders on hybrid bikes that average 9-12 mph through semi-professional (“A” level) riding at 22-25 mph. As a result, we break into groups that are about 7-10 riders although these groups may be as large as 20 riders at times. Cue sheets will not be available.

Cycle peaceful roads in Eastern Mont Co. Brief rest stop for quick snack/bathroom break half-way through. Mileage will depend on the length of evening daylight. Please bring lights in case we are delayed on our return. Toward the end of the season (mid-September), this ride will need to leave earlier (5:45 or 5:30pm), due to evening daylight ending earlier.
