    Fri January 22, 2021 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Short Loop from UDHS to Skippack. COVID PRECAUTIONS in Effect

    Level B-: 14mph, 36 miles. Meet at Upper Dublin High School. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. FOR 1/22/2021 Short but pretty morning loop from Upper Dublin High School to Skippack, for a quick, outdoor rest stop at Wawa. Outbound via Blue Bell and Evansburg, return via North Wales and Ambler. Rest break at Skippack Wawa is at Mile 21. Total climbing 2062 ft. Plan to return by 12:30-12:45pm, in order to get to appointment in the PM. COVID PRECAUTIONS in Effect: Please bring masks and hand sanitizer, and practice safe distancing (20 ft apart while cycling, 6 ft apart when stopped). Please refer to the Club's COVID Mitigation Guidelines on the website, for more details. GENERIC DESCRIPTION: Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.     Level D: 10mph, 18 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. A bike ride to The Papper Trail Bike Coffee Shop is easy and very scenic along the Wisahicon Park. We will return through Germantown and the a slide down Midvale Ave to the Kelly Dr bike trail.     Sat January 23, 2021 - Another Birthday Ride - Devon, PA

    Level D: 10mph, 58 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Sylvia Brown has requested a ride to Devon in honor of her 58 years of fabulous life. We will aim for refreshment stop at the Devon Yard and if that doesn't work out, there is a Whole Foods near by. Sylvia has also requested that there be five hills, one for each decade of her life! Plus that the day's forecast temperature be 45 degrees or more. Now the birthday girl will miss this ride... can't weather these FRIGID temps! See you when its rescheduled. So in adition to KYW reporting rain, snow, or icy conditions outside outside their studio, there is the added temperature note of 45 degrees forecast, cancels ride (but if anyone wants to ride no matter the forecast temperature, just show up).     Level C: 11.5-12mph, 25 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Short ride on a cold day. PLEASE remember your mask! Whole lotta trail to get warmed up. Schuylkill Trail, Cynwyd Trail. Moderately rolling terrain after that. Regroup at hill tops and traffic signals. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat January 23, 2021 - SUNSHINE & HOT COFFEE - FLOURTOWN to KRIEBEL's CUSTOM BAKERY in EAGLEVILLE. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT (ad-hoc ride)

    Level B-: 14mph, 37 miles. Meet at Flourtown Shopping Center. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Pretty route, but not too long, for a chilly winter day. Outbound via Blue Bell and Worcester, return from Eagleville via Norristown Farm Park and Plymouth Meeting. On the outbound, short bathroom break if needed at Heebner Park at Mile 13. Coffee/food stop at Kriebel's Custom Bakery at Mile 20. On the return, there is a mega-Wawa at Mile 23, if needed. Cross some peaceful creeks and pass green & tranqiuil parks. Rolling terrain with 2180 ft climbing - no killer climbs, but enough to keep us trim and warm on a cold day. COVID PRECAUTIONS in EFFECT: Please bring masks and hand sanitizer, and maintain safe distancing (20 ft apart while pedaling, at least 6 ft apart when stopped).     Sun January 24, 2021 - Hike The Wissahickon - Crefeld Loop

    Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 5.2 miles. Meet at Crefeld Trailhead (8950 Crefeld St. Chestnut Hill). The hike leaves at 9:30 am. 🥾 2.2 miles on the White and Lavender Trails past the Tedyuscung Statue to Valley Green 🥾 then 2 miles on Forbidden Drive to Bells Mill Rd 🥾 then a 1-mile return via the Lavender Trail.     Level D: 10mph, 15 - 20 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Come on our club's oldest running club ride. Designed for novice cyclists new to organized club rides, those new to Philadelphia, and those experienced riders just wanting a lay back group ride. A short review of the rules of the road, safety tips, advice to winter cycling clothing and description of the route will be given.     Level C: 12mph, 25-35 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. Winter destinations will be determined based on weather on the day of the ride. Friendly C ride which cheerfully waits to regroup. Some climbing required. COVID rules in effect. Bring mask for meet-up and food stop. No ride if rain at the start of the ride or 50 pct or more chance of rain during ride per NOAA forecast. Pre-registration strongly encouraged. It is optional, but you may preregister until Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 11:00 am.

    Sun January 24, 2021 - Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday) COVID PRECAUTIONS remain in effect

    Level B-: 14mph, 35-40 miles. Meet at Various Starting Locations - details posted each week. The ride leaves at 1:15 pm. Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, due to the AM hikes being moved from Wissahickon to suburban points outside of Phila. Return by 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving through winter - maintain base fitness for spring cycling in March. COVID PRECAUTIONS (mask, hand sanitizer, distancing, etc.) remain in effect. Cue sheets will be available.

    Level D: 10mph, 30 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Monday's Conshohocken ride goes to a great coffee shop between 9th and 8th Avenues on Fayette St. We will approach the establishment from the upper side via the Cross County Trail but there are still two reasonable hills.     Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Trouble awaits us at a coffee shop in Haddon Heights, NJ in the middle of our ride. Over the Ben Franklin Bridge to Copper River Park. Then out Browning Rd to E. Atlantic Ave. We will return through Haddonfield, NJ to check out the outdoor dinning at the Bistro for a future ride.     Thu January 28, 2021 - Thursday Morning Hill Ride - Conshohocken State Rd

    Level D: 10mph, 25 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmont Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. We start a new round of Thursday Morning Hill Rides which has six versions. Version #1 Conshohocken State Rd, the shortest and easiest to navigate, #2 Mill Creek Rd, Hollow Rd, Hagesford Rd. #3 backwards version of #2 climbing out of the Schuylkill River Valley at Flat Rock Park on Mill Creek Rd, all the way gentley up to Ardmore's Farmers Market for coffee. #4 Youngs Ford Rd, Wayerly Rd. #5 Merion Squre Rd, maybe the steepest, #6 doing Wayerly Rd, Youngs Ford Rd version backwards. Coffee at Thunder Mug after except the backwards routes, at Ardmore Farmers Market! Do all six which will take us into March!     Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 5-7 miles. Start location to be determined. The hike leaves at 9:30 am. Hiking the Wissahickon with BCP COVID-19 Protocols. Check the daily ride calendar on the Sunday before the hike for details and to pre-register. Pre-registration is required. This is a shared hike with SCU.     Sun January 31, 2021 - Sunny Sunday C Spinoff - Lower Swedish Cabin

    Levels C: 12mph, 26-32 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. The Lower Swedish Cabin is a colonial era cabin built between 1640 and 1650 by Swedish settlers in the Delaware Valley. It is located on the banks of Darby Creek. 2 possible distances (depending on weather). Short version 26 miles. Long version 32 miles. PLEASE remember your mask! Regrouping at hill tops and traffic signals. Cue sheets will not be available. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 9:00 am.
