    Fri November 26, 2021 - Friday Frolic w/Linda. Black Friday Special - Miles Away from the Shopping Malls. A Charlie B. route to Trumbauersville, via Graceful Glen Alpaca Farm

    Level B-: 14mph, 46 miles. Meet at Fischer's Park in Towamencin, 2235 Bustard Rd, Harleysville, PA 19438. The ride leaves at 10:00 am. From Fischer's Park in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, PA to Spor's General Store in Trumbauersville, Bucks County for ICE CREAM and lunch. This scenic, shady route is based on Rich Wagner's beautiful, longer "The Animal Ride". Thank you Rich! 2021 Updates - added Skymount Lake (twice) and Barrel Run Trail (just before Trumbauersville). Lake Skymount (mile 15.2 and 29.2) and Barrel Run Trail (mile 23.3). Lunch at Spor’s General Store (mile 25.0). Graceful Glen Alpacas are at Mile 8. Total climbing 2813 ft.     Level D: 10mph, 15 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Black Friday ride to the wonderful Rittenhouse Town in Wisahicon Park to have a coffee and cake/cookie! Shall we take Forbidden Dr on our return? Come and find out!     Sat November 27, 2021 - Newark, DE to Turkey Point Lighthouse Adventure.

    Level B-: 14mph, 59 miles. Meet at Parking lot of the Newark & Pomeroy Rail Trail, near Trek Bikes & Ski Bum stores, next to the Newark Shopping Center on Main St. . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. In honor of Thanksgiving turkey, this ride is a revival of the late Peter Odell's classic route to the Turkey Point Lighthouse, on the scenic and peaceful peninsula between the Elk River and the North East River, at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Mostly quiet roads in northwestern Delaware and northeastern Maryland. Rest stop at mile 18.5, in the cute town of Northeast, MD. ScenicTurkey Point Lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula is at mile 31.5. (The Lighthouse Trail runs right along the perimeter of the peninsula.) On the return, we have a rest stop at a market/deli at mile 45. Total elevation gain is 3986 feet. Mostly rolling terrain, with some steep climbs (up-down-up-down) close to the lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula. We will stop to regroup as needed. Travel time from Philadelphia to Newark is ~one hour. Driving Directions from Philadelphia: I-95 South into DE, then DE-273 West toward Newark/Univ. of DE. DE-273 will lead you to Main St. The Newark Shopping Center, the Rail Trail parking lot, and Bike Line & Ski Bum stores will be on your right. COVID PRECAUTIONS in Effect: Please read the Rider Guidelines for COVID Mitigation posted on the website. Please bring masks and hand sanitizer, and please practice social distancing - 20 ft apart when cycling, and at least 6 ft apart when stopped. Cue sheets will be available.     Sat November 27, 2021 - Ambler, PA

    Level D: 10mph, 46 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. We will take a winding route up to Ambler, and a straight route back via Dekalb Pike and the Schuylkill River Trail. We will try a different refreshment place this visit. I will consult a BCP member familiar with the town. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     Sat November 27, 2021 - Toss of the Dice 2.0 - Delco Special - Media - 40 miles

    Level C+: 14mph, 35-80 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:15 am. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Please be familiar with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Rider Guidelines for COVID-19 Mitigation, and bring a mask for the rest stop. Preregistration required. If you want a cue PDF, please send me your email address. Cue sheets will not be available. The on-line route map is Delco Special.     Sun November 28, 2021 - Sunday Winter Hike in the Wissahickon

    Hike Moderate Pace on Moderate Trails, 5-7 miles. Meet at Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves. The hike leaves at 9:30 am. FOR 11/28: let's meet at BRUNO'S for a pretty & rejuvenating adventure on both sides of the creek. Brief rest stop mid-way at the Valley Green Inn. On the return, hikers seeking a short-cut can take Forbidden Drive back to Bruno's. Pre-registration is required. Hiking boots/shoes recommended and YakTrax if icy. Well behaved dogs welcome, but must be on leash at all times. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 7:00 am.

    Sun November 28, 2021 - Sunny Sunday D Ride

    Level D: 9-12mph, 12-24 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. This ride is for new riders of any age with a short session learning an essential biking skill. There might be a hill or two to increase physical conditioning, but we will regroup as necessary. Please wear helmet and have mask available (required by the club). Please bring extra tube and tools to change a flat, water, proper dress for the weather, and $ for mid ride snack stop. Preregistration is required, please preregister by Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 12:00 pm.

    Sun November 28, 2021 - Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    Level C: 12mph Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign. It is optional, but you may preregister until Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 11:00 am.

    Sun November 28, 2021 - Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday) COVID PRECAUTIONS remain in effect

    Level B-: 14mph, 32-40 miles. Meet at Various Starting Locations - details posted each week. The ride leaves at 1:15 pm. Scenic loop, thru Mont.Co. or Lower Bucks, brief rest stop. MEETING POINTS WILL VARY, based on the various Start/Finish points of the morning hike somewhere in the Wissahickon. Return by 5:00pm. Distance will be determined by sunset time. Please bring LIGHTS. Details posted each week. Every Sun during winter hike season, weather permitting, w/possible exception Valentine's Day weekend. If weather not bike-friendly, ride may be replaced by snow activity. Keep moving through winter - maintain base fitness for spring cycling in March. COVID PRECAUTIONS will be maintained, based on the current public health guidelines in effect at the time.     Level D: 10mph, 27 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. Ride out and back on the SRT- enjoy a pastry and a coffee at the Feine cafe..On the return trip, we will cross the Manayunk Bridge and take the Cynwyd heritage trail and go through west Laurel Hill cemetery.     Tue November 30, 2021 - Wynnewood, PA - Delancey Street Bagels

    Level D: 10mph, 20 miles. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 10:00 am. What goes round comes around quickly when you go cycling with BCP on the Tuesday morning rides. Delancey Street Bagels is one of three destinations on Thursdays. Always a good ride out and a better ride back. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.
